Well there goes my Velogames Angry

ToftheB · 14/05/2019 21:20

It’s really sad to see a crash ruin someone’s race like that.

EndoplasmicReticulum · 14/05/2019 21:41

And another one jinxed - sorry about that.

DramaAlpaca · 14/05/2019 23:36

Oh dear.

I'm going to stick to the Tour de France Velogames in future. I jinx too many riders at the Giro & it's just not fair on them Sad

IStillMissBlockbuster · 15/05/2019 21:29

You gotta wonder why TD bothered starting the race only to withdraw .5km in.

EndoplasmicReticulum · 15/05/2019 21:38

I was surprised to see Italy being wetter than Yorkshire!

prettybird · 18/05/2019 14:59

I forgot again Blush

With ds no longer cycling and away from home so I don't get to listen to his wittering , I'm really out of the loop, but maybe getting more organised in time for the TdF will help Wink Bike

Ds has told me that 2 of the lads he used to race with (had even beaten one of them in a Devil Smile, and the other one he finished alongside in the bunch of one of the crits in the North West Youth Tour) were in the Tour de Yorkshire (in Team GB I think).

DoctorTwo · 18/05/2019 18:16

Blimey! Yesterday saw me score almost 500 points and go from 16634 to 8919 overall. I am well chuffed. :o

MrSlant · 19/05/2019 22:30

It's the same here prettybird, DS wasn't at a remotely similar level to yours but cycling was life and now he's at uni and really into climbing instead I don't have my sounding board or intense obsessive information giver so I'm not in the loop much either.

I would also like to issue an apology to Yates, I promise never to choose him for my team again if it's going to hex him like this.

Anyway, the only way is up for my team. Hopefully.

MrSlant · 19/05/2019 22:31

And, umm, congratulations DoctorTwo, I mean it, honest, not bitter at all, no no no...

DramaAlpaca · 19/05/2019 23:11

Oh MrSlant I don't know whether to feel sorry for you or to feel grateful that I'm no longer at the bottom of the league... Grin

And I must also apologise to those riders who I've jinxed by putting them on my team. Sorry lads.

Well done Doctor! Bike

prettybird · 20/05/2019 08:37

Intense, obsessive wittering information is exactly the right description.

Even ds admits that he is not as knowledgable any more Wink

We just have to listen to his intense, obsessive wittering commentary on rugby now Hmm (To be fair, he's pretty well informed Grin)

MrPan · 21/05/2019 10:45

Bike pedals furiously to catch up.

It is a bit all over the place this giro, isn't it? Quite good. And esp the sprinting isn't going the way you'd think.

And still waiting for DA to surge from the back in the final week!

EndoplasmicReticulum · 22/05/2019 17:51

I'm feeling a bit "when are they going uphill?" at this point. We're a fair way in and no mountains yet, just flat stage, time trial, flat stage, slightly lumpy stage....

IStillMissBlockbuster · 22/05/2019 18:45

Yeah, i'm bored.

MrPan · 22/05/2019 19:06

As a pancake today? Not seen it but the coming days are fairly brutal?

MrSlant · 22/05/2019 22:13

My cyclists are all really good on the hilly bits that's why my team is rubbish at the moment . Plus I blame DS1 without siting through his wittering lectures I have no clue what is going on in the pro peloton.

The coming days have snow drifts! That makes me think we might be in for some altitude.

FelicityLemon · 23/05/2019 21:40

Well have mostly caught up after hectic week. My lads are doing well which makes up for the poor display of DQS so far. Though props to Eros Cappechi, the last person I would imagine being in the top 5 at this stage. Loving the unpredictability of this Giro.

iNeverFinishAnyth · 23/05/2019 21:47

A bit late finding you all, but have added myself to the league. Now waiting for the hilly stages!

MrSlant · 23/05/2019 22:23
MrPan · 24/05/2019 09:32

18,534 of 18,637 MrSlant - my notion is that IF you are going to bomb you do it in BIG style. No equivocation, no compromise, no mealy-mouthed nonsense. Well done!! And with a bike throw too. Bradders would be proud. Stood on a car asking for the bingo numbers.

MrSlant · 24/05/2019 22:22

Made it into the bottom 100 Pan. Proud.

EndoplasmicReticulum · 24/05/2019 22:39

Is there a velogames equivalent of the lanterne rouge (or the.....quick google.....Maglia Nera)?

I'm not doing much better, tbh.

EndoplasmicReticulum · 24/05/2019 22:42

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maglia_nera

Love the bit about the two competitors hiding behind hedges and puncturing their own wheels.

MrSlant · 24/05/2019 22:47

Ooh, I look good in black. Going to start hiding in bushes and shoving sticks through the wheels of my team Wink.

I love the stories of the people deliberately trying to come in last. Theres real kudos in that isn't there?
