Consent order has been submitted via online portal. Anyone submitted theirs recently and can give an idea of current processing times? I know it depends which Court deal with it but would be good to get a idea…Thanks.

I suppose it would take away the worry that he could go for that at any point in the future though. At least you would know sooner rather than later if you did have to share it or give more equity away - and it’s very likely that it would be agreed as it is. I listen to the Legal Queen podcasts and there are regular call ins with people who haven’t got a financial order who have exes making their claim on pensions and property years down the line. My house is due to exchange and my solicitor has insisted we wait until the order is sealed.

That's a good podcast tip. Thank you!

How much did it cost everyone to get the consent order drafted etc?

Mine cost £800 plus VAT and court costs- my ex and I split it 50/50😊

DevonCream · 27/02/2024 22:16

Thanks Jenny. What did court costs etc come to if you don't mind me asking.

Thanks Jenny. What did court costs etc come to if you don't mind me asking.

Court costs for financial consent order is £53.
ex and I both paid my solicitor £507 i think to cover the £800 plus VAT (£160) and court costs £53.

Jonathan70 · 27/02/2024 22:34

Mine was similar to Jenny’s - I think the court fee is about £50 - 60 on top. I’ve seen other people quote less……

Update - consent order uploaded to portal on 9th Feb and accepted on 20th Feb.
Sealed on 4th March - received confirmation today.
I was advised 8 weeks but less than a month. No questions/queries.

@AMuser so you git your final order before the consent order? Ex is REALLY dragging his heels, changing his mind and generally clinging on to any bit of control he can. I don't have any more money to argue the toss via solicitors, but am really tempted to apply for the final order now . There's no way we'll have a consent order in time.

Of course we will need a consent orderbut I really just want the final order done then carry on working on the consent order. Its nit a complicated financial situation, "just" an abusive husband.

Jonathan70 · 08/03/2024 20:15

Got the financial consent order today and then sent off for the final order - waiting for it to come through @AMuser
Not a complicated situation either but waited because that was what solicitor advised. I’d chat to your solicitor and see what they think. At least, once you’ve got a financial agreement, it seems like they are coming through pretty quickly which is something. Good luck to you

Can you do financial consent order at any time after conditional order comes through? Even after final order?

Jonathan70 · 08/03/2024 23:02

Yes, anytime @DevonCream but they advise you to do financial order before final order.

Update- my financial order was granted this morning! I was completely surprised to hear this especially as it’s a bank holiday today but yeah that’s done now. Final order will be applied for on Tuesday and then that’s that. Thank you to everyone on here for their replies and support 😊

Jonathan70 · 29/03/2024 11:45

Congratulations @Jenny876
I applied for my final order on a Friday night and it was still approved even though out of office hours. Have you tried applying online? Either way, congratulations to you. Onwards and upwards.

Thanks- I’ve gone through solicitors for it all so they will be back Tuesday. I don’t mind waiting a few days now after the 18 months of waiting I’ve done.
congratulations to you- so happy it’s all over for you

Hello, I am in a same situation. My consent order was rejected by the judge and asked to reformat. It has been resubmitted last Friday. Just curious, when was it approved for you after order was resubmitted

Hi. Mine was rejected and we amended and resubmitted it. It took about two and a half weeks after resubmission to get it approved- it was actually approved on Good Friday which I wasn’t expecting as it’s a bank holiday! All the best 😊

Thanks! It certainly was- I was stressed out all week thinking that’s it now I won’t hear til after Easter weekend but then out of the blue my solicitor emailed me saying it was approved that morning- it wasn’t my solicitors working day either but he knew how anxious I was about it! I applied for final order on the Tuesday (first day back after Easter bank holiday) and it was granted same day!
all the best to you- it will happen for you and then the stress of it should hopefully be finished for you 😊

Jena151 · 07/05/2024 20:50

I can imagine how you could feel that time. Going through same. Hopefully soon it will be over for me as well. Thank you x

halfmyface · 21/05/2024 23:34

Does anyone have a recent update on waiting times for a consent order? My exs solicitor submitted it on 1st May. Thank you !

What was wrong with the format if you don't mind me asking?

Tbh lawyers were not sure either but they asked both of us to sign again using docusign and no other changes were made.
