Annual usage approx 13000kwh

LittleRen · 11/09/2022 18:29

6222 for gas
5000 for electricity

I don’t understand why it’s so low. We have a 5 bed detached, 1930s… use the heating a lot, always set on 21. I think a new efficient boiler and the nest thermostat makes a difference.

I also hate big lights and use low lighting (dimmers) and lamps. We even run electric floor heating.

Grumpybutfunny · 11/09/2022 18:49

5 bedrooms, four reception rooms modernish new build (1990's)

6500-7000kwh electric - solar system being installed which is estimated to produce 6000kwh per year. Largely due to the hot tub 😬

4000kwh of gas but we don't scrimp on heating and have gas cooking.

IAmStupidFace · 11/09/2022 19:07

Our Gas is ridiculously low but we are in a 1 bedroom new build apartment in between 2 other apartments (only 2 floors altogether)

E: 1741
G: 317!!!

Ours is super high. Gas for heating and cooking for four adults - 20,000kwh.
Elec 5,200 kwh

We have a mid terrace Victorian house that does go back a bit - like a lot of these houses, what was the outside scullery or whatever, we use as a utility room and downstairs loo. Always cold down there. But rest of the house has carpets or rugs and double glazed windows. Boiler was installed in 2008, its condensing, but I'm starting to wonder if we need to replace it. We probably use our heating more than most people, so maybe it's us.

This winter, I'm going to make a real effort to reduce the times the heating is on. Elect is harder - three of us WFH. Tumble drying is also going to be reduced this year,

ShortOfShorts · 11/09/2022 19:15

3674 electricity

Two adults, one child in a three bed Victorian mid terrace. Not sure if we’re high/low/average, TBH! We currently pay £165 a month DD and have a £570 credit. Our consumption might change as our new kitchen has an induction hob and electric fan oven, whereas until April, it was all gas for cooking. Time will tell!
