Congratulations @namechangeanonymous !!!

Im the only one up, got a washing load in to get out on the line before work and a big mug of coffee.

Calm before the storm as I’ve got a verrrry busy week next week. As well as my own job I’ve got to do my dads as well as they’ve gone away. It’s only a small admin type business he does from home but I’ve not done the job since pre covid times, hope I can remember how to do everything! I did have a practice run while they were still here last week, think I’ve got the hang of it.

It’s getting hot here already, have a great day everyone.

BigSkies2022 · 10/07/2022 08:57

Wow, that is a big news day, namechange! Congratulations. Dunno why formatting is all over the place. Of course, your life has just become more expensive, but we are here to help you be frugal!

minesalargered · 10/07/2022 09:30

Morning.

Wonderful news namechange, hope you are doing okay.

Hope the scan goes okay em.

I remember all the kids clubs and activities taking so much time up time. Was exhausted by Friday!

I weirdly enjoy physio too decal!

minesalargered · 10/07/2022 09:37

Posted too soon...

Glad you had a super time north

Welcome grace

Spends yesterday was £25 in Sainsbury's as had a friend over for dinner. She likes gin, so I bought a bottle and some food stuffs for us, but she brought wine and drank that!! Don't really drink Gin, so will save or use as a present.

£4 parking too, which will be the same today. And £5 at Amazon for some hydration tablets for DD.

Have all the food I need in the house.

Hoping for a quiet morning doing chores.

lifelongfrugaleer · 10/07/2022 09:39

I’m at a craft day today might be spending

Wolfcub · 10/07/2022 10:34

My morning started at a very ungodly hour with vomit on the bedroom floor followed by a lake of foul smelling poo on the kitchen floor courtesy of ddog. Following the initial clean up operation we went to the park to dispose of the evidence in a municipal bin.

An extensive clean up operation started on the return home and the kitchen was duly sanitised and back in operation before 6.30. Dog and owner were both cleaned and disinfected and owner took the opportunity between loads of washing to read her book and have a cup of tea!

Dsg is now sleeping (and slightly worryingly not eating) whilst the owner bashes on with her bastard essay whilst listening to big globs of water fall from the hole in the ceiling into the bucket behind her.

DS remains at his dad's with a raging fever and will not be fit for school tomorrow.

Apart from the now spotless kitchen and bedroom the house is filthy and needs cleaning before the contractors from the insurance can come and make more of a mess of it on Tuesday.

On the plus side the lawn is mowed and the roses are deadheaded.

Le sigh!

Wolfcub · 10/07/2022 10:35

Congratulations namechange Flowers

Decafflatteplease · 10/07/2022 11:21

Many congratulations @namechangeanonymous hope you are both doing well that is lovely news.

@Wolfcub that sounds tough hope everything goes ok today. What's your essay (if you want to say!)

Everyone is shattered here. Teens still in bed but awake, ocado due soon. Everyone's just had lazy breakfast of croissant I had mine in the garden, bliss! No plans for today apart from a garden day, younger DC will do mud kitchen etc. I want to plant out some runner beans but I need to make a support frame for them first or some netting against the wall haven't decided yet but they are definitely ready to move from the greenhouse to outside! Also want to pick, blanch and freeze the masses of broad beans we have. Broad beans risotto over the summer I think!

Rough meal ideas for the week in no order.....

Homemade turkey meatballs and spaghetti
Fishcakes and wedges In airfryer. Peas.
Chicken curry, naan breads
Indian scrambled eggs (not tried this before) and chapati
Soy salmon noodles (reduced price salmon in the freezer)
Pork tacos.

ememem84 · 10/07/2022 11:36

Breakfast out this morning. £14 for eggs salmon bagel. Pricey but I was not disappointed. Picture does not do it justice. It was huge. The kids had the fluffiest pancakes I’ve ever seen. So yum.

minesalargered · 10/07/2022 15:39

I'm having a lovely quiet day, thank youSmile.

I forgot to post my menu plan..we have the cheap Gusto order to use £17.50 for four meals for four people). Hopefully some of these will cover dinners.

Potato topped broccoli and cheddar pie, peas
Meat free mince Biryani and green beans. Will add carrots too.
Meat free Teriyaki tray bake.
Meat free cheeseburger burger and salad
(Tried to stay away from things I'd cook easily or normally at home)
Other meals will be
Gnocchi with tomato and roast veggie sauce.
Sweet potato dhal.
Veggie chilli or similar.

Picked up another Too Good to Go bag from Costa and it has a lovely feta salad, a veggie sandwich, a veggie toasty and a big slice of brownie. Have some salad left from last night, so this will contribute to food use too.

Received another voucher for doing the ONS covid study -£20 so I've exchanged it for Sainsbury vouchers to get some additional veggie items that Lidl are less brilliant at.

You seem to get lucky with the too good to go bags! I've got the app aswell but rarely get anything from it as either everything has gone super early or they are difficult pickup times eg 6pm so bang on dinner time. Plus it means paying for parking aswell as alot of the cafes etd that do it are in the pedestrian bit of town.

My brother does it all the time but he lives in a city and no children so has time to walk round picking stuff up he gets all sorts!

minesalargered · 10/07/2022 16:16

decaff, the local Costa is about 2 miles away and has free parking. It's by far the most generous. Got a Starbucks one the other day that was okay for the cost but no where near the local Costa! Dying to try some of the veggie carvery options, but we've plenty of food in. It's definitely a few chains and stores that are on there, and not much else. I too find the timings inconvenient for some offers, I'm not going out at 9pm to collect things!

lifelongfrugaleer · 10/07/2022 16:35

Oh not the best start wolf. Hope doggo is drinking still.
i didn’t bother with 2 good to go for those very reasons decaf.

£4.10 national trust cafe as they were hosting the event and cheaper than the catering

lifelongfrugaleer · 10/07/2022 17:59

Any teachers know the school guidance for +ve covid? In secondary?
I should know this

Our school is saying 3 days isolation following a positive test plus longer if they still have a temp. It should be on the school website? Is your DC positive?

Wolfcub · 10/07/2022 18:31

Govt website says 3 days isolation after positive test.

lifelongfrugaleer · 10/07/2022 18:57

Yah I wondered if it was same as govt advice. Ds is +ve. First time ever

Wolfcub · 10/07/2022 19:02

Oh no, bugger. Is he feeling ok with it?

lifelongfrugaleer · 10/07/2022 19:09

Not really, it’s like he’s got flu. Wiped out with it.
wanted to put the fire on, err no it’s 28 degrees
