About 100 two adults two kids

OnehundredStars · 29/05/2024 14:51

Sorry Lidl is where I shop and I batch cook and keep everything so I save money that way eg if I use half a pepper I cut the other into slices and keep in the freezer for a stir fry. I make lots of curries and mince and freeze into portions and one night a week we have something like steak. I never get takeaways

Watchwatchmymysteedsteedgogofarfar · 29/05/2024 14:52

We do a monthly food shop which is £150.
The top up shops each week for £30-50.
Somehow I managed to spend £90 this weekend though as a 'top up' . It's so hard. Shop at lidl/aldi and I know it's gone up a lot in the past few years.

Treesaleaving · 29/05/2024 14:52

300 per month, 1 adult and 1 child. This includes toiletries and household items. I very rarely eat meat these days and treats for me are cut to a minimum.
I hate it.

Watchwatchmymysteedsteedgogofarfar · 29/05/2024 14:53

Probably about £100 a week. Lidl/aldi. Two adults and three hungry yet fussy children

OnehundredStars · 29/05/2024 14:53

I meant to add I buy the washing powder and everything from Lidl and the refill hand soap is so cheap and perfect (think it’s almond) the men’s antiperspirant is as good as Mitchum. I make my own pancakes and flapjacks so that saves a lot of money.

Monthly shop 2 adults,2 teens,3 toddlers,1 dog,2 cats £210-20 Tesco and top up each week milk,bread,fruit,veg £30-40

Friarclose · 29/05/2024 14:54

Eeeden · 29/05/2024 15:00

Ours is out of control. It's about £150 a week with at least 1 £50 if not 2 £50 top up shops each week. There are 5 of us.

Eeeden · 29/05/2024 15:01

Tescos

Cattery · 29/05/2024 15:06

Three adults. Roughly £250 a week including wine, beers and household items ie toiletries etc
Edited to add: Tesco

Username917778 · 29/05/2024 15:09

I am for around £100 for a big shop split about £60/£40 in aldi/tesco but then tend to top up mid week about £30-£50. 2 adults and 2 under <12.

Devilsmommy · 29/05/2024 15:12

£120 a week for 2 adults 1 toddler. Tesco's. Tbh it's probably more with top ups sometimes 🙄

Wafflefudge · 29/05/2024 15:16

I think after top ups it will be over £200 a week. 2 adults, 2 children.
Tesco And top ups from coop.
Really need to cut it down but its difficult.

shiningstar2 · 29/05/2024 15:16

2 adults. I dog. Includes toiletries, cleaning products. 6 bottles wine(to share over the month? £400 to £450

shiningstar2 · 29/05/2024 15:17

Just added up top ups more like £450 to £500 😁

Noticeimnotreacting · 29/05/2024 15:17

£70 every 10 days (I went from 7 to 10 days to help with my budget). 4 of us me and 3 dc (15-20). Tesco delivery helps me not impulse buy. I meal plan. Bulk buy. Batch cook. Lots of chilli, curry, spag bol that I can bulk out. Meat tends to be chicken pieces or mince. I chop and freeze any pepper, onions etc that will not be used. Always have a few extra cheap meals egg/beans on toast/jacket potato etc. I freeze any leftovers into single portions. Lunches are sandwiches if kids are at work/school. I'm at home all the time so have either Leftovers, tinned tomatoes on toast, fruit toast, homemade soup etc anything cheap. I buy the lowest brand I can get away with. Buy extra when on offer.

Greycheck · 29/05/2024 15:18

I think about 200 a week for 4 adults and one pre teen not including pets. I am going to track for June to have a better idea as money seems to be going nowhere at the moment.

SagittariusUprising · 29/05/2024 15:19

We spend about £100-£120 per week or £150 in the school holidays for 2 adults, one 9 year old and a toddler.

We shop at Ocado, eat lots of eggs, beans and pulses, meal plan and get bread from the local bakery. We’re also really hot on not wasting anything. I find the quality of the fruit and veg from Ocado/M&S to be better than the bigger super markets, so it lasts longer and is less likely to be wasted, but I am aware it’s priced at a premium for that. We rarely buy booze, but our weekly shop includes cleaning stuff, vitamins, nappies, etc etc

sleepandcoffee · 29/05/2024 15:19

£140 per week from Tesco .
Including 2 tins of baby milk for 2 adults , a child and a baby .
Most weeks we probably spend another £15 on milk/ bread / treats

YorkNew · 29/05/2024 15:19

£250 for four adults.

hookiewookie29 · 29/05/2024 15:23

4 adults, £ 150 per week. That includes toiletries etc.
Horrendous amount, can't seem to reduce it though!

mickandrorty · 29/05/2024 15:24

£500 per 4 weeks for 3 adults 1 teen & 3 younger children. I shop at tesco. Try and avoid top ups but occasionally everyone decides they want toast all week or cereal so we end up needing milk or bread.

callmesophia · 29/05/2024 15:28

Around £200 a week, plus top ups from the Co-op for bread, milk, maybe a bottle of wine. 2 adults, 4 children and a dog.

avocadotofu · 29/05/2024 15:29

£180-200 two adults and a five year old.
