£42 spent on clothes. Phew. Still need to replace my trainers really.

The meds helped and I’m not thinking about the gas bill

Girliefriendlikescake · 08/03/2019 17:11

Have made it to Friday, its been a long week!!

Yesterday spent about £2.50 on lunch and today with a nsd. It's been a low spend week really so happy with that.

This wend need to get a few bits including school uniform for dd who has had a massive growth spurt and shot up 4 inches in 2 months!! Also need a new kettle as my one has died, it's done quite well I suppose, 6 years ish...

Worked out today that my pay as a band 6 will only be about 20p more an hour than what I get now 😐 oh well at least it will go up year on year.

Lovemaltesers · 08/03/2019 17:25

Not dissing being 50, I just haven't come to terms with the approaching 40 yet though! Unfortunately young colleague was having an awful afternoon so will death stare him next week.

I am so relieved to have got through Friday!

NSD

Thanks cag that is so stressful dealing with something like that which you shouldn't have to sort

Unescorted · 08/03/2019 17:41

Cag that is a pain.

Love I am finding approaching 50 a lot less daunting than 40. I think people make a bid deal of 40 but just get on with it for 50. My mental age is still around 26. I can understand a death stare though.

Happier it is good that he continues to be a bell end... it reminds you why you are no longer together.

We have a very slow moochy weekend planned this week. DS is going to help me build up my other bike from the bike part piles. A weekend of fettling. I might make a cake too.... maybe

lifelongfrugaleer · 08/03/2019 17:47

Ah cag that is stressful.
Love Grin saving the death state is a bit harsh poor lad.

£2.50 on Gregg's today.

lifelongfrugaleer · 08/03/2019 17:48

Happier what a knob.

Wolfcub · 08/03/2019 18:21

Ffs I now need to buy a new oven tomorrow AngrySad

Ggreengrass1 · 08/03/2019 18:21

love don't worry I'm not offendedSmile

Cagliostro · 08/03/2019 18:23

New oven? Oh no :(

Thanks all.

Also just did grown up stuff and paid club invoices and sorted out the last block of trampolining, including the scary bit of telling people it is going to cost more this time. Eeeeeek.

I think I earned cake.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 08/03/2019 18:27

Oh no Wolf, that is terrible luck.
Have the cake CagCake

LonelyOversharer · 08/03/2019 18:55

cag I think you are dealing very well here! Not getting worried and getting some money admin out of the way. We have had a fair few of those letters. Sigh. Business debt. They largely send them to try to scare you into paying it quickly. Dig in. You do not owe this money we do owe ours, but dp has it in hand now

wolf at this rate the whole kitchen will be new. How bloody annoying.

wreck perfectly good meal plan, nowt wrong with mundane food the dc will eat without complaining.

Spends...well. Dp had to take my big dog to the vets. Was looking very poorly and shaky...slight temperature and needing a big poo (he did 3). I recon about £100. While we were all out yesterday he managed to reach a roll of kitchen paper. Which they shredded. So he might be chock full of paper.

The hutch will not fit in the car. Apparently the pet shop lady laughed a bit! They will deliver it next week (at no extra cost) and will lend us one tomorrow. life an unspecified number of Guinea pigs will be joining us for dd3's 11th birthday.

Will definately be making cake tomorrow. Going for a rainbow dead unicorn with a glitter sparkle piniata head. Thats the plan anyway.

Lovemaltesers · 08/03/2019 19:54

I meant to say to lonely the other day, well done for getting your DP to start sorting his debts too. I guess he's following your example now

lifelongfrugaleer · 08/03/2019 19:57

That's annoying wolf. Enjoy your pint.
Well done cag on distraction adulting.
Have you got dp stuff firmly in hand now lonely?
Ah gineas. Cute.

LonelyOversharer · 08/03/2019 20:04

love no! He's not following my example. I have relieved him of his credit cards, and reduced his outgoings to a minimum. All he needs to buy is fuel for his car, and his £10 phone top up. Anything else he can afford is a bonus. He is sooo shit with money.

life sort of. He is at the head-out-of-arse get in contact with everyone stage. Bank accounts are being closed and there is hope of sorting it all out.

WreckTangled · 08/03/2019 20:30

Wolf that's shit. Sorry it seems to be one thing after the other for you

Girlie is that because you were top of band 5 and now you're bottom of band 6? That is annoying but, as you said, at least you're guaranteed a pay rise for the next few years. When do you start?

I was telling ds about international women's day and he said that I'm not a woman I'm a lady. I told him they were the same thing and he said 'no, a lady is really special' 😁😍

I'm excited for tomorrow (booked before all this pay debacle) I'm going on an alpaca walk and then to a v v nice pub for lunch. Have been looking at the menu trying to decide if I should a) have something healthy b) have something cheap or c) say fuck it and have something big, unhealthy, pricey and delicious. I'll probably go with cheap and healthy-ish. Going with friends so should be good.

Girliefriendlikescake · 08/03/2019 20:45

Rainbow dead unicorn lonely 😳** hope your ddog is okay.

We're watching crufts!

Yes wreck it will be worth it but will be about 7 years until I'm any better off!!

Bank account looking okay for a change, March is a quiet month really tempts fate will try and move more money into savings.

Need to sort childcare for Easter, dd getting a bit old for holiday clubs really but wouldn't want to be on her own all day.

Girliefriendlikescake · 08/03/2019 20:47

Oh god not sure how I managed to bugger up the bold writing so badly Blush

lifelongfrugaleer · 08/03/2019 20:48

It's a step forward lonely

Lovemaltesers · 08/03/2019 21:02

Oh dear. How much debt does he have lonely? Is he keeping to his budget though?

Wolfcub · 08/03/2019 21:26

Girlie have you thought about something like Kingscamp for dd

Lonely fingers crossed dh moves from head out of arse to proactive shortly

Girlie it’s shite being at the top of the pay scale h was for years and it was painful. You have other benefits too don’t you in better hours etc?

Wreck eatthe unhealthy delicious expensive thing. It sounds like a fab day out

ememem84 · 08/03/2019 22:54

Alpaca walk?! Amazing!! Enjoy wreck

Who else has guinnea pigs? Is it meadow?

Bedtime for me. Mostly because I fell asleep on the couch. Oopsy.

ChristmasSeacow · 08/03/2019 23:31

I do that literally every night Em Grin

Enjoy Wreck. I’d not worry too much about healthy if it’s a rare treat!

Can’t really write much as one eye is quite infected and I’ve just put ointment in it and I can’t see anything. It’s surprisingly difficult to type with just one eye.

Moderate spends today - eye drops from yesterday were rubbish so I got a better ointment. And a chicken. Tomorrow will be a bit spendy as we are going to Kew Gardens with the kids. We’re taking a picnic, I just hope it’ll be warm enough to eat it quickly outside.

Thatsnotmybaby · 09/03/2019 08:41

Morning everyone.
Yesterday's spends £2 work canteen
More money than I want to say on a new raincoat but it was mostly birthday money and I've worn my current one to death so expect this one will be the same.
£26 on new car seat (had an old voucher that covered the rest)

Is it very nosy to ask what your picnic will consist of @ChristmasSeacow. Your food always sounds so yummy!

Have a good Saturday everyone, should be an LSD here, planning on mostly a quiet day at home. I'm in a decluttering mood this week so I might tackle some of that today.

Happierwithouthim · 09/03/2019 08:53

H made up his shortfall to joint account what's the betting he'll need to borrow from it again this week?

Price for BER cert for house €180

Yesterday was NSD treated to cinema, saw The Aftermath, really enjoyed it.

Getting up now for breakfast & gym
