Sellmer Diers - home delivery

Hi

Is Sellmer Diers now the only option for home insemination?

Has anybody used them? Has anyone used their healthcare professional service?

At the moment I don't know anyone who could complete the form for me so that I can complete this at home without going through a clinic. Has anyone one done this recently? Are there any success stories?

Any advice on using them would be much appreciated :-)

Hi everybody,
Unfortunately, I will not even recommend this sperm bank to my worst enemy. We placed an order for a consequent sum which we had delivered to our clinic. Sellmerdiers sent the sperm that did not correspond at all to what was written on the website. The clinic returned the order and requested express reimbursement for it. The Managers (Diers & Sellmers) refused. We sent a lawyer, the applicable law is that of Denmark and our request was simply rejected because Sellmerdiers claimed that the general conditions of sale specified the information. In the end, we lost time and money, but the worst was to the bullying of the managers and employees of Sellmerdiers.
Subsequently, we learned that several people have been abused by this organization.
I invite you not to be fooled by the pretty website and to order rather from a serious sperm bank, like Cryos Bank.
We do not lose the hope of recovering our money, by bringing a legal action common to all the abused people.
Good luck with your insemination ... and your future baby.
Suzon

@Suzon1 wow, I'm glad I read this as I was thinking about ordering from them for home delivery. Did you get your money back in the end?

LanieM87 · 19/04/2020 22:43

This is a fairly old thread now but I just wanted to add that I used SellmerDiers and am currently 24 weeks pregnant I did at home insemination and used them twice. I found the customer service to be fantastic, they were very quick to respond and helpful in the information they provided.

As with any company some people will have bad experiences - but I just wanted to put out a positive story as well.

RustyMcG · 20/04/2020 08:29

Ok thanks laniem87

RustyMcG · 20/04/2020 08:32

LanieM87, did you use ICI or IUI straws? Did you buy two each time and use two each cycle?

LanieM87 · 20/04/2020 09:41

Hi @RustyMcG I used ici as that's suitable for home insemination.

The first time I ordered two, but my dates ended up being very off that month so no joy. Then the next time I ordered one and obviously timed it perfectly!

So I'd say if you are very regular with no fertility issues then you can probably get away with one. It comes in a tank and is good for around 5 days so that gives a bit of leeway.

RustyMcG · 20/04/2020 10:09

Thx a mil. Congrats on the pregnant.

Ellie0610 · 28/04/2020 23:39

Hi @LanieM87 do you mind me asking how long after LH surge did you inseminate? Waiting on our delivery tomorrow for first try! Xxx

LanieM87 · 29/04/2020 08:48

Hi @Ellie0610 I ended up doing it the day before my surge! Well the night before, I was convinced I'd missed it and was worried my tank would die, but lo and behold my surge happened the following morning.

Tbh after months of tracking my cycle this ended up being a bit of a fluke!

Good luck! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Lbc34 · 30/04/2020 12:50

Can I ask- what did you put for the healthcare professional question when you ordered? I want to do the home insemination and not sure what it means when they ask for these details?

RustyMcG · 30/04/2020 14:41

You need to upload the credentials of a healthcare professional like a friend who’s a nurse etc

RustyMcG · 30/04/2020 14:42

Or they won’t just ship to your home address. It can be any kind of healthcare professional like a physio or anything, doesn’t need to be a doctor.

RustyMcG · 30/04/2020 14:42

They also respond to emails

Lbc34 · 30/04/2020 15:20

Brilliant thanks

RustyMcG · 30/04/2020 17:50

There’s also a shipping authorisation form that needs to be signed by the medical professional.

LockdownLiquidLunch · 30/04/2020 19:23

@RustyMcG, does it have to be someone who is a friend/acquaintance? I don't know anyone personally in the healthcare profession. The only person I can think of who might do it, would be my therapist, but that's obviously someone who only knows me professionally.

RustyMcG · 30/04/2020 19:54

Yes that would do as long as they’re willing to do it.

Laslek · 01/05/2020 14:40

Hi I'm very new to this and really wondering the same thing. I'm about to order for home insemination but would like some feedback from someone who has already used it. Also wondered if a healthcare assistant would be able to sign the forms. As in a carer for the elderly??

LanieM87 · 02/05/2020 10:26

Hi @Laslek it needs to be a registered health professional, unfortunately healthcare assistants do not fall into this category.

Laslek · 02/05/2020 10:41

Thankyou. It say healthcare assistant on the website. I was just trying to narrow it down as thers lots of types of care assistants. I think it means the assistants in a hospital??.. ther is not a lot of info I can find about sellmerdiers and not many reviews. Should this worry me??

RustyMcG · 02/05/2020 11:34

No my delivery arrived fine. But UPS were three hours early and they didn’t knock properly so I missed the delivery and I had to endure a lot of stress trying to get them back the same day. They say delivery is at noon but mine was 9am. Leave a note on your front door for them to leave the tank outside or you may miss them. I live in Central London though so it probably depends on where you live. It’ll be delivered the day after you order if you specify that. If you get a vial of sperm (small plastic tube) you have to thaw in water so be careful to use a thermometer to get the temperature right. I got a straw of sperm which thaws on its own when you take it out. It thaws in five minutes so be careful. I watched a video on you tube posted by a women called MamaBethie, really recommend it. She inseminated herself twice and got pregnant first time each time. Hold the syringe inside yourself for ten minutes before you push the plunger and I know this is TMI but if you can make yourself orgasm then plunger just as you come the cervix will suck the sperm up better. She explains that in the video. I also used Preseed which you can get on amazon or in boots. It’s a lubricant which helps sperm, don’t use any other type of lube as they can damage the sperm, this one assists it. And keep your legs up for at least an hour. And use a menstrual moon cup or buy a ferti Lily which you put in after and it keeps the sperm in.

RustyMcG · 02/05/2020 11:36

ferti Lily you can get in boots.

Laslek · 02/05/2020 15:20

Thanks for all that information. Very helpful. I'm gunna share this with my wife and maybe have a few more questions if you dont mind 😁

Laslek · 02/05/2020 16:08

And again.. sorry for repeating but was your overall experience with sellmerdiers a good one and were they helpful with information?
