How much is your weekly food shop?

Hi all,

Im struggling at the moment with the amount of money I spend of a food shop and just wanted to be able to compare it to others.

please state how much your food shop is, how many people it is for and where you bought it?

About £120 per week Tesco delivery and only minor too ups, £20 a week on those? That’s for 2 adults and includes some wine, beer, and a fair amount of meat.

About £100
Just did my online shop there and it was £93. However after deals (3 for 2 etc) it came to £81.
That was -
9 meals for 2 people
4 lunches for 1 person
Fresh fruit and veg
Frozen fruit
Cat food
Snacks/extras like biscuits, peanut butter etc

I used to be able to do the same shop for around £50/£60. 2 adults and 2 cats here.

When we’re both at home for a full week, £75 a week (including free from stuff and cleaning stuff but not toiletries) - mixture of Sainsburys, Lidl and local corner shop.

2 adults, one with a weird mix of allergies (me)

About £60 a week for two adults and one elderly adult. Not including milk- we have left over milk from my cafe. We probably spend another £100 or more per week feeding animals though!

About £130. Dh and I work from home, and Ds only attends morning nursery, so that that’s all meals, all drinks or snacks etc , all week at home

Around £200 per week including basic toiletries and cleaning products. 2 adults 2 older kids, also coeliac and lactose free which pushes cost up. Mainly Sainsburys.

On average it’s now about £250 - 2 adults and 2 teens. Big shop in Tesco and then I buy meat from local butcher. Dog food separate so another £100 a month for that…..

Tesco for 4 adults and zooplus for 1 cat

Averages out at about 150-200 PW atm.

We shop at Aldi and it ranges from £70-£100 per week. Two adults and a 1 year old.

Aren’t you going to give us that information too, amount, no of people and where?

250-300 for 4 adults (3 men) mostly M&S, Waitrose and Sainsbury's but we shop around for the branded stuff eg big boxes of Daz from Home Bargains. Includes booze, most toiletries (not my nice stuff) and cleaning products.

Absolutely fucking loads. I don’t want to think about it too hard and I’m certainly not adding it up in case it makes me cry. But lots. Two adults, one teen and a very greedy cat.

Just me £40-50 and I buy lunch at work once or twice a week and probably eat out or have a takeaway another meal.

£40- £70 a week. Split between Aldi & Sainsbury's. 1 adult, 1 child.
We are both pescatarian, so no meat, but i can probably spend £30 on fruit & veg. I batch cook a lot & meal plan each week to avoid food waste.

About £110 a week.
Family of 4, 2 adults and 2 Dc.

We shop at Aldi, Asda & Morrisons.

in May I have spent £586 for one adult, 2 teens, 2 cats. averages £146 pw.
My average over the last 12 months is £124 pw (£6437 for the year - YIKES!!)

That includes food and non food groceries.
It's definatly creeping up.

We don't eat much meat and I usually shop at Lidl.

2 adults, 1 pre-schooler. Aldi/Sainsburys and typically £50-60 per week.

That covers 21 breakfasts & dinners, but only 11 lunches as nursery and work cover the rest.

The big weekly shop is around £180 from Ocado maybe varying by 20ish or so up or down, with a top up of fresh bits of around £30 from either Sainsbury's or Waitrose, depending where we are.

That covers 5 of us, 4 adults and 1 teen, with eating out once a week.

It includes cleaning products and toilet rolls etc but not toiletries or dog food.

It could be a lot less easily, but we are lucky enough to not need to worry about it.

Two adults. £80-90/week, which is everything except dog food. We haven't had a takeaway for over a year and can't eat out because DH is too frail.

£651 in May includes all cleaning products and alcohol, also pet rabbit food. 4 adults 2 of which are vegetarian.

£80-100 for 3 adults though 3rd adult buys own breakfast and lunch bits. Generally that includes 3 hello fresh meals too

Around £70 pw including cat food. Rising to nearer £90 is adult dc is home from university holidays.
We don't eat much meat, maximum 2ce per week, shop at Sainsburys and Aldi plus a local market.

We budget £110 per week, sometimes under, sometimes over which balances out generally.

2 adults, 2 kids, Sainsburys.

£200 a week 1 adult 4 kids 3 are teens/ preteens.

£150-160 per week from Tesco. 3 adults, 1 teen, 1 late primary age.

That includes all toiletries and cleaning products and dry food for four cats. We buy their wet food pouches separately and it costs £75 extra a month for those.

This doesn’t include alcohol, if I fancy wine I will nip to the local shop to buy it separately but that’s not every week.
