Woo happier well done

Em if dh wants to be a martyr let him. You enjoy yourself and don't share

Rough rough day today. I am having drinks in the virtual pub with friends tonight so hopefully that will help

Unescorted · 02/04/2020 19:15

Happier Whoooop Whoooop!

em sugar is essential. As is beer, wine and crisps.

Tayto Needs must.

Sea C25K is amazing to get started. Which side do you heels wear on your shoes?

North - she goes from being unfazed to full on panic in the blink of an eye. She is the "departmental superstar" so will get the top grade if they go with the ranking and usual distribution methodology of grading that I have seen mooted - but as Art, Design & 3D are all by assessment she and her teachers are not sure if she needs to complete the works and they assess on that. She is working as if she does. Her other worry is that Oxford won't have room for her - they only take 2-4 students each year for her college for Fine Art and there is only enough room for 25 - 30 FA students in the teaching college.

Mrsmadevans · 02/04/2020 19:37

Unescorted l am keeping everything crossed for your DD to get into Oxford, she must be so talented and it is so important to her Smile
Did a lovely Beef Casserole & dumplings for tea & banana microwave cake , it's stodgy but delish Grin
Happier l have never made Rissotto Blush must give it a go Smile
pic of beef casserole & cake Grin cake very anaemic Grin

Mrs M - she is ( and I am only very slightly biased) - she also puts in the time. 1000's of hours since she was little.

Loving the casserole … I am hungry all over again.

SnugglySnerd · 02/04/2020 20:46

Wow Happier!

ChristmasSeacow · 02/04/2020 20:49

Like the ikea tray Mrs Wink we have two of those and love them! I also love beef and dumplings, 😋

Em sugar /chocolate is definitely essential (but going into the office isn’t)

Unescorted I assume she got a conditional offer? And is likely to get the grades by any methodology? I’ve never heard of anyone who has had an offer, meets the offer and is then turned away. These are unusual times but still, they don’t offer many places over the quota at all because most people do make the grades, and they assume they will.

I wear my shoes away on the outside of the heel. What would you recommend? I like the looK of Happier’s ones too, I guess I might end up spending a bit more than I’d hoped. Gotta decide whether I'm likely to stick with it but in any case, I feel I should own a single pair of trainers that fit!

I think I’m a complete lockdown cliche:
banana bread made - tick
Virtual pub / quiz - tick
Bought tomato plants like I’m suddenly not going to see a tomato in the shops ever again - tick
Bought a headset for my phone for long work calls - tick (this is ace, btw)
Now thinking of taking up running. Ha ha.

I might be a bit of a Lockdown dick.

Kids have been hard work today, DS is really unsettled and he sets DD off. Sigh. Really excited about nice weather on Sunday though - out in the garden for sure!

ChristmasSeacow · 02/04/2020 20:50

Ohh Happier I missed your debt-free post - yay!

maddenlightfoot · 02/04/2020 21:09

✋ I have that ikea tray too! It has my kettle on it and makes me happy every time I make a cuppa!

Unescorted · 02/04/2020 21:14

Wolf missed you shity day post. You can have wine with me.

Sea - she has a predicted 3A*, offered 3A. Never got less than an A for any bits of work submitted ( written & practical) but she is a worrier. So she is finishing off all the bits that need to be done by 6th May as quickly as she can just in case the date is moved but the work remains the same. Her teachers are being so supportive & reminding her she is their top student.

Take up running! Now is the best time to do it - no one is about so you can't be self conscious.

Wolfcub · 02/04/2020 21:18

Thanks Unescorted. I've done a good job on a bottle of wine. Possibly slight too good of a job Wine

Unescorted · 02/04/2020 21:23

On the shoes - same as me. I find Nike Air good for road / flatish tail and parks. They have quite a bit of height in the sole so I don't take them on uneven ground in case I go over on my ankle. My core muscles aren't strong enough at the moment to correct a mis step or trip ( must do more planks...). I find I get less shin splints than if I run with thinner soles. I normally get mine as end of lines ( I take a 40) in really awful colours and spend no more than £60.

Unescorted · 02/04/2020 21:24

Wolf I am doing my best too....

ememem84 · 02/04/2020 21:26

Oooh crisps.

Signed up to Disney plus. Mostly for dsis (have shared the log in with her). But so much stuff 😂

ememem84 · 02/04/2020 21:26

Oh and I’m not sharing the chocolate.

Unescorted · 02/04/2020 21:38

We may have got Amazon Prime..... it is almost medicinal

Wolfcub · 02/04/2020 21:44

Unescorted prime is great. New Amsterdam,Picard, Absentia, Mrs Maisel, Jack Ryan, All or Nothing (all the American football and rugby ones), looming Tower, Bosch (massive crush on Titus Welliver), Madame Secretary if you didn't watch it on sky

Unescorted · 02/04/2020 22:22

Lockdown is not looking so bad after all..... the garden is going to have to wait another year.

LaneBoy · 02/04/2020 22:34

Lockdown dick :o is that the opposite of a Covidiot? :o

I’m annoyed, just realised I missed April’s payment to the govt help to save account. Setting up a standing order was one of the many things I’d not got round to 🙄🤦‍♀️

ChristmasSeacow · 02/04/2020 22:35

Thanks Unescorted. Really, her place isn’t going to go away, she’s going to be fine. Lovely to get finished earlier though.

Will check out the Nikes too. As for not being seen though... aren’t all the Lockdown Cliché people out? Ha ha, we newbies can wave to each other

Wolf I loved Mrs Maisel. Her parents were wonderful. And those costumes . Blossom Dearie is one of my favourite singers too, and they used her loads on the soundtrack.

ChristmasSeacow · 02/04/2020 22:36

Lane I suppose it is 😂

lifelongfrugaleer · 03/04/2020 06:54

Hope today is a better day with DC. Definitely looking forward to better weather again at the weekend. And feeling better to enjoy it. Bloody cold.

Loving lockdown dick. Made me chuckle Grin. I will be making banana bread at some point soon, have multiple work headphones, all the subscription channels.
Haven't done the quiz but there is tonight, not allowed to run but would if I could.

I'm a lockdown dick - tick

It's like I'm Spartacus, love it.

No advice on trainers sorry. Haven't put mine on all week and the pounds are creeping on. Meh when I'm better.

ememem84 · 03/04/2020 07:07

Am absolutely a lockdown dick. Baked bread. All tv subscriptions. Taken up running.

Day off today. Well. Not off. But no work.

lane set up the standing order today.

SnugglySnerd · 03/04/2020 07:24

I must be one too. I've planted vegetables, baked bread, done Joe Wicks every morning, washed the shopping and plan to make soup with sad veg today Grin

ChristmasSeacow · 03/04/2020 07:26

Oh yes, I forgot Joe Wicks. If you do that you are 100% in the club. I’m a bit wobbly on that one because DS screeches if I move the coffee table. But I did try.

ChristmasSeacow · 03/04/2020 07:27

Also, extra points for Sourdough.
