Just that really. Trying to cut back on expenditure and wondered what people have? We pay for Netflix and Disney plus separately and have Amazon prime.

Amazon firestick.

Needcoffeeimmediatley · 28/06/2023 22:47

We have BT and Netflix is part of our package.

Overthebow · 28/06/2023 22:48

Netflix, Amazon and Disney. Way cheaper than Sky and not sure what else you’d need!

yellowdinoplate · 28/06/2023 22:48

NOW tv

TakeMyStrongHand · 28/06/2023 22:49

Netflix, Disney and prime. I cancelled my tv licence many many years ago and save that too. You can still watch catch up such as 4OD and itv now which are free but you can't watch live or i player.

ShanghaiDiva · 28/06/2023 22:49

netflix.
every year dh gets an Amazon prime offer and he watches it free for a month, but we don’t take a subscription.

TakeMyStrongHand · 28/06/2023 22:50

We had now tv also but I think it's quite shit. Apple TV looks good tbh.

I don't have it but you can get fire sticks with all the programs on through illegal sources.

IncomingTraffic · 28/06/2023 22:50

I don’t even have a tv license. I have Netflix, Disney plus and amazon prime. I’m considering cancelling Netflix because I barely use it.

Mostly, it’s just my 2 year old watching Disney plus.

TheDogsMother · 28/06/2023 22:54

Netflix, Prime (which includes the music and free delivery), Freesat plus all the usual iPlayer, AllFour etc etc. We barely watch Netflix though so should probably get rid of it.

Haleso · 28/06/2023 22:55

How do I access BBC, ITV etc without a skybox. Excuse my ignorance on this but I’ve had it for 25 years so I’m not sure what my options are!

Just a TV licence

ThereIbledit · 28/06/2023 22:55

Just somebody else's Disney+. Occasionally I'll get netflix for a month if there's something I really want to see on there.

MigGirl · 28/06/2023 22:56

Currently we have amazon as I also use it for prime and Disney +, we sometimes get Netflix when an interesting serious is on we want to watch, but don't keep it long term.

We got rid of sky about 6 years ago when we moved house. Haven't missed it, we had BT to start with but realised we weren't watching anything on it.

BonnieGlasses · 28/06/2023 22:56

I don't have any streaming services, just a TV licence.

PuppyMonkey · 28/06/2023 22:56

I don’t really understand why people have Sky when you can watch the same programmes on Now TV (I’m currently on an offer to have the entertainment package for £1 a month) with no adverts. I’ll cancel it when my offer ends and wait a month or two until they come back to me with another offer, and then I’ll binge anything I’ve missed.

Other than that, we have Netflix because the kids love it, and I was paying for Paramount but cancelled it after I finished all the Yellowstone series. We just got Disney + for a year and that seems ok. I have Prime for the free deliveries and Morrisons shopping.

gogomoto · 28/06/2023 22:57

I only pay £19 for sky and Netflix combined, negotiate!

Stick the Arial in your TV and tune it.

if it’s a smart tv (highly likely), there will be apps for iplayer etc.

Haleso · 28/06/2023 22:59

I’ve tried negotiating before but can never get it down to anything near £19

megletthesecond · 28/06/2023 22:59

Freeview for normal telly.

Ambi · 28/06/2023 22:59

We have broadband only and cycle through paid tv subscriptions every few months, Netflix/ Disney+/ Prime/ Nowtv. We use free apps too, ITV and All4, UKTVplay. Don't have iplayer as I don't pay for the licence.

Tell them you ARE leaving.

I once did this and they offered me 6 months free for everything but sports. I said no because I didn’t want it. But leaving is your answer to a better deal.

Precipice · 28/06/2023 23:00

Nothing (of that sort). I occasionally watch things online.

PuppyMonkey · 28/06/2023 23:01

For BBC, ITV, other live channels etc, you need something like Freeview and a telly plugged into a regular aerial.

I think more and more people are ditching that idea altogether and streaming through apps ITV player, iplayer, All4 and the like.

MigGirl · 28/06/2023 23:03

You can still get terrestrial TV, how you watch it depends on your TV and if you have an aerial. You can have it via your aerial or if you have a smart TV you can watch digital TV. We also have a fire stick as when Disney + came out you either had to have a brand new TV or an amazon fire stick. Most of our devices have been updated since and we can get it straight on 2 of our TV's the other isn't a smart telly so still needs a fire stick to watch streaming.

I think you now get other makes, equivalent of a fire stick but as we haven't needed to change ours I don't really know what is currently out there.

Haleso · 28/06/2023 23:05

Thank you. I have a smart tv so I can do that. I will call sky and cancel.
