Homemade Bakewell tart was ace.

HotChocolateLover · 26/05/2019 19:49

So excited. Been to Sainsbury’s the last three evenings and have been going mad
On the yellow sticker aisle. Seem to have made friends with the woman who wields the gun and she has been giving me 75% discounts, i’m Literally in heaven. Totted
Up my savings and it was £107.62! Bargains included 3x duck with pancakes, 3 x Sainsbury’s best tuna steaks (2 in the pack), 3 x chicken and mushroom pies, 3 x steaks. Won’t need to shop for ages. Sorry if this post sounds boasty but i’m So excited!

lifelongfrugaleer · 26/05/2019 20:05

Love a yellow label bargain.
I though your mil was unusually nice there em

No other spends today.

Mil has fractured her wrist.

happytobemrsg · 26/05/2019 21:53

Well done Chocolate! Clearly much better at this frugaleering than me!

Today is my 6th NSD of the month. Managed 9 days last month, I don’t think I’ll be able to match that this month. I’m finding it really, really difficult not spending on treats but knowing I’m stopping work at the end of July forces me not to spend. I’m trying to clear my CC (last £55 to go) & put away as much in savings as possible as well as put a bit aside to top up my maternity allowance. Some days it’s just so tough, too tough.

Yay success! The last pic is what I've been working on this weekend, it's quite stoney soil so have put some rockery plants in to see how they do.

Watched les mis with dd this afternoon, we're both wrung out now 😭

happytobemrsg · 26/05/2019 22:32

Looks brilliant Girlie

lifelongfrugaleer · 27/05/2019 07:16

Looks lovely girlie

Going to see dippy today £11 train as DH is driving up to meet us after his DM is at fracture clinic. £0
Assuming no call out or I will have to pay for a return train.
Will pack a rucksack with snacks

Pub lunch £30 I imagine

Wolfcubisthefemalenominal · 27/05/2019 07:50

Girlie that’s lovely

Going to have a cuppa in bed and then get up and finish the last few bits of packing. St haven’t told ds we are going so should probably do that too. Can’t check in until four so need to time departure carefully to fit in lunch/possibly cuppa with parents who are on hols up near there until tomorrow and shopping in Lidl

Wolfcubisthefemalenominal · 27/05/2019 07:51

Life poor Mil, will she be able to manage one handed for a bit?

ememem84 · 27/05/2019 08:13

Dippy as in the dinosaur who was at the nat history museum? Cooool!!

happytobemrsg · 27/05/2019 08:57

I seem so much better at not spending the second half of the month - I wonder why that is?! 🤔

ememem84 · 27/05/2019 09:04

mrsg I meant to say yesterday but forgot. I bought a pair of maternity shorts on asos a few weeks ago. The bump band bit is detachable...! Have a look for things like this if you’re worried about spending on time limited stuff.

I didn’t know these were like that when I bought them though.

Happierwithouthim · 27/05/2019 09:11

Cagliostro · 27/05/2019 10:01

£0? FFS happierex 🙄😡 hope she had an amazing day!

Girlie that looks gorgeous! We have made a start on the garden but have no more funds to spare for it really so will build up over the next few years I hope!

Swim and steam today yay! Just waiting for friend. Then when I get back I’m sorting through some less-enjoyed games to sell. Should make a few quid but the space we will gain is really important too... we have more books than I thought 😳 despite having a massive clearout when pregnant! We need more shelves for the home ed stuff now too.

Ooh wolf I finally tried Azul stained glass of sintra yesterday, it’s great! Still want to get the original at some point though :o

I made chocolate French toast today, it worked well! Now I’m wondering about getting Dulce de leche to try instead 😋

Cagliostro · 27/05/2019 10:02

Fab Cag I might give that a go. I’m looking into Dizzle at the moment but only the German edition available

Hope dd has a great fhc Happier

happytobemrsg · 27/05/2019 10:34

Thanks em. I’ve had a look on ASOS & I’ve ordered a jumpsuit (ok for work or casual), a summer dress (denim, casual), black/white casual t-shirts, white top (work or casual), cargo trousers (casual). Luckily we dress down on Fridays so I can at least get lots of use out of the clothes. Got 20% off as I downloaded their app. Spent £107 but not counting it as a “spend” yet until I know if I’m keeping anything. All arriving tomorrow. I guess I’ll get use out of them at least a month after baby arrives too & on my fat days.

Happier I hope your DD had a fantastic day! Sounds like you went all out for her to make it special.

cag I wish I had bits left to sell, I think I’ve sold it all now when we cleared the house out before the builders got here. Enjoy your swim & steam, I’m super jealous Envy

Might be going out to buy a new bed for DS & a futon for the nursery. I’ve been trying to convince DH to do this for months - one word from his sister & BOOM we’re off to Benson for Beds later 😡

ememem84 · 27/05/2019 10:59

Spend alert. £597 on bbq, bbq cover and cat food (catface is refusing to eat the food I bought accidentally thinking it was her usual one). £17.49 on 2kg of food. Ffs. We used to get it for £9 on amazon prime with subscribe and save but they only now do s&s on the massive bags.

Bbq was spendy. But it’s exactly what dh wanted. And garden centre had vouchers which they posted out for £100 off when you spend over £500. Free delivery and bbq build too. Yay.

Now at the community centre playground with ds and dh. I’m a bit sad that the cafe at the community centre isn’t open today. I super fancied a coffee and a bacon roll....

ememem84 · 27/05/2019 14:09

Sorted a bag of charity shop stuff. And have two bags of ds’ clothes to go to friends. Both have boys younger than him and the stuff I’ve sorted is “really boyish” (ie says “little dude” or more boy dinosaur stuff on it) I’ve kept the more neutral stuff (and some of my fave dinosaur stuff).

WreckTangled · 27/05/2019 15:31

Well I was going to do nothing today whilst dh works but instead I've ended up with my friends 3 dc Shock so me and 5 dc. They're playing in the garden atm...

ememem84 · 27/05/2019 15:44

Woah wreck thatsalottakids
I’m having a clear out. So far one laundry basket of clothes is ready for the charity shop. BAgs sorted for friends.

Am slowly getting there with new baby organising.

Dh has tidied the garden.

He’s taken ds to visit Fil now. So I can carry on tidying and cleaning.

darkriver19886 · 27/05/2019 16:27

£20 spent over the last 3 days. Should be no spend until Thursday now.

Happierwithouthim · 27/05/2019 16:46

That looks lush cag
Hope ye are all enjoying yer bank holiday, ours is next weekend.

House had two viewings last week and another two happening around now today Grin
