@northender ahh mine is just a three week full time training course (I'm usually part time) as part of my training for a new role in my current job. Although I have recently had to do exam for it which I thankfully passed! Not looking to have to do another one of those any time soon 🤣

Socathe · 08/10/2022 09:52

@Taytocrisps I saw in the news and was so sorry to hear x

CurlsandCurves · 08/10/2022 11:09

@Taytocrisps i saw on the news earlier. Terrible xx

Gingerwarthog · 08/10/2022 12:13

@Taytocrisps
Yes, also heard this on news - shocking - will affect loads of people in a small community.

Gingerwarthog · 08/10/2022 12:26

Morning all
Sunny day - blue skies but cold so classic Autumn and we'll get out for a walk later.

Swam today - £4.80 plus hot chocolate after £3 but totally worth it as the pool was deserted and I had a lane to myself for over an hour.

Bought the usual Saturday croissants, newspaper and Zoflora (£10) - and some washing tablets (£8) as we'd run out and I'd not noticed.

Did the shopping in the week (Thursday) - Sainsburys not Lidl this time - £117. Bought a big piece of lamb that I am about to slow cook today and we'll eat it over the next few days (hoping it might stretch 3 days with loads of veg and potatoes, more likely 2).

Should be a relatively cheap weekend- meeting friends tomorrow for a dog walk as we're all trying not to spend a lot at the moment. To be honest would rather do that if it's like it is today than sit in a pub - haven't had a drink since the start of September and starting to feel the benefit. No major reason for that except trying to save money!

kessiebird · 08/10/2022 12:48

Ah just lost a post! Need to find a different device to post on here! Bold type won't work either.

That sounds a lovely weekend ginger enjoy the walking and movie night.
That course will be hard going, Socathe but great you are doing it. Definitely hats off to you!
Tayto also saw that on the news, just dreadful
Enjoy the time with the horses Life

NSD so far but I do need to head into town to look in Fatface as my nearer branch has closed 😕 I've been to Body Pump which is in with my leisure club membership. Not sure if I'm sold on that, felt like torture and pain for a very long hour. That said, I feel great now. Sat in the steam room for a bit too.

Came home to eat lunch to save being tempted by a sushi bar or noodles and dumpling stall in town.

DH at work, DS headed to a friends for the weekend (or so he thinks) and DD gone to a scouts trip. So I'm home alone. No plans made as we need to save. Lots to do as we go away in two weeks. List making!

kessiebird · 08/10/2022 12:50

Should have said I have £40 Fatface vouchers to spend. Birthday present.

CurlsandCurves · 08/10/2022 12:53

It’s a gorgeous day here too.

DH has been to work for a bit this morning so I had a lovely lie in. Got some washing done, cleaned the kitchen. He’s going out tonight, as is DS1 so just me and DS2 at home. Looking toward to a quiet cozy evening. NSD for me.

Gingerwarthog · 08/10/2022 14:27

DD fancies watching Blonde on Netflix but has heard mixed reviews. Anyone got recommendations or know anything about this one??

im going to have to have a look.

my feet have been ripped to pieces by my new boots. Grrrr.

im also at a&e currently with ds. He bounced off a bouncy castle and now can’t put weight on his foot. And it’s swollen up a lot.

Gingerwarthog · 08/10/2022 14:40

Indeed they do!
The Ella cord skirt in dark red, tan or black.
I have my eye on the red one...

Gingerwarthog · 08/10/2022 14:42

Oo... bouncy castles and trampolines....great in theory....

Gensola · 08/10/2022 15:25

@Gingerwarthog I have several Fat Face cord skirts including the Ella in purple 😃 a blue one from a couple of seasons ago and a sort of tobacco colour (like mustard but browner). They’re such a great winter staple.

Just had a look. Love them.

crikey. We’re an hour in.

AdoraBell · 08/10/2022 16:37

Spendy day. £95-ish on guttering. We have a cabin for DH’s office. The roof has a slope but rain water is running down the wall.
£27 on a Calor gas bottle
£4-ish in Tesco plus about £6-ish in coffee shop.

Gingerwarthog · 08/10/2022 17:31

@Gensola
I love them!
Added to my birthday wish list

TheNewlmprovedMrsMadEvans · 08/10/2022 19:13

Tayto l'm so sorry this has happened in your home country as well, it's such an awful tragedy 💐

TheNewlmprovedMrsMadEvans · 08/10/2022 19:21

Spends today 2.59 on a good to go Greggs that DH devoured lol!
A corned beef pastie, a bacon baguette , 2 yum yums and a steak bake 😂
Morrisons 15 on basics .
Their Dr Oetker pizzas are £2 ATM , £3 or more everywhere else . Except Iceland still 3 for £6.
Been busy with Mum and Bob and trying to have a little bit if life outside of them because it's quite depressing day in day out because of them missing each other so much . I feel so sad for them but l have to keep their peckers up . Mum is improving all the time but she isn't walking yet which is a worry tbh but there is nothing l can do about it in all honesty .
Hope everyone is ok ☺️

WeightoftheWorld · 08/10/2022 19:56

Em Oh no, is DS ok now?

Evans Hope you are ok Flowers.

Was working this PM which = ££ which is good. All of today's spends I will claim back from them when I invoice them at the end of month, as expenses/non-pay spends as they were all for my work - biscuits for service users, parking, bus fare, a total of £10.50. So really a NSD but doesn't feel like it as I have no word yet on when my September invoice will be paid so feeling tetchy about it.

AdoraBell · 08/10/2022 20:07

socathe well done doing the course, hope you both feel better quickly.

Tayto it’s awful, so sad for that community.

life hope you had a good day with horses.

Ginger I’m not a swimmer but having a lane to yourself sounds good 😁 hope you enjoy the dog walk with friends.

Kessie I’m struggling today due to doing extra sets in the gym yesterday, but I know it’s helping me so I keep going back.

em hope it’s just a sprain and he recovers quickly. And your poor feet too, I hate having new shoes/boots.

Mrs sorry you are all going through such a tough time.

lifelongfrugaleer · 08/10/2022 20:52

The horses were good £60 petrol, £3.80 Gregg’s, £13 pizza and £10 dog treats. Dd spent £50’ of her birthday money

the explosion is awful

hope ds foot gets seen soon em

kessiebird · 08/10/2022 21:21

Fatface vouchers gone on fly flare jeans in light blue. Quite boring but some nice detail with front pockets plus the flare. Need to check out the cords next pay day. I live in jeans! £19 for me to pay. £1.13 for parking. £3.95 coop. Made cheesy baked fahitas for me, still three portions left.

Jist waiting for DD to get a signal on her phone and let me know she's okay. I know the Scouts leaders will be taking care of them but it's nice to hear too. Then early night. They are rare around here!

Gingerwarthog · 08/10/2022 21:25

Thanks @AdoraBell
It was heaven. I kept fantasising I was in my own villa with attached infinity pool...
