It's tough at present @Timetoswitch, everything is creeping up in price but it all adds up.

I find the payday budgeting very satisfying too @Chile1978

£25 Lidl - I had a £5 off if you spend £25 so used it and it's reduced the online shop cost for the week too. I don't always get a chance to get there but did today. Bought staples only so nothing unnecessary or unexpected.

Nellieinthebarn · 01/05/2024 21:37

So I managed to finish the month in the black - just- nothing in the savings though due to the dentist taking all the spare money, but worth it to not have toothache. I thought I would fritter the remaining £3.45 on untold luxuries! But at least I didn't go into the overdraft.

The little car is in the garage, finally getting his new exhaust, picking him up tomorrow. I will report back with the cost once I know for sure.

Happierwithouthim · 01/05/2024 22:52

€7.50 on soup in restaurant for lunch, thoroughly enjoyed my solo dining Grin deli counter would have been probably €5.50 & not as healthy

€20 on look fantastic May beauty box Confused

I ate the galaxy ripple in boot of my car, it lasted 7 days there, TOM though so Wink

Good fruga-lidling @needastrongoneagain

Hey Big spender @Nellieinthebarn ! 🤣 3. 45!!!!

Do love a galaxy ripple @2024Hackathon . Recently been eating Lion bars - feel like the nuts make it basically a granola bar so I'm eating healthy 😋

A fabled NSD today. Got to top up though tomorrow on various bits and bobs.

Chile1978 · 01/05/2024 23:30

Sorry- happier not hack

Happierwithouthim · 02/05/2024 06:40

equating lion bar to granola bars @Chile1978 GrinGrin

OP posts:
needastrongoneagain · 02/05/2024 13:20

There's probably not as much nutritional difference between a granola bar and a Lion bar than you think sadly!

Well done on the NSD @Chile1978

😁@Nellieinthebarn. Well done of staying in the black.

I have an Ocado delivery due later but the cost is much reduced due to the Lidl shop yesterday. Other than that, no other spends.

Happierwithouthim · 02/05/2024 13:53

I discovered the cupboards bare of tinned tomato, Passata or pasta sauce when making Bolognese used tomato purée & tinned tomato & basil soup, and worked out perfectly!

£383 on glasses. Though can claim some back.

sounds lovely happier.

need to get shopping as per.

RumBananaSundae · 02/05/2024 19:21

Four bottles Time. People used to buy it for me as an easy gift. I thought I’d thrown them out.

Wednesday was a NSD. Bought two t-shirts (£56). They were too big so took them back and exchanged them for a size down. They’re still too big. The store’s website size thing is rubbish. Shirts have been hidden in the never want to set eyes on again drawer. Spent about £30 on lunch for me and my friend. We had tacos and they were lovely.

I'm not doing too well with the trying to buy new clothes thing.

Happierwithouthim · 02/05/2024 19:41

€55.13 Aldi
€22.64 domino's for ds
I told dc I'd bring then to CEX shop and napped on couch then traffic meant we didn't make it there, mum guilt followed by the mother of all showdowns with ds. Not going to book club now not in the humour. Watching emmerdale live which is rare

And it was dd who wanted to go there, it wasn't about making the cex shop on time.
He wanted to order €35 of food from domino's for just him.

I have put the heating back on. Bloody ridiculous it’s like November

Nellieinthebarn · 02/05/2024 22:23

I am seriously considering a hot water bottle.

lifelongfrugaleer · 03/05/2024 05:35

3 Pairs of specs happier.
sorry last night was rubbish.

yeah on the perfume

are you going back near the shop to exchange again? Can you try on there? Seems a shame to not wear them. Annoying though.

ememem84 · 03/05/2024 10:33

fell off again - have been reading periodically to catch up but life has been busy!

spends today £300 kids club for may half term. sigh. ds has said he won't go. so i've obviously booked him on anyway. (no idea why he won't go - it's fun, he's been before, he loved it and loads of his mates from school are going).

he wil no doubt refuse to go but i have to take him- given that i think dh is away in NYC that weeks and i need to be in the office. no other options other than some sort of holiday club - and i need both dc to be int he same place.

wfh today - so have been up since 6. sun is shining, have done three loads of laundry already. it's all on the line drying nicely. back doors are open and radio 4 is on. not much work is getting done :)

Nellieinthebarn · 03/05/2024 11:24

Got the invoice for little car's exhaust, £211.63. Not too bad I thought, I always expect at least 300 for anything car related. I took it to a little local garage, recommended by my neighbour who is a real petrol head. So it's also a bonus to find a garage I am reasonably sure won't rip me off.

Happierwithouthim · 03/05/2024 11:32

I had the heating on for a bit last night too.

Discovered this morning that my window in bedroom was open on the latch all night long so the temps have gone up again because I didn't wake with the cold at all Smile

A rare NSD!

RumBananaSundae · 03/05/2024 19:32

I know what you mean Happier. I could see my breath today. Sorry you had a rubbish day yesterday.

I’m not sure life. It’s a collaboration with a designer who is usually more expensive. I looked on their website and it looks like their items are meant to fit in a strangely big way. The shape, in general, is odd.

Sounds like a nice start to your day em. Here it was wet and chilly. I just made it to the office before the rain started so it could have been worse.

NSD for me.

Trying to organise the weekend in my head. Really would like to get my holiday shopping done. I think it’s odd things left. Not found a handbag I like and still too tight to pay the delivery charge for a click and collect order.

Happierwithouthim · 04/05/2024 08:36

€3 for dds youth club fee. She hasn't gone in a while so I was delighted she went.
