Hello,
This is the Enhanced Review Team contacting you about your claim to Universal Credit. We believe you are not entitled to receive Universal Credit because we have doubts about the legitimacy of your claim. Accordingly, we have suspended payment of your Universal Credit. To resolve this doubt on your claim to Universal Credit please contact 0800 328 5644 and ask to speak to the Enhanced Review Team. If we do not hear from you by 24/11/2023, your claim will be closed.
Thank you

has anyone had this and know how long it takes or what it’s about? Had today and I’m concerned how I’m going to pay rent/feed children

sophlouise1992 · 06/12/2023 13:57

Mine took 3 weeks and we were worried as well but in the end, thankfully we didn't miss a payment date. Send in absolutely everything they ask for, make sure you answer everything honestly and keep sending messages asking to speak to someone. I mentioned I had contacted my MP and it was sorted the next day.

Sandra530 · 07/12/2023 15:49

Hi hun, have you got it sorted out ? They are reviewing my claim now … didnt have money for rent… how did this end up?

BenefitHelper · 07/12/2023 20:31

Have you had your interview yet? Have you sent all of the requested documents? I believe some investigators don’t even start to review them properly until after the 14 days deadline depending on how busy they are. If your account has been suspended, I’ve heard that depending on the team goal they unsuspend once they verify your identity. I’ve also heard through the grapevine that they won’t be suspending any accounts from next week until after the New Year because of the holidays (unless they have evidence that it’s a hijacked identity).

I can help out with whatever info I know on the matter as I have a friend who works in that area, but I’ve mostly heard about the part of the team that deals with investigating people who claim UC while out of the country or stay out for more than a month. They know every time you use your passport/ID to get in and out, and that’s how they catch those people, scary stuff!

My claim is still suspended , with the decision maker . I did try to find out more why they couldnt verify my housing but theres no answer . Maybe you can ask your friend if she knows what I could do to solve this problem asap . Other people send tenancy agreements and thats fine but mine for some reason is not , we rent from Clarion , they have thousands of houses

BenefitHelper · 07/12/2023 23:45

Aww, if it’s with the decision maker then it’s a waiting game. I think the only thing you can do is to pester your work coach/case manager if a decision maker has been assigned to your case on to receive your decision as soon as possible. (The investigators don’t have contact with the decision makers.) I know a bunch of housing stuff gets flagged up as suspicious if you pay your rent cash or if you have a dodgy landlord that they can’t trace on their system/the land registry doesn’t match.
Hopefully it’s nothing to worry about, as the decision makers have to follow the law to the letter with what they’ve been provided with and will always cite to you in their decision that law. And ofc, if you’re unhappy with it, appeal! (It’s a lengthy process, so it’s another thing to be patient about.)

Dana81 · 08/12/2023 17:50

Thank you for explaining , I know they have to follow the law , the investigator couldnt tell me why she couldnt verify , I only asked because is so weird , we pay rent every month by bank transfer to the landlord ( who is a big company Clarion ) its not cash nothing dodgy and I asked the manager who came here last week if anyone from UC contacted them but he told me no calls from them and from what he knows they send mail to verify addresses but nothing received from them , he is really happy to help me out , there are 16 apartments where I live all from the same company but I cannot speak with anyone and this might take so long , problem is they stopped our money and I dont think we can live for a long time like this . I will message them again

Truth2022 · 08/12/2023 20:08

Hello the enhanced review team is fraud it requests to get documents like gas certificates from the tenants for large buildings with multiple properties when they won’t go to the owner of the building/ landlord it’s a ploy to defraud people out of the benefits there entitled .to try to get them out there homes quicker my friend has sent me step by step of the dealings with them over the last 2 weeks his claim is only 3 months old self employed and it started with that message they asked for a gas certificate then he gave it then they requested a driving’s license so he gave that then they requested the picture by the window he gave that then thy asked for his license again so he gave it then they asked for earnings from last month he gave it the claim was closed on him by some very eager person not realising there was still 2 tasks in his to do list so when he completed his to do list it was just afterwards and some one from the job centre has actually noticed something fishy and has requested to consider it and said to him he doesn’t understand what the person was doing by closing it all tasks where completed he now has a very solid case for discrimination against these for there poor ability to maintain the support they signed up to give him and totally disregard any correspondence he will find out on the 11nth what is happening if it goes the wrong way he will provide all the notes and recordings to show a clearer picture it’s sad but true👌🏻👍🏻

Truth2022 · 08/12/2023 20:45

Here is proof it’s a fraudulent way of closing a genuine claim check the times on this I’ll upload there’s more what proves the sending around in circles of my friend and he has bin very stressful hopefully this will get sorted on the 11th but still at least they except they should definitely look deeper into it and the times they say have proved that it’s not rite therefore a request to open it and he has received a written apology from them the day before it was closed

lol, showed this to my friend and he got so pissed off - he says that this is sloppy work of someone who obviously has way too many cases to juggle and they’re trying to clear their deck. These kinds oh people don’t last long as investigators. There’s apparently multiple sub-operations within the enhanced team. The one my friend is on said that they ask for all the information they need in one go (so it could be anything from 10 to 20 different documents all on the same day to be submitted within 2 weeks from the interview day). Someone who keeps asking for new stuff every day means that they weren’t prepared and mid-review realise they don’t have what they need or might need.
Good luck with your friend’s appeal!

Truth2022 · 08/12/2023 23:24

his was around 7 attachments then another 7 then he got down to jut one the driving licence all the other documents where excepted then the driver license was sent and nothing was further to do in the to do list it’s blatant tactics to close legal claims it was still suspended but with nothing to do in the list then they asked for 2 things and he provided them before they closed it and they closed it hopefully they reconsider they have sent him a written apology the day before they closed it stating sorry for all the messing around and the claim will be taking over by somebody els because it’s clear he has stuck to everything that he is To do and to wait for a call in to days from the advance team but they didn’t call they went above the request to call and closed that claim

Truth2022 · 08/12/2023 23:39

This apology was before they closed his claim because of the total lack of support and communication and correspondence to anything regarding my friend this is a new team that is targeting people and closing perfect up and running claims be aware they possibly get a bonus every so many claims they close because the call i listen to is very strange they request a call within 7 days or it will get closed and when he calls they wouldn’t say what they wanted him to call for because he was with citizens advice strange if you ask me they where trying to close the claim over the phone before they even requested any documents

Truth2022 · 09/12/2023 00:12

Thanks for explaining that they are incapable of it because they have to many cases but if they realise they haven’t got what they need half way through a case and the claimant has stuck to all there to do and work commitments takes the right they have to close a claim if anything they should ask for what they need or get some one with more intelligence to solve it if every time the information they want changes and it completed then completed again it’s pretty clear in this case no matter what he provided they had a goal to close it and ye I hope it goes ok il leave any more information when I no what the outcome is it’s 👍🏻

Truth2022 · 09/12/2023 07:16

Do you have debt are you paying any debt of Thru your claim ? This is a tactic that will make anyone with council arrears/ debt left over the winter with nothing and not able to pay there rent it’s literally going to make people think of ways of getting paid otherwise your bills will arise and you will be more in debt and end up get people trying to remove your goods or property because you are not in receipt of a benefit best advice is to call citizens advice soon you get a hint of them an note and stick to the to do list and your commitment but this still doesn’t guarantee anything as it’s a fraud they say they don’t believe where you say you live and will close a claim knowing you do live there and you have proved it they also will say the picture wasn’t clear enough and close it but they wait until all your things are complete then just say what ever they can to close it contact citizens advise

It’s not some conspiracy to close claims and no, DWP staff don’t get bonuses based on claims closed- that would never happen either. They are just people following processes and trying to do their job. Most are on UC themselves. You’re spreading a lot of misinformation.

Truth2022 · 11/12/2023 04:03

I’m not interested how you take that information it’s called reading between the lines they mite not get a bonus but iv said a couple of techniques they have bin using to close claims iv only said and showed what I can prove if you want to put your own name to it and call it conspiracy then fine with these messages I’m trying to let the people who are in similar situation with them know what to expect

Truth2022 · 11/12/2023 04:17

No misinformation at all the only thing am not certain on is them getting a bonus every thing else is facts and real life circumstances they’re leaving people in I seen first hand so I will leave these messages happily knowing there is people in similar circumstances get help soon as possible

Truth2022 · 14/12/2023 00:08

Here is a example of the stupidity and ignorance the people in there are causing all over our city il upload something now what will make any one understand the ignorance they greet people with and my friends still not had a decision he said he would let him no on the 11th but never called him

Truth2022 · 14/12/2023 00:25

Thanks for sending this but they managed to closed that even tho all proof was provided and it seems the can just close it with no reason they don’t seem to be following any legislation at all I’m looking into there legislation and they have crossed every boundary concerning this look at this literally leaving with no way to leave a note by putting the notes on hold then requesting a note to keep the claim then not responding when a date of response was provided? it’s enough to make any one’s blood boil this is disgusting discrimination it will all get noted and put toward any future problems

my Friend contacted his local mp via email about the debate on excess covid19 jab deaths in the house of Parliament last month and why no one turned up there His claim is now closed do you think he should message him regarding this situation ?

Kitan · 15/12/2023 16:31

@sophlouise1992
Hi Sophlouise
Could you please tell me how did you realize that your payment has restarted? Because I'm having the same issue.
Thank you in advance

Truth2022 · 16/12/2023 06:40

It’s my friends there is obviously genuine people who work there who will pick up on things when legislation is not being followed but you probably have to be calling all day most days lucky he got through to a genuine one they had an internal note saying that this person hadn’t provided documents and if he hasn’t by a date then it would be closed but this was only internal so how can the claimant therefore even know he has to do it if it’s not in the to do list or anywhere then it’s not a requirement for him

Tarkan · 22/12/2023 11:55

We've been going through the normal review and were meant to have our phone calls today but we've heard nothing. DH's was meant to be at 10.45am and I should be having mine now (was meant to be 11.45am). We have to get some Christmas shopping today as DH is finally off work to help me (I can't easily carry heavy things) and we have no idea if we can even leave the house until we hear.

Did others get their calls on time or did you have this as well? We've already had to upload loads of ID so we don't know what they will be asking.
