The last film that made me all snotty from laughing like a crazy person was Little Miss Sunshine. Made even funnier by the fact i was watching it in my village hall, and was the youngest person there by 40 years, and no one else was finding it very funny.

Before that Bottle Rocket made me cry laughing alot - i loved it, but have never met anyone else whose seen it.

What films make you laugh so much it hurts?

OP posts:

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels - when Michael Caine runs up and whacks Steve Martin on the legs with a stick to see if he could feel it.

Gangle · 26/04/2007 15:09

Meet the Fockers and Meet the Parents - both hilarious.

Flamesparrow · 26/04/2007 15:09

Oh god yes D.R.S.!!!

With the cork on the fork to stop him hurting himself!!!

wassername · 26/04/2007 16:05

Love Woody Allen ans early Steve Martin stuff, but I have to vote for Spinal Tap as my all time favourite I think...any other fans out there?

KarWildcard · 26/04/2007 16:18

Where do I start?! Love the bit in Love Actually where Hugh Grant dances ... Bridget Jones where the guy says "it's a fight, a real fight!" during It's Raining Men .... of course also Meet the Family, Something about Mary ....A night at the museum, where the T-Rex nudges the bone over ...

rislip · 26/04/2007 16:19

Bad Santa kills me and Anchorman.

Ivor · 26/04/2007 16:25

Don't normally like Will Ferrell too much but loved Stranger than Fiction, some really good LOL moments.

MrsWho · 26/04/2007 20:13

What was the kids film with Hugh Jackman? voicing the mouse that went down the sewer and the singing slugs? I got told off for laughing too loud at the pictures when we went to see that

lucykate · 26/04/2007 20:15

parenthood
something about mary

national lampoons christmas vacation is hilarious

yacketyblah · 26/04/2007 20:22

Agree with tons of these, esp Steve Martin stuff and omg yes Spinal Tap.

Dodgeball was the last one that had me laughing out loud. Can't remember which bits though.

Also guffawed hugely during Bruce Almighty when he had the news reader talking gibberish.

BandofMothers · 26/04/2007 20:25

Wallace and Gromit for sure, and Shrek.
Or do they have to be grown up films.

BandofMothers · 26/04/2007 20:26

MRS WHO, Flushed Away. Took DD1 to see that and prepped her as first time at cinema, said she had to be quiet and sit still etc.

Several bits were so funny me and DH LOLed and she shushed us. Hilarious.

cymrukernow · 26/04/2007 20:27

Footloose - so bad it's good.

plibble · 26/04/2007 20:27

Zoolander, Somethign about Mary, and totally agree about Little Miss Sunshine (I roared)

BandofMothers · 26/04/2007 20:27

LOL Yack, Bruce Almighty had me in stitches. Must read more carefully in future and put it all on 1 post

NadineBaggott · 26/04/2007 20:28

Blazing Saddles
My Cousin Vinny
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
Young Frankenstein

dh loves Woody Allen - I can't abide him

BandofMothers · 26/04/2007 20:29

Knight's Tale, the character WOT (sp?) was hilarious.

BandofMothers · 26/04/2007 20:30

And Chaucer, maybe not you.........PMSL

MrsWho · 26/04/2007 20:37

Thanks BoM!

Donk · 26/04/2007 21:05

'Support your local gunfighter' had me still chortling the next day when I watched it in my teens - I thought James Garner had brilliant comic timing.
Chicken Run had me rolling around the floor of the cinema - to the great embarrassment of dh.
Other films have been very funny/amusing, but not led to the complete loss of control that these did.

Prunerli · 26/04/2007 21:07

I've seen Bottle Rocket!
Though....I liked Rushmore much better
And The Royal Tenenbaums is glorious
Wes Anderson...swoon.

slayerette · 26/04/2007 21:08

The last film that had me in tears with laughter was the opening scene of Music and Lyrics - Hugh Grant in that 80s New Romantic-style band - the music video? The funniest thing I've seen for ages. And another vote for his dance in Love Actually...and his fight scenes in Bridget Jones.

Hopeitwontbebig · 26/04/2007 21:10

Meet the Parents

CountTo10 · 26/04/2007 21:15

There's Something about mary
Golden Child
The fight scene in Bridget Jones
Bruce Almighty - the scene where Carrey uses his powers to take over the tv presenters body

Bellbird · 26/04/2007 23:00

Best in Show; Taxi and Taxi 2 (Luc Besson)yep they're French and FUNNY (nice lead actor); The Man with Two Brains and Some Like it Hot - Tony Curtis doing a British voice is hilarious in itself.
