Anyone got any particular highlights?

The Killers were amazing on Saturday night.

I enjoyed Amy Winehouse's set. She was surprisingly sober I thought.

allgonebellyup · 25/06/2007 12:11

yes killers were fab

and lily allen

laneydaye · 25/06/2007 12:13

jessica did you not see her trying to introduce her band???? or are you joking?
Nice! What a role model

sparklesandwine · 25/06/2007 12:21

lol i thought amy winehouse was a bit wired too thought she took ages to introduce her band on the jazz stage and then didn't really seem like she could be arsed to sing many songs imo

But i loved the killers set it sent goosepimples down my arms i thought it was so good we sat with DS1 and watched it again on Sunday morning (DS1 loves the killers) thought just jack anf the kooks were really good aswell

i was so of the people there grrrrr

Jessicatmagnificat · 25/06/2007 12:32

Laney - I fast forwarded through that bit as she was rambling. But I thought she was coherent when singing. Don't tell me I missed a classic Winehouse moment????

laneydaye · 25/06/2007 12:34

My word she was brilliant if you like watching drunks make a show of themself!! we laughed so much and then thought well really this isnt funny!

slowreader · 25/06/2007 12:35

Arcade Fire sounded good.
Loved not being in all that mud.

southeastastra · 25/06/2007 12:35

they cut amy's songs didn't they, as she had taken so long to introduce her band. thought she was very good!

loved kasabian the best

Oblomov · 25/06/2007 12:38

Amy Winehouse was good. I don't like HER. Was she drunk ? If was VERY slow, between songs. She didn't engage the crowd at all. I know Robbie Williams is the extreme but he is the master for including the crowd.

ediemay · 25/06/2007 12:38

My favourite bits this year:

Iggy's stage invasion
Lily Allen - Gangsters
Get Cape. Waer Cape. Fly
Ms Bassey
Marley Brothers
Arctic Monkeys - 505
Kaiser Chiefs
Gossip

The first time since 1985 that I wsan't there!
It felt very strange

mozzybear · 25/06/2007 12:40

Lol,, I agree Slowreader. Best view was def from my sofa with a bar of Dairy Milk Caramel.

Enjoyed the Manics, but then, I always do

Found Zane Lowe and Edith Bowman intensly irratating though. Jo Whiley was her usual "Love everyone" self.

I agree mozzy and it made me miss John Peel even more. It's worth going just to miss the awful presenters

mozzybear · 25/06/2007 12:50

What annoyedme about Edith was her raving about the Editors. Now, I agree, The Editors were superb...but she's knocking boots with the lead singer which may enhance her experience of the set.

No one comes close to John Peel's understated enthusiasm. Miss him lots.

Amy W's hair was amazing, given the weather

anypne else think phil jupitus is a bit of a tit? or is it just me

Oblomov · 25/06/2007 12:54

The presenters were painful. Did you see them interviewing Paul weller - who clearly didn't want to be interviewed - AWFUL.

Sparklesandwine - I used to really (I mean REALLY like) like Phil Jupitus , but he looked and WAS awful.

ediemay · 25/06/2007 12:56

I didn't mind Phil and I quite like Lauren. It was Zane and Colin (and his botty problems) which really got me down. Give me the mud any day!

Manictigger · 25/06/2007 13:04

I agree as well Mozzy (especially about the Manics ) but what was it with the Killers - I started off liking them but ended up getting really fed up with them because they seemed to be shown on all freeview channels all the time? In fact the whole editing seemed crap, why did they never seem to show anything (apart from headliners) live? Everything seemed to be recorded to be shown in pieces half an hour later. With 4 freeview channels you'd have thought they could have dedicated a couple to showing the 2 main stages live at least for the late afternoon and evening. Anyone on here from the BBC who can explain this to me? And there was I, so excited to have Freeview in time for Glastonbury (how sad am I?)

And I would have loved to have seen the Iggy stage invasion and heard him shout 'Don't punch the clown!' (It'll prob be shown in 2010 moan moan.....)

sparklesandwine · 25/06/2007 13:05

yes i don't mind lauren either but the interim talking thing they did when they thought the killers had finished their set was awful - how painful it was to watch

ediemay · 25/06/2007 13:07

I agree - especially when I could have been having a hot cider in the Avalon field....
