I left a message In my journal yesterday morning. I updated my bank details to my Monzo account for UC in June 2023, the COLP for October/ November went into my old bank account which I still had. So I've asked them if they can check it will go into my UC account. I've been receiving my UC in my Monzo since June so not sure how it ended up in the old account. No reply on the journal lol! X

@40weeksmummy If you are on UC it’s worth asking via your journal. They checked for me and have said they can see I’m receiving it tomorrow. Unexpectedly helpful.

Let us know if you get it tomorrow 😊

Cece92 · 06/02/2024 17:53

So they did respond to my journal.... looks like I'm gonna be waiting a while 😂😂🙈🙈

I still haven't got mine despite getting it the first day each of the other times

Kerrybemmy · 07/02/2024 05:49

Just because you have received payment on the first day every other time doesn't mean you will this time. The computer system randomised payments by putting people in randomised batches, for example if placed in Batch 1 you will get on the first day, Batch 2 second day for example. Which Batch you are placed in changes every time. Each Batch contains 1.6 million people, 99% are paid within the first 6 working days, the rest of the payment period is manually paying anyone that was missed by the computer system or changed their bank accounts. A Freedom Of Information request confirmed this was how the COLPs were being paid. Because of the large amounts of payments sent out everyday during the payment window, there will always be the lucky few who get them all on the first day, it's just a fluke.

Kerrybemmy · 07/02/2024 06:01

Just to clarify the batches you are placed in are randomised every time, so it's possible to be put in the same Batch every time just through coincidence.

Still?

It's day 2 of a span of a fortnight. Give them a chance

PermanentIyExhaustedPigeon · 07/02/2024 06:29

Blooming heck, just chill out some of you!

It's being paid between the 6th and the 22nd

That means it could be any day between those dates and there is no way to find out which day it'll be.

Stop wasting everyone's time asking UC when you'll get it because they don't know. You'll get it when you get it. There's no need to be all doom and gloom and "still haven't got it" on Day 2 of a 14 day range.

And yes, I'm also eligible and I know I'll be among the last as I'm a TC only claimant. I won't be giving it another thought until the 23rd when it will actually be late if it hasn't been paid by then.

40weeksmummy · 07/02/2024 06:47

I don't understand why some people are so upset when we desperately waiting for payment. Good for you if you have savings, just received salary or UC. I had terrible weeks and literally has pennies to live. It's absolutely OK that we are trying to find out some information. Chill and be happy that you don't need to be desperate.

megletthesecond · 07/02/2024 07:11

Cee. I asked on my UC journals and they got back to me straight away. As I was receiving tax credits in the qualifying period in Nov - Dec then I will still receive it this time round.
So far I've found the UC team very helpful, and I've added a lot of notes / questions to mine.

Actually I am fucking desperate for it

However, it's not turning me into a nutcase stalking UC. I'm fully aware of the length of the payment period

Talk66talk · 07/02/2024 08:06

I've received mine this AM.

Kerrybemmy · 07/02/2024 08:17

All the people claiming they are desperate for the payment need to consider this will be the last one, it's been confirmed by the gov that there are no more payments planned. What will you do after you have received this final COLP.

todayshappening · 07/02/2024 08:43

I'm getting mine tomorrow

Cece92 · 07/02/2024 10:10

I'm not sure why it's being paid in my old account as I updated my bank details 9 months ago and had to attend a meeting lol! Mines is pending for tomorrow which is great. My DD is off next week so half will be for that then the other half I'm saving. MOT due next month and need my car to work.

I don't think anyone should be commenting on peoples situations. Times are tough right now and many of us live month to month. Some months we have I expected things to pay out and this money is a blessing right now. Some need it more than others. I had to buy a new tire 2 days after Xmas then another £200 on my car mid January and it crippled me. I was absolutely rooked come pay day. X

TheHateIsNotGood · 07/02/2024 22:12

Wow! I got mine yesterday, although I was in the 'mindset' of being paid much later, although I sure do need it. It really does seem to be random as a relative nearby hasn't received theirs yet and when I've received it before it was at the later end of the 'payment period'.

It will come if you're entitled to it, sooner or later who knows, but it will come.

Is this what you have to add? 😀

While this thread is relatively recent I’ll see if anyone can help. I got a tax credits payment in the assessment period however we are now currently switching to universal credits, it’s nearly complete, first payment will be on the 22nd. Will I still be eligible? I have asked on the journal but they have sent me to the government website where I can’t find an answer. This isn’t me moaning that I haven’t got it yet or anything, I was just hoping because I was going to pay for my DD’s residential with it.

OhmygodDont · 08/02/2024 19:25

You should still get it as you would get it even if no longer entitled as long as you where during the period you needed to be eligible.

So someone who no longer gets anything could get it vs someone who was moving over to Uc might miss it because of the assessment period.

Hi I think you will. If you have TikTok there is someone called Noah bear nyle who's up to scratch with all benefits and the TC > UC transition xxx

woodyandbuzzz · 09/02/2024 08:21

I'm the OP but I had name changes. I took advice on here and put a note on my journal last night who said I'm getting paid today (Friday 9th) and lo and behold it was there this morning which is a good help

Orangesandlemons77 · 09/02/2024 09:03

We are still on tax credits, received the other payments but not this one yet. Wondering if it is late or we are not eligible? Any one know? Thanks
