I thought it was time to move over here from Telly Addicts as we're now discussing Joseph the musical, and not Any Dream Will Do. The other thread was about to get too full anyway.

Damn, I'm off out now for the evening so I'll have to wait till tomorrow to hear the whole story.

BoingBoing · 08/08/2007 19:56

Where IS this lighthouse? The Orkneys?

BoingBoing · 08/08/2007 20:00

It's all right Oggs, I'm only pulling your leg. And wondering how on earth you're going to put into coherent sentences all this dribbling and drooling I suspect you've been doing for the past 24 hours!

oggsfrog · 08/08/2007 22:32

Sooo sorry. I've been derelict in my duties - this is the first chance I've had to get on here.

Right where was I?

Notwithstanding the bloody annoying child/ape and his two siblings sitting next to dd , the woman with the hair á la Amy Winehouse in front of us , and the man the size of a house and his fidgety wife who arrived a good 20 minutes into the performance and spent forever getting settled in their seats (also in front of us ), we all had a great time and could see most of the action.

Lee first appeared (to much shrieking, whistling and cheering) back at the top left of the stage behind a gauzy curtain, and came down diagonally to the centre - the curtain lifted and he was revealed in all his glory singing Any Dream Will Do.

How much detail do you want? I suspect I won't be able to provide the same level of detail as Binkle so wonderfully did

Part of the problem was that I didn't want to miss even the slightest flexing of any of Lee's muscles, so I spent most of the time peering through my binoculars at him. Consequently I missed whole chunks of the other action

BoingBoing · 08/08/2007 22:53

Hurrah!!!! Here's Oggs, just in time for me to go to bed.

Don't worry - I'm sure you saw ALL the action you wanted to. But I'd have smacked everyone around you with a rolled up newspaper and set alight to the Winehouse-barnet...or maybe not, you wouldn't want to have set off the fire alarms I suppose....

Fill us in on all the rest, but I'm off to bed. However, I'll leave you with this little gem I've just found - short & sweet

Happy dreams

oggsfrog · 08/08/2007 23:05

Aw, I can see this becoming a problem.

It's so much nicer to be able to interact with you all but I'm out again all day tomorrow so won't be able to get on here until the evening.

Thanks for that Boing - it's one of the ones I found last night in my marathon Leefest

Can't bloody listen to it at moment as speakers have become disconnected.
I've also found The Rolling Stones doing Paint It Black on Youtube.....I wanted to compare and contrast, but again I haven't been able to listen to it, just watch it. (Bleurgh... Mick Jagger is revolting)

LyraBelacqua · 08/08/2007 23:15

I'm back! Am now up to date with what I missed. We still need more detail Oggs, not necessarily of the show itself but all the Lee action. Did you go to the stage door afterwards? What did DD think of it all? Was it worth the wait?

binklehasflipped · 08/08/2007 23:17

soooo!!!! what did you make of the long socks then? Not as bad as you thought I bet!

He really is very good isnt he? The brothers are brill as well, particularly the shortish black guy - love it when they do the dancing all in white at the end...

and Oh! When Lee ascends at the end did you get a really good look at him then? He disappeared completely from view in the stalls at the bit

I am going again with dd and dh on 20th August and I'm revitalised with excitement about it all now.

oggsfrog · 08/08/2007 23:18

Oh, before I forget, Lee is Torso of the Week in Heat.
The photo is from Joseph. He's bare chested and wearing manacles

One thing. If any of you get it, look closely at the nipple and belly button area .
It looks to me like he's had to shave somewhat for the show .......

binklehasflipped · 08/08/2007 23:19

he does have extremely hairy legs...and great big 'obbit feet

LyraBelacqua · 08/08/2007 23:23

Don't look at the feet, Binkle, avert your gaze upwards...

LyraBelacqua · 08/08/2007 23:24

So, Oggs? Did you go to the stage door then?

oggsfrog · 08/08/2007 23:27

Well worth the wait Lyra. In fact I'm actually gutted now that it's all over. I'd give anything to see it again.

Binkle, still didn't get a really close look even when he ascended. In fact I missed some of that bit as I was focusing on his face and didn't realise that he was ascending...he just vanished from my line of sight and by the time I'd found where he went he was at the highest point.

I'm really crap at noticing everything and was saying to my Mum that ideally I would see it 3 times. Once to spend all the time zooming in on Lee with binoculars, once to see all the other action, and once to really listen to the voices.

I was really looking forward to Close Every Door. Like Binkle said you could have heard a pin drop....until the bloody simian child on our left noisily clambered onto the back of his chair and proceeded to eat what sounded like a bag of minstrels [anger] [anger]

It seemed to be over so soon

binklehasflipped · 08/08/2007 23:28

yes it's a horrible feeling being back out on the pavement afterwards.

oggsfrog · 08/08/2007 23:29

Bloody emoticons

No stage door groupie action to report I'm afraid

binklehasflipped · 08/08/2007 23:31

lol at Lee vanishing from your binoculars at the end

Have you still got rings around your eyes?

LyraBelacqua · 08/08/2007 23:31

Well that makes me feel better about the vast amounts of money I've spent on two sets of tickets for consecutive weeks. I'll be able to drool the second time because I'll be with a friend, not DP.

binklehasflipped · 08/08/2007 23:34

Oh Lyra, you will be on cloud nine for a full fortnight you lucky thing!! week three's gonna be a killer tho..

Oggs, did you spot lovely Adam hanging around the foyer - red coat, fairish hair, nice obliging looking fella?

oggsfrog · 08/08/2007 23:34
oggsfrog · 08/08/2007 23:37

He really has the most sublime voice.

The Mrs Potiphar scene where he is being pawed at and chased around the dias was very enjoyable

He looks quite beautiful in the chariot at the end.

Lovely thighs and calves. Even liked his feet and I'm not normally a foot person.

Benjamin very good. Not convinced about Preeya. Her voice isn't very remarkable.

£9 for 3 small tubs of ice cream

Pharoah excellent

Loved the Lee dance moments

Loved it all.

Clapped and clapped and even shrieked and woo woo'd

oggsfrog · 08/08/2007 23:39

No sign of Adam Binkle. The only men in the foyer were 2 very attractive black men.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I want to go again.

binklehasflipped · 08/08/2007 23:40

I woo-wooed too. Completely understandable!

oggsfrog · 08/08/2007 23:40

Lyra, you must promise to woo woo too

LyraBelacqua · 08/08/2007 23:44

I will woo woo

LyraBelacqua · 08/08/2007 23:46

I'm just picturing your face as you scrutinised every inch of poor Lee, like a specimen under the microscope
