Oh and we sold two of DH's coats and one of mine for a total of £100 on eBay so need to post those today! Already bought the postage labels through eBay so just need to take them to the shop.

Got £20 in my Vinted balance to withdraw too.

Will try and catch up a little tonight. Feels all a bit relentless here atm. DS is unwell and on antibiotics AGAIN. He had about a fortnight between courses and was unwell with HFM for about half of that anyway. DD definitely got ill loads as a baby from nursery but I really don't remember it being quite this frequent and she definitely wasnt having frequent courses of antibiotics. He's cried almost the whole of last night and throughout today and it's hard on DD too.

NSD so far but I really need to do some online clothes shopping for the kids. Have £100 each for them from my DF as belated birthday money for them so I can use that at least.

TheClitterati · 10/11/2022 17:36

£8.09 in Morrisons - needed bread for school lunch tomorrow.
Ended up with an entire basket of carbs and a head of broccoli - must remember not to take DD1 into supermarket with me.

AdoraBell · 10/11/2022 19:48

Just under £20 in Sainsbury’s, bought 2 T-shirts for myself and a few bits I forgot to add to tomorrow’s delivery. That should be £80-ish.

Right, caught up on this thread, but promptly forgotten most of it, as I have a terrible short-term memory (dyslexia).

The heating vs luxuries/holiday thing. We will definitely prioritise heating, I don't really see it as a choice to be honest though, being cold affects my mood, and of course for us we have the two littlies to think about. When I'm alone at home WFH which is usually about one day a week, I sit under my heated blanket, and I only put the heating on if I'm using it to dry washing. However realistically that is a lot of the time anyway because we always have piles of laundry to be sorted! Feel anxious about our winter energy bills. There is only usually one day a week that nobody is at home, so our bills will be high. It's an Edwardian house too and not amazingly insulated so it's not very energy efficient either.

Just spent £24 on a bunch of upcoming French classes for DD. She did a taster last week and despite refusing to speak, or barely even making eye contact with the teacher (all completely normal for her), she said she wants to continue going and she was talking positively about it today in advance of tomorrow.

Alfiemoon1 · 10/11/2022 22:28

Thanks for the new thread. Fell off the last one as been busy at work and have a few friends who have been having a tough time recently

spends today £25 wickes we replaced some plug sockets in the utility room as the others looked dodgy.

kessiebird · 11/11/2022 07:48

Thanks for the new thread life

Just placemarking for today, as life a little hectic but I'm also going to need to frugal towards Christmas. Not really made a start apart from a few things I've picked up when I've seen them, but I have a credit balance on a credit card (partial refund after a power cut on holiday) so I'll start with 'spending' that on DC stockings. I've made 11 pots of jam to be trussed up for adults.

I've been eyeing up that bedding Mrs linked to in the last thread in Primark. It's gorgeous 😍 in the shop too, but they only had single.

Spends yesterday
£14 Primark PJs for DH birthday.
£2.40 Sainsburys

Timetoswitch · 11/11/2022 13:30

Will be a spendy day as both DH and I need to fill up with petrol as both on red.

£7.39 in Tesco. £4.20 for the cheapest ream of printer paper in Tesco, sheesh.

382 points spent from my Advantage card in Boots on some bath fizzers (stocking filler). They were half price, plus 10% off due to my contact lenses scheme so I didn’t get sucked into the 3 for 2 😂

£5.99 Savers on shampoo.

£5 on a primark gift voucher from topgiftcards. There’s a £2 credit offer on a £5 spend on topcashback today, so a good buy for somewhere I need to shop from.

Got a cheque from Dmum to buy the Christmas presents from her to us. She also told me I have to wrap them too this year 🤣 to be fair, the wrapping paper normally falls off her gifts after being transported from her house to mine. So probably best I do it!

WeightoftheWorld · 11/11/2022 16:23

Ended up spending about £50 on clothes for the kids last night online at Asda. Most of it for DD. However it's come out of their birthday money anyway so accounted for and all was necessary too.

Today has been NSD and hopefully stay that way. Been a looong few days and nights with DS being so unwell. His second bout of bacterial tonsillitis in about 3 or 4 weeks.

needastrongoneagain · 11/11/2022 17:22

Afternoon.

Must post daily or I lose track. Must post daily or I lose track. Must post daily etc etc!

Another busy week here.

Weight - ❤️. Life does have a habit of being relentless doesn't it. Wrap up tomorrow and go kick some leaves with the DC. That's literally the best and cheapest fun!

Brill selling socathe.

Two wash loads dried on the line today, what the hell. Although I put the, out last night so they have gotten 'darked' on!

Spends haven't been too crazy but haven't been super frugal either. Guess I'm where I need to be so far this month.

Today
£71 Ocado as friends over tonight and needed to get wine etc.
£1.60 coffee
£4 local shop but included a couple of bits for the food bank.

Yesterday.
£1.60 Aldi
£18 window cleaner
£20 Marks.
-£28 refund from John Lewis.

Wednesday
£16 on a box of Squash, will last months if stored in the garage.

Social wise - I've run with others twice this week so free and a take out with friends tonight. So not bad at all really.

Menu plan for a while!

Mushroom stroganoff with rice.
Ratatouille
Squash dhal
Sweet potato and mushroom polenta with tomatoes
Courgette fritters from freezer
Stuffed roast fennel and mushrooms
Masala frittata with pitta
Aubergine curry
Bhaji burgers
Creamy pasta bake
Sweet potato cakes
Roast paneer aloo gobi
Autumn pilau
Kimchi fried rice.

AdoraBell · 11/11/2022 17:30

£71 odd on groceries.

Socathe · 11/11/2022 17:40

NSD today yippee.

DH had a day off so he played with DS after preschool while I've spent all day decorating the lounge. Already had the paint and equipment.

Just the ceiling left to paint tomorrow as we recently had it replastered after some leaks. DH is taking ds to the zoo while I paint tomorrow so there will be some spends for that.

Payday Tuesday.

Socathe · 11/11/2022 17:42

Just remembered we are getting fish and chips tonight. But I already have a tenner in my purse from a Facebook marketplace sale.

Will be eating it in bed and watching Enola Holmes 2 as the lounge is a tip mid-painting so we've brought the tv into our bedroom for the evening!

needastrongoneagain · 11/11/2022 17:59

Enjoy the fish and chips socathe!

needastrongoneagain · 11/11/2022 19:01

Well guests have cancelled due to poorly DC so a pizza has been ordered. DS always pays for pizza so I'm quids in, if disappointed not to have company.

Timetoswitch · 11/11/2022 20:00

Seems like an evening of takeaways here tonight!

We ordered a Chinese. Rare we have a takeaway. Was yummy, and I ate a bit too much. DC have demolished the prawn crackers.

Timetoswitch · 11/11/2022 20:00

DH paid too! 👍

needastrongoneagain · 11/11/2022 20:30

Win win! I ate too much too, had half a large pizza which is loads believe me! Feeling rather full!

Decafflatteplease · 11/11/2022 20:55

Hi all finally found the new thread 😂

Will read properly later I had my surgery this week so feeling very groggy still. Frugaleering on hold for a while for obvious reasons!

Surgery wasn't great it was more complex than they thought just got to wait now to see if it is cancer or not.

One day at a time..... feeling pretty positive though I'm well looked after by DH and our friends from church.

Unescorted · 11/11/2022 21:30

Evening...

My day has been quite idle.. it was blissful.

Alfiemoon1 · 12/11/2022 00:15
