Happy fathers’ day all, and especially to those who are missing their dads ❤️

Bed at 3am (making fondant Peppa Pig cake toppers 😬) and up again at 6am with DD. I’ve felt better.

DS has pulled the curtain rail down in DD’s room, bringing a huge chunk of plaster with it. I could do without this! There’s a lintel in the way so it’s really hard to drill in around there. Think I might get a handyman in, though mine has retired so I need to find someone else.

There’s a lot more curly people than I had expected here! (though I had kind of worked it out with Curls Wink) .

ChristmasSeacow · 16/06/2019 12:00

Yum yum. DH is happy!

Seacow they look amazing!! You're a very good baker 👩‍🍳 not sure how you function on 3 hours kip though!!

Em probably because dd is a blonde, I was blonde as a child but my hair seems to get darker the older I get.

I think I put too much product in my hair Ystd as it felt awful this morning, have washed it and it still feels better than usual so will try again with the curly girl method.

Had a lovely time last night, the restaurant were fine about the cake!! I arrived a few mins before my friend so didn't even ask them if it was okay just handed it to them saying hide this!! 🤣 The cake was well received so pleased I made it. The meal was £25 and really delicious.

Today we were good and did the parkrun, we then went and got dd some more fish. Have got little fish that apparently are fine in a smaller tank, dd very happy £15.

Cat biscuits £14.

Popping to garden centre in a bit with mum and dd for a roast dinner, think mum will probably pay...

lifelongfrugaleer · 16/06/2019 15:23

They look lovely sea.
£64 Sainsbury's, £7 Ice cream after a father's Day walk for DH. In the town my df is buried but we didn't go to the cemetery

WreckTangled · 16/06/2019 21:33

Everything ready for dds birthday tomorrow. Feeling guilty for spending too much on her. I can't win! Cool balloons though

DS did some of the best swimming he’s ever done today. Don’t get me wrong he’s no Olympian (yet) but dh didn’t hold on to him much and he used both his arms and his legs to move himself.

I stayed poolside and was super encouraging. There were only two kids in the lesson today. So that was nice.

Ds did have s bit of a strop mid lesson because they hadn’t done jumping in yet. He bloody loves jumping in.

Had dinner with dparents. Ddad was super chuffed with his gift and his grandad card from ds.

Dsis took some pics of ds using snapchat with all the filters. One gave him cat ears. He looked confused as couldn’t feel his new ears....

lifelongfrugaleer · 17/06/2019 06:26

Nice balloons.
Nsd planned today

northender · 17/06/2019 10:06

Happy birthday to your dd wreck, great balloons
Hope your ds' party went well curls
Dd has done some of the curly girl with her hair & it has worked really well.
Millionaire's looks fab Seacow
Girlie glad the meal was good & that the restaurant were okay about the cake.
It's been the usual cricket filled weekend here. Ds is having a bad time with fatigue again Sad. It's hard because the cricket causes a lot of the fatigue, but at the same time gives him a huge lift psychologically so trying to balance it out is really tough.
Spending has been pretty low for the past few days, we are doing well.
Dh did great frugal work with the kitchen & bathroom radiators yesterday. They look almost like new & they were really a rusting mess before. Forgot to take any before pics though. I never thought they would come up this well & was inclined to say lets just get new ones, but I'm so glad he gave it a go. The rusty chiminea is next!!
Day off today and am in super organising mode. Meeting cousin for coffee and taking ds to orthodontic appointment at the hospital this afternoon. It's a long appointment so I think it's when he has moulds etc done.

Happy Birthday to your dd Wreck, hope she had a good day.

NSD

Girliefriendlikescake · 17/06/2019 17:27

The threads gone quiet, hope everyone is okay....

Happy birthday to your dd wreck

Sorry to hear your ds is struggling with fatigue north it must be so frustrating for him.

I've had an okay day, work was alright had two nice pieces of feedback so that's always good!

Am getting seriously peed off with the weather, we haven't had a dry day for ages and am sick of not being able to hang washing out 😠 it's June ffs

Spent £3.40 on a lunch meal deal.

ememem84 · 17/06/2019 17:30

£44 at dr. Signed off for 3 days. Drs verdict is I have a sinus and throat infection. Antibiotics and lots of water and rest.

Spent part of the morning with dparents and ds. The rest of the day back home while they took him to the beach to build sandcastles. I’ve had a bit of a nap.

They dropped him back and helped me bath him. he pooped in the bath while grandad was helping 😂

northender · 17/06/2019 17:34

Hope you recover quickly Em

I'm here 👋! Just been off grid all weekend at a wedding. Spendy spendy but also great fun. Today has felt never-ending 💤
My house looks like a bomb has hit it (Family here all weekend looking after dcs + all of our packing and wedding paraphernalia dumped in the kitchen) and I can't be arsed to do anything about it (I will though - can't bear it)
But right now I can hear the children bickering so I best go and break it up 🙄

Happierwithouthim · 17/06/2019 18:08

I was also at a wedding at weekend, impulse spend €148.50 on hotel that night. We were given a suite but sure it was wasted on us because we were under the influence at 4am checking in & I was tired following morning and he was hungover.

€6 on food yesterday yellow sticker
€10.75 on lunch, toilet roll & yellow sticker chicken burgers that I've now realised I left at work Sad

Thatsnotmybaby · 17/06/2019 19:53

That sounds tough on your DS @northender. Will the summer break help him out a bit?

First relaxing evening of holidays after a couple of busy days preparing and traveling, children are asleep early thankfully.

Spent about £70 today on groceries, lots of nice holiday food and much less expensive and more relaxed that eating out all the time.

ChristmasSeacow · 17/06/2019 23:38

I’m here too! Just don’t have much time to post.

Sorry to hear about your DS North. It must be so hard at his age to have to budget his energies when he just wants to go at life at full throttle. He sounds like a lovely boy though, and very mature and constructive about it all Flowers.

I’ve spent the evening writing the parents’ report for DS’s imminent annual EHCP review. It’s been a depressing few hours writing up how he has made progress, or not, over the year. I realise that, although he has come along well in some areas at school, the deterioration in his behaviour at home is very marked and I am really
very stressed about what it might bode for the future Confused.

Anyway, I need to stop eating chocolate and generally feeding my stress. Someone slap some sense into me and send me back to Slimming World.

Nsd, although I lost DD’s favourite schleich tiger on the school run yesterday as it fell out of the pram hood where I had tucked it. Stilll nocsigb today. I am going to have to Amazon Prime a replacement before she notices, oops.

ChristmasSeacow · 17/06/2019 23:39

Still NO SIGN today. Ffs.

lifelongfrugaleer · 18/06/2019 06:36

Come on sea, don't into all that good work as you will just feel even more shite. Sorry it's so tough doing the forms though. X nsd yesterday another planned today.
Sorry DS is finding it tough again North. Hope you can get through it and he doesn't take the almighty plummet like before.
We went to secondary and were allocated a tutor last night. Signed up to the voluntary parent donation £5 per month.

ememem84 · 18/06/2019 07:16

Morning y’all and thanks for the get well wishes.

Dh has just brought me porridge toast and tea in bed.

Today’s jobs for me:

  • meal plan and shopping list - can do this from bed
  • object to proposed new development behind our house - from bed
  • bit of laundry - not much hassle to throw a load in while still in jammies
  • drink body weight in water
  • pee all the time (see above)
  • nap
  • finish “dead to me” on Netflix
  • put together list of final things we need to get for baby and/or me.
Thatsnotmybaby · 18/06/2019 07:48

That sounds very tough @ChristmasSeacow, Thanks to you.
Hope you have a lovely relaxing day @ememem84, and feel much better for it. I had a day on the couch last week with DS who was ill, it was only afterwards I realised how much I needed it too.
Early night last night, good thing too as it was an early start this morning. DS will be tired this evening so we will eat in, might have lunch out though. Just having a yummy holiday breakfast with prosciutto and manchego cheese.

lifelongfrugaleer · 18/06/2019 07:54

Sounds like a perfect gws day em.

ememem84 · 18/06/2019 09:25

Meal plan and shopping list done.
One load of laundry in machine one load in dryer/hung up in garage to dry one other load in basket ready to go into machine
Dishwasher packed and on.

Back in bed with about 13 litres of squash.

There is probably another half load of dishwasher to go on and a load of washing up to do. But later.

Am doing a boots order next. For maternity gubbins for me.

ememem84 · 18/06/2019 09:48

£41 boots via top cashback. Maternity pads (so many!!) nappies for ds and baby.

ememem84 · 18/06/2019 14:22

Just set up “save the change” on my Lloyd’s account.

Am now on bed (have showered etc) and am finishing off my assignment. I also stashed a few things in the ottoman storage under the bed. All. By. Myself. Bed is a bit heavy to push down but I did it!! Wahoooo.

ChristmasSeacow · 18/06/2019 17:58

Not sure what’s going on - I’m defo not pregnant - but I can’t stop thinking about Frazzles. Mmm. I’m About to pass an M&S. they must do an ersatz Frazzle.

It won’t be an nsd...
