Forgot to say, had anyone frozen Brie? If so, is the texture the same afterwards?

No you cant. They texture gets grainy.

AdoraBell · 17/08/2022 20:55

Thank you, she’ll be disappointed but not as much as with “wrong” texture.

northender · 17/08/2022 22:23

Christmas appointment life? Eek!!

lifelongfrugaleer · 18/08/2022 06:16

I know. They do get very busy but flipping heck

lifelongfrugaleer · 18/08/2022 06:22

Good luck to any A/T levelers and teachers today

ememem84 · 18/08/2022 06:38

I’ve booked my Christmas appointments too. Makes sense. I tend to book nails and waxing at least 3 month in advance. Hair I book when I’ve finished my last appointment.

salons are getting busy here. Like no space for appointments at all!

im going to leave these here. These are the pictures DH got me for Christmas which we finally put up yesterday. They make me so happy.

back to office today.

Good luck to everyone getting their A level results today

lifelongfrugaleer · 18/08/2022 08:28

Oh they do look good em

Gensola · 18/08/2022 08:41

They look lovely em

had my nails and toenails done yesterday for the wedding and they said I should book my Xmas appt soon!

hair appt today. Another person has texted saying they can’t make it anymore with a vague excuse - I think covid has ruined peoples sense of decency! He must realise it’s costing us money if he pulls out now?! Barring a genuine crisis I would not do this to a friend.

lifelongfrugaleer · 18/08/2022 08:54

From the Christmas thread, though I just googled Northumbria water free kit

Okay, bit out of left field this one…

just saw on a gardening group that anyone with South West Water is entitled to order Free water saving products including a 100l water butt.

might be good if your other half gardens? Says allow 16 weeks for delivery.

Lots of other water suppliers are on the list, I’ve checked ours (Severn Trent) and can’t see any, but worth looking at your supplier’s site and searching ‘free kit’

AdoraBell · 18/08/2022 09:36

Good luck to all getting results.

em those pictures are lovely.

We bought water buts last week, just have to fit them now.

Unescorted · 18/08/2022 09:47

Hope it is all going well in results world.

DD is waiting to hear if someone from her 6th form will be joining her college. She is more nervous than for her own results.

LuxembourglivinginDenmark · 18/08/2022 10:13

em those pictures are Really Nice

ememem84 · 18/08/2022 12:07

Thanks guys. Aren’t they lovely? I’m so pleased with them.

good luck to all getting results today!

am currently loitering outside Burger King waiting for DH. We’re having lunch. He said he’d treat me to a burger. He treats me nice! 😂

I don't do nails at salon, but probably need to book colour and cut for end of Nov. My hairdresser doesn't book sooner than 3m in advance (it's the way she is and I appreciate it), so I'll probably book mine in September. Nail salon I used to go to doesn't book sooner than month in advance.

minesalargered · 18/08/2022 16:44

I'm friends with my hairdresser, I get sneaked into appointments if there's a cancellation and I've text her.

Nails - occasionally, mine need a break every so often as they get too weak. Toes more often though, when I can afford it, but they last ages.

£67 Lidl, including 2 bottles of wine for the weekend when I'm catching up with a friend. One to take to hers, one for me in the house,

minesalargered · 18/08/2022 16:48

And thank you, life, just ordered my free water saving kit from Yorkshire Water!

LuxembourglivinginDenmark · 18/08/2022 19:19

Nsd today. But have my eyes on some sandals so might order them later

Potterurotter · 18/08/2022 19:28

quite a low spend day today, spent £25 in next on clothes for my 9 month old because she had croup at the beginning of the week was very unwell with a temp of 40C. but thankfully is now much better.

£7.50 in b and m on a nice new mug and some toys for the bath then £5.50 on a drink and a bag of crisps in costa.

Fearofawelshplanet · 18/08/2022 20:42

Lsd::: used 2 pound free coupon in lidl, 15 pound in charity ship for dd but it comes out of her clothes pot, I saved 50 pound for that. So not a budget spend if that makes sense. Made some picture frames into notice boards today to put meal plan and shopping list ( to write what the cupboards have run out of, so I can add them to my shopping list) free frames, free pretty wrapping paper and white board pens for writing on the glass voilà! ; 😉 yep, I'm bored. Lol. Return to work wasn't as bad as I expected...yet... Good luck to all the A/T levels... my twins have gcse results next week!

ememem84 · 19/08/2022 07:52

Have also gone back to transferring the penny amounts from my current account to a savings account. My Lloyds ac does this automatically but my hsbc one needs to be manually done. Sigh.

xogossipgirlxo · 19/08/2022 10:13

£55 grocery shopping
£46 facetheory (planned in a budget: 2 serums, face oil and face cleanser)

AdoraBell · 19/08/2022 11:28

Gym this morning, £37 for PT session. Sounds expensive but I do so much more in the session than on my own.

DH bought coffee afterwards and we picked blackberries, been doing that for a few weeks.
