Took kids to adventure park this afternoon. Entry was covered with our membership. Paid £12 for ice creams and drinks. Ds and I went on a hideously bumpy tractor trailer ride. He loved it. I swear I broke my ass. The end of the ride drive us through a row of sprinklers. Ds fared worse than me because he was sat on my lap so I used him as a human shield.

also let them go into the “foam party” that shits not the same without glow sticks and a few shots of tequila

they got absolutely soaked. But had fun. Forgot towels or changes of clothes so made it clear that was the last thing we were doing before we went home. Car seats a bit damp now.

Katsu curry for dinner. Yum.

Need and Laska. I'm worried it was me 😆

Pretty sure it wasn’t.

ememem84 · 29/08/2022 18:29

The PIQ (poster in question) had a writing style that made me assume that she was an older lady (although I don’t believe was) but had more traditional values. If that makes sense.

I remember getting “told off” for posting from Gatwick when my flight was delayed and I was enjoying the FREE bubbly which came with my business class ticket (which work paid for - I posted about it in a “oooh such a treat but bummer my flights delayed and I might not get home tonight” way. Not in a boasty way. Who wouldn’t have the nice free drinks if they’re free/included and work had paid for the trip).

needastrongoneagain · 29/08/2022 18:35

I remember you getting told of for having a couple of pretty decent handbags (that you'd saved and paid for and cherished)! Far too materialistic I think? 😂😂

Timetoswitch · 29/08/2022 18:36

I’m thinking it was the poster who once made a very big deal about wearing very short denim shorts? In a “how shocking if other people see me” way.

Decafflatteplease · 29/08/2022 18:52

Good frugaleering day today.

Swimming so "free" as members. Think we are down to about £125 a visit now 😂

Picked up a few bits in Dunelm. Got another draught excluder so all downstairs doors now have them. 200 year old draughty house here!
Plus some bath mats for 75p! Bargain!

I've recently joined vinted and doing well. Not listed anything to sell yet though but I've bought some school trainers for DC and some clothes plus some clothes for me.

Whom was asking about pans? I've got those black and white speckled ones in the pic but mine are from Amazon. The Asda ones look a good price!

Re laundry washes. I always take down the time to the lowest time. It says you are only meant to do that for a few items but I shove it all in and it's been fine so far! Our machine does have an eco wash but it's 40degrees and we wash at 30 apart from nappies. Plus eco wash is 4 hours I don't have time for that!

The most dangerous thing I remember about that poster was that she suggested that people shouldn't take antidepressants. She saw it as a sort of weakness. She got quite rightly got roasted for that but I got the impression she said most things just to get a reaction.

northender · 29/08/2022 18:55

One name involved autumn leaves & another had summer in it I think

Yep. That’s the one.

it was probably also me who had the “bum cheek on show shorts”

how else did I get the money for the handbags

Timetoswitch · 29/08/2022 18:57

They only used to eat a certain type of meat and potatoes, everyday.

I remember that.

fair enough if that’s your personal view. Just don’t say it out loud!!!!

northender · 29/08/2022 18:58

decaff I wish you well with your investigations & my main advice is not to be afraid to chase things up if you experience delays. I'm glad I did as it definitely moved things along more quickly but wish I had started chasing sooner.

Timetoswitch · 29/08/2022 18:58

I definitely recall you being part of that conversation em 🤣

ememem84 · 29/08/2022 18:59

I’m watching videos on how to French plait. Dd needs hair up for pre school. I have never in my life French plaited anything. Not even my own hair. So I’m going to practice. On dd. In a bit.

then later while only connect is on DH is going to do my hair. Because he needs to learn too.

Ive pmed you and @Laska2Meryls

Decafflatteplease · 29/08/2022 19:00

Thank you @northender and all the best for you too! Apparently I should see someone within 2 weeks. They say my cyst is 7 by 5 by 5 and hypodense or something whatever that means 🤔. I'm in constant pain with it like it feels all swollen.

ThisisCollie2022 · 29/08/2022 19:10

Thank you hairband. I remember there was a poster who'd tell me off for prioritising things like National Trust membership.

And anytime I had a health complaint, her DS also had the same but would refuse to give him calpol. And yet always took him to various doctors constantly. Mine turned out to be MS so I sure hope her DS was OK in the end.

I also got told off for liking leopard print and highlighting my hair 😆

Anyhoo, feeling crappy and I've had to take extra propranolol. My eye sight has been dodgy today and the colliecat caught a bird! Ahh

Wolfcub · 29/08/2022 19:16

She or her da very often came down with the same (often very serious) complaints within an hour or so of others posting their own family or friend concerns. There was also a very vivid electronic pelvic floor device debacle

OP posts:
northender · 29/08/2022 19:17

Collie that was all the same poster

Bornlazy · 29/08/2022 19:26

OMG yes!! The pelvic floor device. I'd forgotten about that 🤣 I hadn't long joined here and I remember wondering if I was the only one who thought she was a bit off.

ThisisCollie2022 · 29/08/2022 19:32

Oh my gawd, well at least it was all the same poster!!

Lol at the pelvic floor device. 🤣 and squeeze!

I was worried that she was taking symptoms of diagnosed illnesses that we were discussing and going to her doctor with what we had written. So I opted to stay quiet in the end. Was so odd.

lifelongfrugaleer · 29/08/2022 19:35

@needastrongoneagain that is indeed the. Same fluffy.

Oh gosh yes, I remember now.. I got told off for clothes buying ....
As I obviously wasn't 'poor enough' for a frugal thread so what did I know ? .... despite us all saying that we frugal to be Able to afford stuff if it was in budget.. ( as long as we were not getting into debt) ....
They didn't understand that we didnt actually need to be totally on our uppers to properly frugal ..
I think Need , you were criticised for actually daring to have a pony !

ememem84 · 29/08/2022 20:17

I think I missed the pelvic floor device.
