To clarify. If mil had told DH/us earlier she wasn’t doing grown up presents it wouldn’t have been an issue. But for DH to find out this morning was a bit off.

m she did the same for Bil and sil too.

Merry Christmas all, hope you’ve had a lovely day! gen hope you are still on the mend and half hope your DD is ok.
We’ve had some drama though not of the type I expected. All went swimmingly with dinner etc but then my DDad took himself off to bed saying he felt off. I thought I’d check his temp as not long ago he was in hospital with sepsis. Anyway long story short I am now sat outside A&E waiting to collect him and my DMum. He’s been checked out and has abx for a urine infection. Thank god for Dd being able to drive …we’d all had a drink, not much but nobody really safe to drive apart from her. So thank tod for the NHS on Christmas Day, I am very thankful to the people working.

I think I’ve cooked the worst Christmas dinner I’ve ever done!
Well, the roasties were brilliant according to my youngest the potato connoisseur and everyone else. But I trusted the internet instead of my instinct and massively undercooked the beef. So everything had to be kept warm for another 40 mins . And it just wasn’t the same.

But apart from that we’ve had a lovely relaxed day.

Just off to bed , there has been a huge row between my sister and my Mum so at least it's nothing to do with me for once 🙄

We had a NSD too 😂 although DH bought a round in the pub with his dad and sons...

Our lunch was a disaster. Should have been straight forward with a Bbq and easy sides but overcooked the king prawns and undercooked the steak! That was the Internet for timings too mrs Felt really bad although they loved the prawn cocktail and Eton mess! Put steak back on bbq and it ironically was beautiful once done. Had a lovely day aside that hour of stress. DH says we should eat out next year. We go to PILs between 10.30am and 1.30pm so it is hard to pull lunch together.

North East England em 😊 been checking the forecast all week and it was dry enough. We have a brick built bbq in the garden. Saves on pans.

I wish I was in Oz or NZ though. I'm a big summer fan. Hope you are continuing to have a lovely time.

Roasting a turkey today, buffet style and hope it going last a few meals this week.

@ememem84 your poor DM on that day but bet it was a Christmas to remember! We've roasted Chinese duck on New Year out there in the past. Music on, kids involved, it's more fun.

mrs how awful being caught in the middle like that. You’re right to stay out of it. We are on way to SIL for lunch, then on home for a few days R&R. I am still not great, up in the night coughing which means I’m very tired from broken sleep.
lots of lovely leftovers for dinner though!
