What is the oddest song you've heard played at a funeral?

We had a family funeral and no-one knew what the deceased liked musically as they died at a great vintage...so as the curtains closed...the Enmerdale theme tune was played 👀 Apparently she enjoyed watching it.
Cannot now hear the credits without smiling.

Frank Turners Eulogy got a few laughs at a funeral I was at recently. Totally appropriate for the person too.

A close family member had ‘When a knight won his spurs.’ Yes, he was a primary school teacher.

His funeral finished with ‘My old man’s a dustman.’

Both completely appropriate for him.

Disco inferno by the trammps at a cremation 😬 the words burn baby burn was quite fitting.

My Mum was a Vicar and said she had to work hard to not do the actual skip/dance when someone was carried out to 'Bring Me Sunshine'.

My uncle - Glory glory Tottenham Hotspur (the only love of his life so was so appropriate and chosen by him)

My friends mum - Feeling hot hot hot (as the curtains closed for a cremation) We all started laughing which is in sure exactly what she wanted

Sometimes you just can't help but fall into the rhythm of a song. A funeral I went to (this is probably outing for anyone else who was there - god bless you Kate!), the pallbearers were trying so hard not to bop to this one. Gave us a right chuckle which is probably exactly what she wanted! It kicked in literally as they walked through the door, they couldnt have timed it more perfectly

My Mum insisted that Meatloaf's Bat Out Of Hell should be played at my Dad's funeral. It was his favourite song. Made us all smile, despite the sadness.

My grandad had the song from The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.

A friend had a selection from electric dance music. She was dance mad and sadly passed at barely 40, leaving young children. She wanted upbeat music and to remind us of happy times.

My mum had upbeat songs, with the lighthouse family,a few Ed Sheeran and a cheeky Daniel O Donnell number.

Another one bites the dust…… only joking😏

One of my uncles wanted 'Always Look On The Bright Side of Life' but it got vetoed by other family members....

A friend of mine had Always Look on The Bright Side of Life. We weren't expecting it and it made everyone smile at a very sad funeral as she'd died young.

I know a family with the surname Trott and the deceased was known as Trotter so he had the Only Fools and Horses theme on the way out.

I also know a woman who had I Do Like To Be Beside The Seaside at her funeral.

I think it's great when someone has something fun or upbeat at the funeral.

We had that at my mums funeral. We wanted people to skip out.

When my dad died I wanted Straight to Hell by The Clash. He was a massive music lover, a Clash fan and a bit of a character. He would have loved it.

Unfortunately my siblings vetoed it, so I chose Shine On You Crazy Diamond instead by Pink Floyd, the long version 😊

A family friend organised her own funeral and we walked out to 'Ding Dong the Witch is Dead'. It was so her! 😊

My dad picked Ring of Fire by Johnny Cash. And little old ladies were boogying out to it, which really made me laugh, and would have made dad laugh too.

My sister had 'la bamba' at hers (her son was 8 at the time and that was the song that reminded him of her'.

She was only 35 when she died and she picked the other songs which is really annoying as she picked songs that are played relatively often on the radio so always get the reminder.

These are fab. Ex Hs uncle, Rawhide. Funeral at the end and out blasts "Rollin, Rollin, Rollin...." nearly pissed myself as we are trying to do the slow shuffle out the crem.

I remember hearing on the radio that a family had requested the song from Robin Hood, but hadnt actually specified they meant "Everything I Do, I Do it for you".

"Robin Hood, Robin Hood Riding Through The Glen" was played instead 😂

I spoke The Red Flag at mum's burial, then at the wake I had I Am Woman, and Tougher Than The Rest. My sister put in Bread and Roses and then some classical stuff I can't remember and wouldn't recognise now.

We played Born To Be Wild at my nan's funeral - but the version by the Ukelele Orchestra of Great Britain. She and my grandad used to go on motorbike holidays when they were young and she bloody loved UOGB versions of songs so it was very apt!
