What time did he come on stage and what time did it finish please...am trying to figure out babysitting nightmare

myalias · 02/08/2007 14:57

Typical!
Who was the support band? What time did it finish? I'm going on Sunday 16th Sept and I'm working the next day.

Whizzz · 02/08/2007 14:57

I've seen him twice & both times he was amazing. His bottom is only |..this..| wide

AlbusPercivalWulfricBrianSun · 02/08/2007 14:58

Cammelia I was there, although we didn't have as good seats as you. It was amazing - shame he didn't do SOTT though - I hear he'd rehearsed 150 songs and chooses from them on the night. Felt sorry for those people who left and didn't see him come back on at the end!

Diplidophus · 02/08/2007 14:59

I'm going next Saturday. first night out witout DS2 - can't wait.

Does he play the old stuff?

CountessDracula · 02/08/2007 14:59

wehre were you sitting weirdly named person beginning with Albus?

AlbusPercivalWulfricBrianSun · 02/08/2007 15:00

Yes it's a greatest hits tour. I think he only played two from the new album and he played Muiscology which is fab but otherwise all oldies.

AlbusPercivalWulfricBrianSun · 02/08/2007 15:01

It's my HP name CD - I'm normally Sunshinemummy. I was really high up to one side of the stage. Bit disappointed with tickets as DP is an O2 customer so we got to order ours a day before they went on general release and we both agreed we'd have paid as much as was needed to be closer to the stage.

CountessDracula · 02/08/2007 15:02

oh I think we are too
best I could find
and yes I got on pre-sale too

They charged a lot for the good tickets didn't they?

AlbusPercivalWulfricBrianSun · 02/08/2007 15:11

We didn't get offered a choice - just got what we were given. Would have preferred to be able to choose. BTW he lets the people who are sat at the tables by the stage get on the stage with him at one point! I wondered if they were from his fan club as he did this when I saw him at Hammersmith before as well.
CD - you do have a good view of the whole thing but can't see him clearly as you're quite high up. Dome is fab - loads of restaurants, bars and a nightclub. Oh and aftershow is at the nightclub (it's called Indigo). You can buy tickets and he always plays at aftershows apparently.

OliviaMumsnet · 02/08/2007 15:14

Echoing Welshmum, please can you tell us what time did His Royal Purple Paisleyness come on stage?

Very very very very excited about my tickets next week (as everyone at HQ will vouch have been squeaking about it for weeks).

Also very pleased to hear that he always plays at the aftershows as I have tickets for that too.

I think he came on at about 20:30.

welshmum · 02/08/2007 15:25

Please, please, please tell us start and end times - have to decide on tickets in next 5 mins

welshmum · 02/08/2007 15:26

cross post - thanks albus person

NotQuiteCockney · 02/08/2007 15:27

Hmmm, now I am debating getting tix for the aftershow. We have preshow tix, too, though, so we will be down there for 6pm or something ridiculous like that.

AlbusPercivalWulfricBrianSun · 02/08/2007 15:29

I didn't get home until about 00:30 and we drove back to Earlsfield from Canary Wharf. I'd would definitely have got aftershow tickets if we'd thought about it in advance. The queue was too big to consider it afterwards.

OliviaMumsnet · 02/08/2007 15:33

What is the pre-show?

NotQuiteCockney · 02/08/2007 15:37

I don't actually know what the preshow is.

I didn't want to deal with the scrum, so bought special tix that were supposed to include a) really good seats, which they have and b) a boat trip to the venue. They have changed the boat trip to a preparty thing, with drinks, on site. It's at the "Backstage Bar", and includes a finger buffet and some beer or wine.

NotQuiteCockney · 02/08/2007 15:38

Sorry, preshow party. Not preshow.

I don't think anyone is performing at it.

AlbusPercivalWulfricBrianSun · 02/08/2007 16:56

Oh if the bar is the one you can see from the high seats it looks cool. No scrum though - very very good set up.

Cammelia · 02/08/2007 18:38

His Royal Purpleness came on stage at exactly 8:30 and finished at exactly 11:00 just like it said on the info. Very professional.

Yes we went to the pre-show thingy in the fab Backstage Bar which afforded a brilliant view of the arena to get you all excited, girls dressed in black wearing black gloves and everything, brought round trays of yummy canapes like little hot fishcakes, tiny vegetarian kebabs, stuff on blinis etc etc and you can have 4 glasses of wine free (or beer or fewer of spirits)each (I had 3 of lovely cold white wine, dh only had 1 as he was driving)
It was really cool and we chatted to complete strangers

Albus,
Oh yes forgot about the fact that at least half the audience left when Prince first went off stage at about 10:40 I just knew he'd come back and he did another brilliant 20 minutes So bad luck to anyone who thought "I'm going to be first out of the car park"

I didn't go to the aftershow as it looked like it would just be a disco and we had a 40 mile drive home but I'd be interested to know if Prince does go to them

Where did you get the info though?

Where did who get what info?

I think we will buy aftershow tix, on the hope we feel up for it. We are flying to Canada the next day, so a late night is a good idea really [insane].
