Has anyone noticed it's shot up in price ? I used to bulk buy rolls now many places are asking for £9 for 18. Getting expensive to wipe your arse 🤣🤣 has anyone got any recommendations for cheap toilet roll?

It is expensive now. Aldi are still selling their 9 packs of Saxon soft for £1.99. I noticed the 4 pack has gone up to £1.69 so it might be worth stocking up before a price rise.

Yep, I use it very sparingly these days.

Just noticed Brabantia bin liners have jumped up by over a pound.

IconicKitty · 22/01/2023 10:16

Try Lidl - their loo roll is much cheaper than other supermarkets and it's good quality too.

Badbudgeter · 22/01/2023 10:21

Does anyone know where you can get cheap kitchen roll. I used to use Aldi knock off of blitz but even that is £1.95 now?

I got one from Asda recently, £1.10 and it's pretty decent. Think it's called Nicky, will be buying again.

MyGPgood · 22/01/2023 17:04

Lidl or Costco

LaMariposa · 22/01/2023 17:34

We have reuseable kitchen clothes/napkins, I can’t see the point of buying money on kitchen roll to chuck it in the bin. Used clothes are rinsed under the tap and then washed whenever we do a load.
I got ours from Cheeky Wipes, but there’s loads of other companies that do similar. Or old t-shirts cut up with pinking sheers would also work.

GoingOnce · 22/01/2023 17:50

Kitchen roll is crazy expensive now. Apparently there’s been a reduction in the amount of wood pulp available as offices aren’t supplying as much paper recycling and also paper mills have taken a hit with energy costs etc

Flapjackquack · 22/01/2023 17:54

Not only has toilet paper shot up in price but Tesco have downgraded their normal standard one from 3-ply to 2-ply. You have to pay even more for the quilted one to get 3-ply.

Good save the trees and use a cloth that can be washed time and time again. Costco is still around £40 for 90 rolls so around 45p a roll of Cushelle which doesn't leave bits everywhere

Badbudgeter · 22/01/2023 18:00

Generally I’d rinse/ wash and reuse a cloth but there are some messes that are better suited to kitchen roll.

I agree, I don’t want to clean up cat sick/fur balls with a reusable cloth 🤢. I use kitchen roll very sparingly though.

uncomfortablydumb53 · 22/01/2023 18:05

I use Nicky from Home bargains which is good quality and Home bargains kitchen roll is also really good for £1.. on a par with Regina I'd say( which is an outrageous price now)

MzMarple · 22/01/2023 18:06

I buy Tesco 24 pack of toilet roll for £6 odd. I also buy the tesco jumbo roll of kitchen roll for £1.04

GiantKitten · 22/01/2023 18:10

Tesco used to have 32 packs of Cushelle for £10-11 (c £1.40 for 4) in that random section of special offers opposite the fridges in the smaller-than-Extra store near me.
I still have the last one of those I bought (didn’t get them regularly) but I’m guessing I’ll be paying at least twice as much in future…

amylou8 · 22/01/2023 18:17

I use the Asda value stuff, I think it was £1.65 for 9 rolls a week ago. It not aloe infused triple air quilted, but it does the job.

Helendegenerate · 22/01/2023 18:20

Home Bargains for me too. Best value I have found.

I remember when Andrex was considered the best but its rubbish now and more expensive.

Stopped buying it.

Lovebeingamummy2 · 22/01/2023 18:22

Lidl do 24 rolls for £6.79 which is the best value I've found so far

Any local cash and carrys? Or Asian shop? Their sundries aisle sells blue and white roll in bulk.

Malariahilaria · 22/01/2023 18:29

Get a bum gun and just pat dry. Super efficient and cheap. For kitchen roll I have bulk microfibre cloths and bung in the wash twice weekly with other stuff.

MyGPgood · 22/01/2023 18:53

Does anyone remember the loo roll that was like parchment paper? My Nan use to use that!

mrsbyers · 22/01/2023 18:55

We begrudgingly swapped to Amazon own kitchen roll and it’s fantastic - might try their toilet roll next
