I thought it was time to move over here from Telly Addicts as we're now discussing Joseph the musical, and not Any Dream Will Do. The other thread was about to get too full anyway.

I know what your DH is going through Berrie, my mum has terminal cancer and is receiving chemo at the mo for pain relief which ironically is making her feel much worse.

It's horrible watching your parent, your protector, crumble in front of your eyes. MN is a good escape from that, the light-heartedness really helps to ease the pressure of RL.

Berrie · 02/08/2007 21:24

Oh sorry Binkle, that must be so hard for you. Gosh it's hard to know what to say.

Berrie · 02/08/2007 21:24

Oh sorry Binkle, that must be so hard for you. Gosh it's hard to know what to say.

LyraBelacqua · 02/08/2007 23:38

So sorry to hear you're both going through a tough time Berrie and Binkle. I seem to know a lot of people going through a similar thing at the moment, which must be an age thing (everyone's parents are getting elderly).
DP's dad has been through something similar to your DH's dad Berrie. he's got all kinds wrong and he's come close to death a couple of times but still keeps hanging on. He's been ready to go for ages but the doctors keep prolonging things. He's living abroad in the sun so that's something at least.

BoingBoing · 03/08/2007 07:01

A very very big hug Berrie. I'm so sorry for what you (and everyone else here - Binkle, Lyra) are going through right now. I've not really any experience of this at all, so all I can do is offer you my deepest sympathies and pray that all goes as well as can be hoped for all of you. That and perhaps help to raise the odd smile, which I think is why we're all here really - Lee's thighs just happen to be the perfect excuse!

Berrie · 03/08/2007 07:42

Sorry everyone and thanks, self pity is not attractive, think I'll give the old hooch a miss tonight
So! If a magic fairy said that DH/DP had to swap a part of his body for a week with Lee, would you take the head or the bod?

BoingBoing · 03/08/2007 08:51

Don't worry Berrie, we all have our moments of wallowing in self pity. I'm fighing mine at the moment, so there you go!
But more importantly, head or bod... Hmmm. Toughy. Can I get back to you on that after I've had more coffee?

Berrie · 03/08/2007 09:13

What are you peed off about Boing?
The magic fairy says she'll throw the voice in with the head if that helps.

BoingBoing · 03/08/2007 09:19

Living on a bloody farm and having to look after bloody animals. Miles and miles from dearest friends. Married to someone I never see who's in an almost permanent bad mood because he hates working away to pay for all this and just wants to live on the adored farm with his adored animals. Wondering if I should just get the hell out or will it ruin my DS's life. Still, I've made an appointment to see a counsellor next week, which might help straighten my head out.

Sorry. This is why I try to avoid self pity. So.... back to those thighs!

Berrie · 03/08/2007 09:34

Hope it helps Boing. Counselling always makes me worse but then I was just deeply depressed rather than having any issues to sort out. It reminds me really how in terms of happiness, our relationships really are the most important thing rather than 'living the dream.' Are you from down there or did you relocate? Does he know quite how bad you feel? Ignore me if I'm being too nosey

Magic fairy taps foot...

LyraBelacqua · 03/08/2007 09:37

Oh dear, I think we all need some cheering up. I'll try and find some fresh Joseph pics to keep us going.
Now, head or bod. Lee's head on DP's body would look a bit odd, but so would the alternative.
I think I'd have to go for head (inc voice). Imagine running your fingers through that hair while he sings Close Every Door...

LyraBelacqua · 03/08/2007 09:40

Plenty of clips from the show here. i can't get them to work on my mac though

LyraBelacqua · 03/08/2007 09:42

Fabulous Joseph pics here.
Anyone feeling more cheerful yet??

BoingBoing · 03/08/2007 09:52

Thanks Berrie - yes, we relocated, although DH was more or less from down here originally. And I haven't really talked to him about it, although I'm pretty certain he's guessed. It sounds pathetic, but if I actually say it out loud there really is no going back because it is quite an uncompromising situation and it will break his heart as it would force him to choose. And obviously I'm pretty depressed about the whole thing as I know I have to face this sooner or later. However, I'm seeing the counsellor next week, and my very best friend for a very long weekend after that, which could get messy, but could help a great deal

Ooh Lyra - I'm liking the hair imagery - the head could certainly be the winner. But then we think about those thighs and pecs... this is such an enormous dilemma.

LyraBelacqua · 03/08/2007 09:56

Well, I'm perfectly willing to swap the whole of DP for the whole of Lee. Just for a weekend. Or a week. Maybe a month...

Berrie · 03/08/2007 09:57

OOo thanks. This might take some time Lyra...

Berrie · 03/08/2007 10:01

Not on offer Lyra ...these clips are fab! Boing will get back to you just having a Lee Orgy!

BoingBoing · 03/08/2007 10:10

Berrie, go orgy with my best wishes. I would too but they'd probably sack me. Still, he comes with me wherever I go in my car, and I did have a mini-fest last night and plan a rather larger fest later (DH not back until Tuesday).

Berrie · 03/08/2007 10:20

Boing which is the biggest issue? DH being away? Living away from your freinds or farm life in general?

Leefest is too good to spoil by being pestered by neglected children will do it later!

BoingBoing · 03/08/2007 10:53

Sorry Berrie, I think I'd better take this discussion elsewhere as this is looking strongly like a threadnap - so
here is where I've continued. Anyone else is free to come along, although honestly, my problems are just me whinging, so, guys, don't feel you have to!!!!

And I'm still pondering - pecs or hair?!!!

LyraBelacqua · 03/08/2007 11:25

Gotta be the hair, Boing. My DP has lost most of his hair and keeps the rest shaved short, so I can only dream about a man with Lee's curls.

Berrie · 03/08/2007 11:54

Oh mine too Lyra! But then dh has a large beer belly and a very hairy body. I might have to go for the body...it's a tough one and a bit freaky!

LyraBelacqua · 03/08/2007 12:05

Lee's head with beer bely and body hair But would your DH's head go with Lee's body? it's a really tough one, this

BoingBoing · 03/08/2007 13:45

Well if DH grew his hair, it would be very similar. Maybe he needs some persuasion. And he also has lovely eyes, although his singing voice is rubbish. OK, maybe I should go for the bod after all....

Riss70 · 03/08/2007 13:56

Wow - we did that as a play when I was at school - I still remember some of the songs....

It is an amazing musical
