@Frugal25
Oh I've come across "those" mum's in the wild. They are a special species with a particularly good skill in bullshit. Your little one has you as a Mum and will therefore do brilliantly x

Thanks for asking @Frugal25 I would describe my current state as "life is certainly pulling a fast one on me".

You are brilliant at getting to the crux of the matter in hand and make me howl with laughter every time , never change 🤣

I am currently battling with the Asda app trying to amend an order by 11pm - no food is showing up in the search, have cleared cache, restarted phone, readded app - still no feckin apples or grapes! So I decided to add a quick post on here.

@Frugal25 totally agree with dirt and deep fried on this - these mums walk among us! I feel a bit sorry for the kids, you just keep doing what you're doing.

@DeepFriedCreamEgg life certainly does at times. Hope things get better soon 🙏

Was at an event for work today so I got fed.
£1.85 in Costa for a bag of crisps

£7.41 Aldi

Back to the Asda App if it doesn't work this time, stuff them and I'll get the rest of the shop somewhere else!

Frugal25 · 22/05/2026 07:04

So glad it's not just me @DeepFriedCreamEggand @lockin26 thank you sweetie. I may not go to the thing we said we would attend and meet them there (we didn't swap numbers so can't tell her) but seeing as it's a weekly activity for them we won't be missed anyway. Like @DirtyGertiefromno30 said, you make me cry with laughter too, thank you!!
So sorry life is pulling a fast one. Anything we can do to help? Hope you're getting support from family too.
@Lockin26did the app work in the end? Hate modern technology at times

DeepFriedCreamEgg · 22/05/2026 08:30

@Frugal25
Just be unwell next week :-) case of the can'tbearseditous perhaps?
Bless you for asking think it's just something time needs to resolve.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 22/05/2026 14:53

Afternoon everyone 🤗
£29 in Morrisons for a pedestal fan for Mum , some cheese , chicken wings and noodles .
Boiling hot here and l am on my 3rd washing load drying on the line yay! .
Hope you got the Asda app to behave & you are ok @Lockin26 🤞😁.
Hope you did whatever you wanted to do afterwards and are having a great day @Frugal25 🤗.
Hope everyone is ok 🤗
Especially @lifelongfrugaleer, @DeepFriedCreamEgg,@RumBananaSundaeand anyone else l have left out.

Yes @Frugal25 and @DirtyGertiefromno30 it finally said we have a problem at our end and then was resolved when I got home. Got the delivery at 7am this morning which had freed up a few hours otherwise spent in Lidl.

Couple of frugal wins this week. Sold 3 items on Vinted. Picked up some free coat hangers for the coat rail I now have in the attic - I'm clearing out as much as possible to create a new wardrobe (as cheaply as possible!)

So far a NSD although the Asda shop will go through at some point 🙏

drspouse · 22/05/2026 16:22

£75 in Tk Maxx for clothes/bits for DD birthday on Sunday plus £6 coffee. Only 3 takeaway coffees this week and no lunches bought.
We'll have takeaway later though.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 22/05/2026 17:10

Oh lovely @drspouseenjoy your takeaway 😁. Happy birthday to your DD for Sunday bless her 🥳 🎈 🎉.
Glad you got the Asda order through @Lockin26 good for you selling in Vinted too . I have just bought 2 Ragdolls from there £19 for the 2 of them . They are for my Mum she has one she loves and they have lost it at her home . Don't ask me how the hell they lost it but there you are 🙄

DD lost her sun hat. Then another one this week. I've checked the fridge! And the cat cupboard. Coz she has form. Funny where they hide things. Found one of my candles in her back pack this week. Apparently it was so she could go camping.

Enjoy your takeaway @DirtyGertiefromno30 delicious.

£8 on a pump for the paddling pool. I normally do it by lung power and nearly faint. Not this year!
£28 for gymnastics classes for a month.

So my chair and sofa broke. I've had them since I moved out aged 24. They have so many memories. Friends sleeping over on them. Friends sitting and chatting. My cats sitting on them. Breaking up with my ex sat on them. Getting to know OH sat on them, bringing my DD home and placing her on them. Family slobbing out on them. They broke a while back and I've clung on to them. OH marched me to DFS today and paid for my choice of a very nice set of sofas to replace bless him. It will be lovely to sit on chairs that aren't broken, but I am a bit sad.

Beautiful weather here. Had a friend over and sat out in the garden. Just gorgeous.

drspouse · 23/05/2026 19:12

£4 for DD cycling, £7.50 for Gaviscon, coffee £4.50, lunch £14.50 as a bribe for DD to do the hard bit of cycling club, and £16 in Aldi mainly bits for tea (which DD made, or rather she told DH what to do).

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 23/05/2026 19:32

Sofas and other items hold so many memories without us even realising until it comes to getting rid @Frugal25🤗. No wonder you feel sad letting them go. My DH and l can't let go of his suits , his wedding one and the one l first saw him in on my 18th birthday 🤣❤️. But how lovely of your DH to take you to DFS and treat you to a beautiful new set. You deserve comfy furniture that isn’t broken😊. The new sofas will end up holding all the next memories too ❤️. What a day you have had , sunshine, a friend for coffee in the garden and new sofas on the way, just lovely 👏☀️.
Gaviscon has gone up a lot @drspouse good stuff though 👍.
Well done to your DD for doing the hard cycling work bless her, great idea, bribery will get you a long way with teenagers 😁

That's lovely of your OH @Frugal25

The weather has been beautiful here @DirtyGertiefromno30 . Alas we were indoors today which was pre-booked - e go-karting and out for food. Was a lovely day though. Tomorrow I am having a garden day!

Good on your DD for organising tea @drspouse

Quite spendy today
£21.03 Asda
£19.82 Lidl
£23 drinks and snacks in Go Karting place. Normally better organized but I had a bad nights sleep.
£41.25 Pub food and drinks for two

DeepFriedCreamEgg · Yesterday 10:01

@Frugal25
Congratulations!
You've entered a new level of adulthood having a pump for a swimming pool. You will have a pump for balloons next.

A rough day in the eggy world today quite frankly my brain is scrambled eggs.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · Yesterday 16:59

Oh I love a garden day. We all need many more of them I'm sure.
@DeepFriedCreamEggscrambled eggs are my fave so don't you worry. Did the day improve?
So glad you're having a happy day @DirtyGertiefromno30 this makes me very happy.

£6.99 today on a magazine for DD. We are in Sussex for a few days so went to nymans today for a couple of hours. Just beautiful there. Must remember national trust gift shop near Christmas as they have some fabulous bits I know people would love.

Frugal25 · Yesterday 18:09

Forgot to say @DeepFriedCreamEgg I did also get a balloon pump this week. I'm a complete adult!!! Yippee.
