Oo good luck north
Hope the pea pop out em or have now been digested
Sorry to hear about the counselling
Good luck with them weight loss

Happierwithouthim · 30/07/2021 08:35

Em is there any chance they never went up there at all? But on a positive note your children eat peas Wink

Mrsmadevans how horrible that there's no appreciation, my Nan is 94 and so polite and thankful to all of us who help out with her.

Marthasmum I get to that point sometimes too just get it done Wink

North best of luck with interview & interested to hear how you get on with nhs weigh management too, there's a few of us frugaleers on the weight loss board if you fancy joining us.

Wolfcub · 30/07/2021 08:38

Pay day (thank goodness) paid myself first and have redone budget to account for higher mortgage costs, higher life insurance costs and puppy costs

Tayto sorry to hear about the counselling and wise words re names on bills. I was lucky that, as I did all the finances, my name was on most things. But on the few it wasn't getting them changed was a nightmare

Sent off my application for a new driving licence along with what feels like 100 pieces of evidence. Not looking forward to the passport application which is ridiculous in its demand for evidence

It's peeing it down and we have an outdoor puppy class at lunch. Anyone needing waterproofs regatta are 60% off and there's an extra 10% off code.

Gensola · 30/07/2021 08:41

Good luck north

em that’s a pain about thé peas, but if doctor says they’ll work their way out then all good? A waste of time for you though, annoying.

mrs I don’t know how you do it, I know how that sort of family behaviour feels and I think you are such a star for keeping going.

Spenny day in London yesterday - £200 on tattoo, then also brunch out with a friend and takeaway pizza from a van for dinner.
FIL funeral tomorrow so getting ready for that.

CamdenLurker · 30/07/2021 08:51

Good Morning everyone! Happy Friday Grin

Just wanted to say thanks for all the good vibes yesterday too!

Payday here too, I've just been doing the same wolf - moving money around and trying to get ahead of myself by working out what extras I'll need to pay for in August.

I've been through July's spends and it seems quite a bit more came out of the account than I had planned, we were on holiday last week, which i did have money set aside for, but when you see it written down it's a bit ShockHmmConfused

Gen - sounds like good but spendy day out yesterday. I hope everything goes well tomorrow Thanks

Em - I never thought I'd miss the days when I had a toddler that didn't sleep or peas up their nose, but I really do lol, is it cake for breakfast? Looks fab.

Mrs - it's tough when there's no thanks and you're being run ragged, especially when there's other that could help but just don't.

Off to Aldi soon, dd2 is coming along so that'll be a few more £'s on the bill, at least she will help me carry it in though.

Sun is shining here today, fingers crossed it stays for the weekend.

Happierwithouthim · 30/07/2021 09:07

Sounds like we're all sorting stuff out this morning, this is my YNAB screen €500 in transactions not recorded in my YNAB from my current account Shock who even am I? I've got my own Instagram page for budgeting I should be better than this Wink well moving house and holidays will do that. 20 mins at my pc will fix it up next week. I'd like to get it done before month rolls over so I might pop into office and print out my bank statements tomo Hmm

Payday here too. Thanks god

ememem84 · 30/07/2021 10:13

happier nope they def went up there. I saw them. Dd told me I looked then before I could do anything about it she shoved her finger up there too and smushed them higher up. 🤦🏻‍♀️

But yes. They eat peas. 😂

Gym just done. It was a tough session.

Happierwithouthim · 30/07/2021 10:20

Em I wasn't doubting you just hoping for the best.

Tomo I've guests was meant to be a garden party obviously that's not going to happen now. A vegan who will eat organic chicken, another who won't eat chicken. This is in a group of 7 was meant to be 4 couples now its 2 original couples plus 3 others. Have decided on the spicery beef curry and a creamy chicken dish, both can be served with rice & chips & vegan plait that went down well with everyone when I did it previously.

Happierwithouthim · 30/07/2021 11:11

They're pretty I'm keeping them Grin

So this happened today, photos not attaching. Tv screen cracked. It was in a delicate position resting on the hearth until I got a drill bit to put it up on chimney breast but now it doesn't work anymore Sad

ememem84 · 30/07/2021 18:04

Oh man happier not good

I’ve just broken a glass. It was full of wine. 😭

Happierwithouthim · 30/07/2021 18:27

That's not good either em Grin
I'm going to see a second hand one this evening

ememem84 · 30/07/2021 20:03

To make it worse happier it was the last of a bottle of rose. 😭😭😭

Never mind.

MeadowHay · 30/07/2021 20:10

Spends : £9 groceries in little supermarket, £103 groceries in big supermarket Blush not sure how we managed that...

Frugal wins: dentist check-up which was free due to my maternity exemption card.

northender · 30/07/2021 21:31

Gen hope tomorrow goes as well as it can.
Thanks for all the positive vibes, I got the job!! The interview went well, I got some really positive feedback & I will start my advanced practice study on Sept 1st. After my initial apprehension I am properly excited now!
Pub lunch out with dh , aunty and cousin, was lovely, but £70. Weighed in this morning 7 pounds down. Woohoo! Was struggling to find you on the weight loss board Happier but will have another look.

Happierwithouthim · 30/07/2021 22:40

North Frugaleers - April 2021 onwards http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/4225011-frugaleers-april-2021-onwards

€130 on a secondhand 42" tv, guy felt sorry for me so gave me it for that instead of €150 advertised price

€197 in Dunnes on quite a lot of alcohol & stuif for tomorrow nights gathering & €40 Aldi on groceries

HumbugWhale · 31/07/2021 07:41

Morning all! Nice to see you Camden.

I need to get back on that weight loss thread I think. It's unlikely to happen during the summer holidays though. I might as well wait until September.

Should be NSD today after a spendy couple of days.

Gensola · 31/07/2021 07:49

Yay north well done!
We are about to leave for funeral. Dreading it tbh.
It’s our first wedding anniversary tomorrow, we are going to a tree nursery to get some new shrubs and a small tree to plant in the garden, and DH has booked a swanky restaurant for dinner. Looking forward to that at least. The theme of first anniversary is paper gifts so I got him some silver cufflinks in the shape of paper planes (he wears cufflinks almost daily for work) Grin

ememem84 · 31/07/2021 09:19

Morning all!

Just lost my shit at the dc. In the space of 30 minutes all toys out all over the floor, dd spilled a drink over the couch (milk…!) and dd knocked over my anniversary flowers

I’ve threatened to throw everything away.

Happierwithouthim · 31/07/2021 12:36

Oh em dc spilt hot choc in my car the other day

Happierwithouthim · 31/07/2021 12:43

Were they accidents?

Happierwithouthim · 31/07/2021 12:47

Bought myself a freedom ring today €169.95 and the lady didn't charge me the €20 for my ear piercings at all, said it was to wish me luck.

€0.60 parking

€3 sandwich

€52 on Bluetooth speaker for my gathering tonight, haven't time to search for Alexa & two sets of cutlery, oven liner, carpet cleaner in homestore & more used last of my voucher too

€30 nails including shellac removal, next time it'll be €25 because she applied the nails.

CamdenLurker · 31/07/2021 13:07

Hey guys!

Went to Aldi with dd2 yesterday - spent £93 on not very much really, but I did have toilet roll and a case of Magners.

Went out with a friend last night, haven't seen her since 2019, had dinner, 3 courses, but was driving so no alcohol spent £32.50.

This morning I've had an eyebrow shape and spent £60 in Superdrug, I went in to buy shampoo and some perfume for dd1's birthday in a few weeks, they had a special offer on of buy one fragrance get one half price, as I wasn't prepared for this I took the advice of the woman serving me and picked up Marc Jacobs dot for £15.

Not much going on today, Dh is out, ds2 at football, dd2 at dance so it's just me and dd1 watching the athletics, but the weather here is dry at least so that's good.

Happier - what's a freedom ring, never heard of it before, I'm intrigued Smile

Thinking of you today Gen
*
Humbug & North - I also really need to get my head back into the weight loss game, but for some reason I really struggle with saving money and dieting at the same time, it seems I just can't give both my full commitment.
*

Happierwithouthim · 31/07/2021 13:23

It's my name for post divorce ring, I miss my rings and in time might wear them again on my right hand but for now they'll stay locked up in safe! Wink

It's being resized so I'll have it next week

Sounds like good value for dinner, not drinking is a real money saver Grin
