Manuka, I never fail to have a good time up north . I have a friend who I see who lives just outside of Ilkley and I have known him for 23 years. On my first day at Polytechnic he sat on the same desk as me in the very first lecture of our course! And we have been mates ever since.

BGD thats really lovely about your Ilkley friend! Ilkley is a great place I live in Leeds so its only down the road. Have you been to Bolton Abbey?? Thats not far from Ilkley and is a great place if you like rolling hills and rivers and trees etc not to forget the mysterious vanishing cows! Last summer we were sat in a field of cows and they were really close to us paddling in the river edge and we were really engrossed in a conversation and when we got up to go all the cows had dissapeared. It was just as if they'd all been holograms and someone switched them off!!

Manuka, one of my friends got married in Bolton Abbey. It was probably one of the loveliest wedding services I have ever been too. They had a woman sing Ave Maria and she blew my socks off with her voice! (Well I was three feet away from her)

My friend lives in Addingham and we stay at The Crown when we go up. The landlady is lovely there and the beer and breakfast is top notch! (Saw the rugby world cup final there, Ttley in hand at 8am!)

Probably was milking time but it was just so weird that we didn't notice any of them walk past us or hear a farmer calling them! So I like to think that they weren't real cows at all!
