Unescorted · 08/12/2019 20:22

She is beautiful & sooooo happy lap
em did the adults get to go trampolining too?

I managed to get ds to help do the sorting YaY….. it was getting a little out of hand. Shines halo.

No news from dd - I assume she will be chit chatting away with all the other kids.

ememem84 · 08/12/2019 21:28

@Unescorted yep. Adults and kids on the trampolines. It was so much fun. I also had a go on the ninja warrior course they have set up. I aced the swinging monkey bars. Aced the spinning log balance beam. But failed at the rest. Had a go at the warped wall though. Failed.

Trampolines were so fun. I showed ds how to bounce. And then had a go at proper trampolines. I still got it. Dh has no idea I used to do it as a hobby. So he was a bit taken aback when I did a flippy. also my pelvic floor isn’t shot to pieces. Didn’t pee myself!

@LivingInLaputa lovely pic. She looks so proud. Wishing her all the best of luck at school. It’s going to be a massive change for all of you but I’m sure she’ll be fine xxx

northender · 08/12/2019 21:29

Have just been reading back & became so engrossed in figuring out people's names that I have no clue what anyone has been doing!
Belated birthday wishes Lap & well done to your dd.
Seacow fabulous gingerbread trees
Happier hope entertaining went well
unescorted best of luck to your dd. I am helping ds with his personal statement & know exactly what you mean about the time flying.
Plan & I have the same or similar name I think. Mine is the Frances HB character with an extra letter on the end.

Really productive weekend here. Work Christmas do was on Friday & was really good. I'd already paid for it so it was another £28 for drinks.
Went out with dh last night (probably £40), in the early evening we went to some friends' who were having an open house. She has been having treatment for breast cancer and this was a thank you to friends for their support so was lovely.
The rest of the weekend has been spent in the house sprucing things up a bit. No spends as we had all the paint, cleaning stuff etc already & things are looking better already although there is still more to do. My day off is tomorrow so I am planning to carry on then.

ememem84 · 08/12/2019 21:57

Money resolutions for the new year.

  • no spend on anything but essentials in January (so no new clothes shoes beauty products etc. Unless I’ve run out of something - nails, waxing, riding gym all allowed as are not “stuff” (am also trying to have less stuff).
  • no beauty spends in 2019. Or at least as far into it as I can get. I have so much stuff to use up. May need to replace some things (shampoo and deodorant) but I think I can probably get to May without spending.
  • end 2020 with a decent amount saved up (ideally around £10,000 in savings)
Girliefriendlikespuppies · 08/12/2019 22:41

lifelongfrugaleer · 09/12/2019 06:49

Enabling alert. I've just got an alert to say the instant pot is £59.99 on Amazon. Still not convinced I need one though.

SnugglySnerd · 09/12/2019 07:12

Good luck today Lap's dd!

lifelongfrugaleer · 09/12/2019 07:12

I had a go at a pannatone yesterday but it's more like a pannacake. Defo not risen to the occasion Grin

Just checked in with the news today. A volcano has erupted in nz. This time 5 years ago I was on said volcano. Looking into the crater.

Apprently there were tours on it at the time of eruption. 50 people on or near the island. One confirmed fatality. 23 rescued. Scary stuff.

lifelongfrugaleer · 09/12/2019 08:09

Gosh that is scary

northender · 09/12/2019 10:04

Oh life I now have to block your post from my mind!! I had decided not to get one, but, at that price........

Good luck to your dd Lap

Plancina · 09/12/2019 10:10

north yes, that’s my name too Grin DP is deep in my bad books as he left the room saying he was going to make me coffee an hour ago and then went on the phone and forgot. He had one job! One job! 😄

Bornlazy · 09/12/2019 12:41

Hope dd is getting on ok at school lap you must be so nervous for her.

I’m not feeling great today got a bit of a scratchy throat and feel a bit achy. Ds2 is off school with a viral thing so I’m having a lazy day. I’ve almost finished my Christmas shopping but still need to buy cards. I hate buying all the special cards I get all mixed up with what I’ve got/not got.

ememem84 · 09/12/2019 12:42

plan Dh did that to me last night. I bought lovely bedtime pukka tea. He promised to make me a cup and bring it to me in bed. I was asleep before he brought it up. I could have gone downstairs to get it myself but was warm and snuggly in bed and had catface for company

£34 in boots. I wandered over and bought nappies deodorant and shampoo (the two products I’m sure I’ll run out of and have none in the stash). I boggled at how expensive pampers are. £8.40 a pack. The ones we buy from boots are £3 something. For more nappies than pampers. How do people afford pampers?!?!

LivingInLaputa · 09/12/2019 13:06

Totally unapologetic uploading of second photo in as many days :o

I was actually not too nervous and once she was up and dressed she wasn’t either! She loved it, did really well in DT and did some catch up work in history (French revolution which we’ve not covered at home although she knew a bit from Horrible Histories 😂) talked to other kids and already made a friend who is also autistic and dyslexic like her :) she asked for longer days already so I’ve emailed the senco asking if she can add period 3 next week.

Yikes at the volcano :( So scary.

Pannacake :o still looks tasty.

Well done lap DD
I've finished my Christmas shopping

SnugglySnerd · 09/12/2019 19:30

Well done Lap's dd. It's great that she can get a couple of weeks under her belt before the Christmas break.

I am ready for the Christmas hols now. We had a fun, festive weekend and going to work this morning just seemed a bit rubbish!

Dh is going out to buy the double issue Radio Times in a minute so I can plan my viewing!

ememem84 · 09/12/2019 19:43

snuggly I’m buying it tomorrow!!! It’s one of my favourite Christmas traditions. 😂

WreckTangled · 09/12/2019 20:08

Lap so pleased dd enjoyed her first day. I just got dd's initial piano exam results and she got 95%! So pleased. She's doing her grade 1 next term

SnugglySnerd · 09/12/2019 20:48

Mine too Em! I always go through with a highlighter so I don't miss anything good!

Wow, Wreck she did brilliantly!

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 09/12/2019 21:03

Aww lap, so glad dd had a great first day!
