Anyone got any particular highlights?

The Killers were amazing on Saturday night.

manictigger the iggy pop stage invasion was fabulous absolutely brilliant

ediemay · 25/06/2007 13:09

especially the people who had a banner campaigning for the return of Wispa bars!

sparklesandwine · 25/06/2007 13:09

i was sat all misty eyed watching it thinking of days gone by and lost weekends there

ediemay · 25/06/2007 13:09

Don't! You will set me off again!

sparklesandwine · 25/06/2007 13:10

pmsl ediemay

sparklesandwine · 25/06/2007 13:11

DP has never been and i was trying to explain what it was like but he just didn't understand, bless him - must try and get tickets next time for him obviously

ediemay · 25/06/2007 13:14

I got tickets for me and DP in 02 and he was horrified! I took my best friend instead and we had a ball, as always. Next year I'm taking DS and doing FAMILY CAMPING, oh the horror!!!

sparklesandwine · 25/06/2007 13:18

lol good luck - how old are your DC's?

DP did manage to get tickets last time but his boss wouldn't let him have the time off (bastard) so we returned them - i cried for days

mozzybear · 25/06/2007 13:22

Quite right Manictigger. The Killers were good.. on Sat night. But I've seen them atleast 4 times since then. Would have loved to se something different. After all, thats the whole idea of Glasto.

Thought Mark Radcliffe was good on the presenter front. At least he doesn't love EVERYONE!

mozzybear i was really suprised by him actually i didn't think i'd like him - i just remember his radio 1 days with lard and i found them really annoying together, but he was good at presenting

ediemay · 25/06/2007 13:36

He gets my vote too. Right, you can all come to my tent next year for hot cider!

donnie · 25/06/2007 13:40

best bands were CSS and Editors. Killers also good if a bit too stagey.

How anyone can think Lily Allen has any talent at all is beyond me.

sparklesandwine · 25/06/2007 13:43

i quite like her album but she didn't exactly look classy on stage singing with a fag hanging out of her mouth

ediemay · 25/06/2007 13:43

I enjoyed shouting abuse at The Who

grouchyoscar · 25/06/2007 13:46

Went in 1992...Hell 15 years ago, I'm getting old! I remember seeing Carter USM, Billy Bragg, Catherine Wheel, The Stairs, Cud, Levellers and Lou Reed, oh and Rob Newman in the comedy tent

I woneder if The Joe Bananas Blanket Stall is still there.....But FFW to 2007....

Phill Jupitus has turned into a parody of himself. He was well annoying

Mark Radcliffe was A1 as always (cept the bit after the Artic Monkies when he was just wired.)

Lauren Laverne is just sublime...Can anyone remember if Kenikie ever played Glasto?

Though Iggy was superb. I noted that those condemned to be leading the decline of Western Civilisation at some point (Iggy, Bowie, Alice Cooper, Lou Reed, John Lydon et al) have now become the statesmen of rock IYKWIM

Bjork was just ....oooooo....smashing.

Killers so good it hurt
Editors were suprisingly good (alway wrote them off as lightweights)

Did anyone see the glorious Ed Harcourt?

Oh and Shirley was fantastic.

John Peel, sadly missed, never forgotten xx.

sparklesandwine · 25/06/2007 13:48

oooh ooooh groucyoscar i was at that one too love carter usm (still!)

ediemay · 25/06/2007 13:50

You think you're old? My first time was 1985, famous for rivers of mud! We drove there from London in someone's brother's car - you could drive onto the campsite and park by your tent! Ian Dury, Echo & the Bunnymen (all pissed) and Joe Cocker, who went off for a sulk when everyone threw mud at his white suit!

mozzybear · 25/06/2007 13:52

I quite liked Mark and Lard. Still snigger at the thought of Wyclef Jean decontamination booths!!

Off topic, Mark Radcliffe's book is really good. "Diary of a rock and roll nobody" I think its called.

ediemay · 25/06/2007 13:52

By the way, Joe Banana's was still there last year

ediemay · 25/06/2007 13:53

sorry I mean 05

sparklesandwine · 25/06/2007 13:53

lol ediemay you must be really old

i've been to 5 glastonbury's and it never once rained in fact the weekends were always glorious maybe if i go again the sun will shine LOL

ediemay · 25/06/2007 13:53

I hope Michael Eavis doesn't have to skip 2008, after all this rain I guess it's possible

filthymindedvixen · 25/06/2007 13:54

I liked the Editors a lot. And I am warming to the Kaiser Chiefs. But tell no-one!
I liked Amy Winehouse far more than I was expecting to...
And I have new respect for the arctic monkeys having seen them live. They were so tight and fantastic.

tbh, I long for more highlights from the rest of the festival, like people just wandering round getting muddy, and some of the wonderfully bizarre stuff hapenning elsewhwere. Not just Main Stage yawny stuff.

ediemay · 25/06/2007 13:55

I am ancient but still loving it!!
85 is the only one I don't have a programme from (apart from this year). I think it must have melted in the mud!

Wisteria · 25/06/2007 13:59

I've got Carter on my dogwalking MP3 player - saw them in 92 in Frankfurt and they all came out for a session after - ahhh great times.

Mika - what a surprise, brilliant performer and I love the big girls one....made me want to dance, good honest pop music

Martha Wainwright making an appearance with her bro' that was good

Amy Winehouse - love her, she's wonderful and her backing singers were true class - still get dead excited at her rendition of Monkeyman

Marley Bro - WOW!!!

Annoyed at the way they projected all the Chemical Bros graphics onto the screen instead of just letting us watch the set as it was, don't know why just irritated me (probably needed to have been on loads of acid to appreciate it)
