Anyone got any particular highlights?

The Killers were amazing on Saturday night.

ediemay - I was there in 85 too. It's the only time I've ever seen mud flow...

We slept in our car, next to two blokes who had turned up in a custard-yellow Rolls Royce! The windows of our car steamed up every night as we tried to dry our clothes. We were there for the Bunnymen, how about you?

And DH was there for Fri/Sat this year; he came back so spattered in mud that he looked like a piece of abstract art...

I agree about the Arctic Monkeys - the drummer is incredible

Hi vonsudenfed! Yes, I remember McCulloch stumbling about on stage, completely trashed! I fell in love with ian Dury that year and cried my eyes out by the main stage in 2000 when he was too poorly to come & play his slot

ediemay · 25/06/2007 14:04

The car broke down on the way back and we had to get a bus in Bristol. Driver refused to let us on because we were so filthy so we had to have a scrub in the bus station sinks!!

vonsudenfed · 25/06/2007 14:08

Oh yes, I did love the Bunnymen, whatever state they were in!

The good news is that - according to the papers - he's already got the licence for 2008. I'm fully intending to be there then - this year I had to decide about the tickets only a few months after dd was born, and so I couldn't face it! Given the weather, I don't mind at all.

I live really close, and it's been bucketing it down since 4am. I tried to get the car into the garage today, but the woman told me there's no one there, they're all down at the site hauling cars out of the mud. Mmmm that sounds like fun.

vonsudenfed · 25/06/2007 14:09

Hehe! We stopped at the first service station on the way back to the Midlands - only we couldn't have much of a wash because the basins were just clogged with mud- everyone else had the same idea!

sparklesandwine · 25/06/2007 14:11

all adds to the fun of it though ediemay what fab times eh?

the problem i have is that my memory is somewhat hazy from my times there and i barely remember who i saw out of 5 times going i can only remember seeing the cure, lenny kravitz, velvet underground, prodigy and portishead thats quite shameful isn't it - wonder if you can get hold of previous lineups to jog my memory!

mozzybear · 25/06/2007 14:14

I admire you lot who aren't fazed by the camping thing. I camped at T in the Park 99. Festival was awesome but camping was a nightmare, and it didn't rain once... not even for Travis (who for some dumb reason were in a rather packed tent).

And how the hell do you find your tent anyway?

sparklesandwine · 25/06/2007 14:16

lol not sure that i ever managed to get back to the tent actually think i just stayed awake wondering around in an induced haze for the weekend!

ediemay · 25/06/2007 14:19

Hi sparkels, I'm going out now but tell me which years and I will dig out programmes! Mozzy - always take at least 2 flags for the tent!!

grouchyoscar · 25/06/2007 14:30

EdieMay...McCulloch...pissed out of his head.....NEVER!

Heh heh heh Ah for all their misses, the Bunnymen were/are fab, love em to death. They got me through a difficukt adolesence.

Carter still sound fresh 15 years later. Wonder who from this year we can say that about in 2022.

Wisteria · 25/06/2007 14:46

They've got the license for 08 & 09 only have to renew it once every 3 years!! My youngest dd told me last night she wanted to go next year, so I'll see you there!
Take a really tall flagpole! We always decorate our tent in ridiculous ways to ensure we find it (still missed it in the pre-children years of course ah-hem )

Babyramone · 25/06/2007 16:10
