hi,like many food etc is a constant concern so have changed to Aldi as my main shop as was finding Asda getting expensive and often finding up to 10ish items out of stock

I already find Aldi stock levels much better and less choice is a huge bonus but would be good to see what other shoppers like and recommend

i love the soft seeded loaf so good and a bargain at £1.20 ish
copy of fanta and Lilt 6 cans £1.60 and big bottles 60p huge bargain
9 good toilet rolls £1.99 bargain m waiting for that price to increase

please add your i might find some more gems

nut butter is cheaper than other stores
chocolate own brand is good - dark chocolate though I prefer Lidl
tomato puree and anchovy tins are much cheaper than anywhere else, so I stock up on these
there muffins in twos are really nice
the frozen pizza own brand are great for a quick supper
the nuts are far better value than elsewhere
coffee beans loose are also good value

I've swapped from Morrisons to Aldi too. From Aldi the fruit and veg has been good, like the meat too. We also really like the mango and papaya yoghurt, malted milk biscuits, chocolate digestives, they have their version nandos sauce which I like, fishfingers, frozen battered fish, hash browns and crumpets are great too.

Wheresmycider · 24/02/2023 17:27

The specially selected soups. Especially the tomato and chorizo and butternut squash and bacon ones. I have the whole office sniffing the air when I heat one up.

DoNutSweatTheSmallStuff · 24/02/2023 17:31

Love Aldi!
It's the only supermarket I shop at now.
No complaints with any of their stuff, all decent quality & good value. The advert is right when it says you can save a third on your bill.
Particular favourites are the crisps, dark chocolate, fresh filled pasta & fresh pizzas.

Which section is the risotto in? I want to look for that!

It's AMAZING, Mil introduced me to to! Comes in a dark blue pouch with fancy writing on the front to help you spot it. I add half water and a splash of milk as opposed to just milk as BF is strict on his diet but its still great! I found it last at the end of an aisle with all of the rice pouches and lentils and those pasta with powdered sauce mixes but also found it once by the cereal in another store. Forgot to say a dollop of chutney is indulgent and probably a bit gross to some but lovely on it as are frozen or cans of peas :)

Rebel2 · 24/02/2023 17:55

Added to my list! Thank you

mommatoone · 24/02/2023 18:09

The infused olive oils -basil one is packed with it
all the tinned scratch ingredients like lentils/tomatoes
the extra special spice in the lid curry sauces
the jalapeños, Kalamata olives
good selection of cheeses specially the extra special ones
the isigny butter and the West Country butter not the spreadable (the blocks)
my cat loves the tinned mousse food and the own brand dreamies are exactly the same
the part baked dinner rolls
they had a houmous with a topping that was great have not seen that for a while
the extra golden yolk eggs and the normal free range
the topaz blue - bombay sapphalike
the fever tree lookalike tonics
loads of things in the vegan freezer
the deep, pan four cheese pizza is okay not as good as goodfellas but very good for the price
the 100% peanut butter is the best peanut butter ever IMO
the Earl grey tea bags
ive been delighted with everything but I dont get the meat or fish so can’t comment about that
I love Aldi, items do come and go but on the whole it’s brilliant for me

PieonaBarm · 24/02/2023 18:48

Brown sauce and salad cream both as good as HP and Heinz
Their Stackers (Pringles) are better!
Hula hoops, pop chips all great
I prefer their 30% less fat grated cheese although DDog won't entertain his tablets in their version of Philadelphia, only the branded will do for him 😂
Tomato and Lentil fresh soup
Mister Roth chocolate
Oreo's and biscoff knockoffs are great as well as their Tunnocks caramel wafers - can't tell the difference!
DH likes their craft IPA's and says their Bombay sapphire is fine
El torro red wine
Fish is all good, much cheaper than the main supermarkets
Foil and greaseproof is brilliant
Quilted loo roll and kitchen roll
Non bio washing pods

bagelbagelbagel · 24/02/2023 18:50

I love their tubs of crushed avocado with chilli. Fantastic cheese selection. Puddings. Cleaning products. Skincare when it's in stock, particularly the Q10 serum. Part baked dinner rolls. Their version of hand cooked chips. Super six fruit and veg weekly. Skin on fries. Pizza. Steak.

That crushed avocado is superb apparently three avocados in there, I prefer it to guacamole

DoNutSweatTheSmallStuff · 24/02/2023 20:09

Dishwasher tablets (platinum) are great.

Agree with this!

HollyGolightly4 · 24/02/2023 20:15

It's not food and I appreciate not an essential, but their candles (Jo Malone dupes, although I've never owned a proper one!) are lovely. I like the pomegranate one.

TwoMonthsOff · 24/02/2023 20:27

Are the reed diffusers nice, in same packaging as the candles and the hand washes …..?

TwoMonthsOff · 24/02/2023 20:29

I like the ‘luxury’ handwash range they have recently got in Cypress & Sea Fennel Antibacterial they do some other blends as well,
