Oh I have eating apples! Also have apple pie spice so that could be a good one? Hanks 😁

Em I can't stand rock cakes. Dh loves them but I think that's because it's the only thing he can make? Dd made some at school last week.

WreckTangled · 21/10/2018 09:07

Hanks is thanks obvs 🙄

Yes sea it looked amazing! Where was it again?

LonelyOversharer · 21/10/2018 09:08

Just plain fairy cake always a winner here wreck do you have any food colouring? Marbley cakes great fun to make a plain cake interesting. Blob of melted choc, and a smartie on top. I only use choc to 'ice' cakes for school as they don't go squishy in lunchbags, I hate losing icing to cling film.

em I work on that theory a lot so, my parents were away last week, and I know they'll feel bad about not seeing the dc. So I quickly booked 2xdd's in for 2 nights this week, as ds for a day. I found the trick is to never let on that you know they missed ds, and just ask as a huge favour. It's one of lifes win-wins.

I am the only one up here! And I napped through Strictly last night. So clearly knackered. Coffee to have and I'll clean another space in the conservatory for the next few boxes.

Fluffycloudland77 · 21/10/2018 09:30

Em I hope you still get a spin dryer though, they spin at 2800rpm and that combined with the centrifugal spin will get about a pint of water out of the wash after the washing machine.

You don’t realise just how sopping wet clothes are after normal spinning till you use one.

I’ve seen new ones on eBay listed as 3200rpm.

AutumnLeaves12 · 21/10/2018 09:37

Is it hard work on your back getting the stuff out of the hole in the top Fluffy? That's what puts me off.

People are on good form here too. Must be the day for it.

Fluffycloudland77 · 21/10/2018 09:42

No, I bob down on my heels to do it & just stuff it all in, pop the mat over the top and leave it to it.

I KNOW I go on about them but only because they work so well.

I’m still drying outside.

AutumnLeaves12 · 21/10/2018 09:42

I suppose the big upside of the spin dryer too, is that clothes are then not in the tumble dryer for so long, so don't get destroyed and shrunk quite so quickly. That would be a good thing.

ememem84 · 21/10/2018 09:54

I may still get one fluffy but may wait a bit. I like the idea of buying from eBay but postage here would be an issue.

I did look on Facebook selling sites and didn’t see any second hand.

ememem84 · 21/10/2018 09:56

Most are collection in person. So that wouldn’t work for me. Sigh. Well the cheap ones anyway. Ones with postage are £100

I'm a bit confused about switching energy suppliers. I just did it recently but I never have any idea of what the costs are that I'm actually paying during the contract or during the switch.

My energy monitor just chivvied me to get my act together and it wanted to know my calorific value. I looked up online at my old provider and it says I'm £500 in credit and still with one bill to go, and my new provider is all set up but with no bills. Who knows what is going on between them. I certainly don't.

AutumnLeaves12 · 21/10/2018 10:24

Here is our energy use for the last three months. The y axis is pounds per week.

So it turns out if you leave milky coffee in a contigo for two weeks it does not go mouldy.

LonelyOversharer · 21/10/2018 10:55

wolf I found dp's under a carseat. It had been there "some time" I won't frighten you it had a grey holey cheese at the bottom, and a clear liquid on top. I think it's as they seal so well so no air or bugs can get in. I use it now, but it had about 10 washes, milton and a lot of boiling water used on it!

Have sorted the laundry mountain. And several hundred pairs of socks. Seems no other human living here is capable of this task. Sigh. It's done now.

WreckTangled · 21/10/2018 11:01

I've got one load of washing on the line and another in the machine. Dh is investigating a putrid smell coming from behind the dishwasher 🤢

Cagliostro · 21/10/2018 11:06

DH left his at another store months ago and he never got it back. Should just get another one really, it would’ve paid for itself already in terms of tea being grabbed while out and about.

Have shown DH Danny and Charles’ dances on strictly. They were so good! Also showed DD some of Alfonso’s dances from Dancing With The Stars on YouTube, and of course the original Carlton, I think we may have to start watching Fresh Prince :o

I feel slightly more human this morning as baby actually slept most of the night in her bed. Blisters are worse though, I’ll eat my hat if it’s not HFM. I did have a brief ponder about chicken pox but the blisters don’t look quite right and also they are mostly on, unsurprisingly, feet and hands.

DD off for a sleepover later and I’ll go to Asda with DS as we are nearly out of nappies and milk. DH working. Day 2 of 4 days in a row (his schedule doesn’t normally work out like that so it’s a bit of a struggle for me, but it’s because he gets Thursday off for baby’s birthday). Easy as possible is the name of the game.

QuiteFabULousDahling · 21/10/2018 11:08

Morning!
Loved Strictly last night -DJJs jive was fabUlous !
Hmmm maybe Vicky or Lauren out tonight -did not like Laurens dance at all ,she didnt look like she enjoyed it either.

Sea I am not happy Angry
We need actual yarn details please Grin
Looks like you had a lovely and well deserved day out .
Echo what you said about Jams post and better to vent on a forum sometimes plus if we went on about how marvellous they are it would sound smug and be annoyingGrin
Mine is much better now -a year since "the talk" and I found ditching the emotion related to housework (doing it for love ,yeah bullshit) and aiming for "needs to be done so we have a comfortable nice life with no verminWink" works far better for all of us including me.

We have a list of stuff that needs doing weekly ,monthly and quarterly .
Who ever is around does them on a Tues/Friday .Then joint effort on Mobthly/Quarterly.
DH did most of it this week and Ive done some batch cooking.

DD is tidying her room and found a massive box of my yarn Blush
We have been "yarn shopping" and both have some lovely stuff.
The Sock -urgh so bored of it so dug out a shawl thats half finished and am doing that.
Sock will be appointments/bus knitting.
I also found a cardigan which only needs half the body doing -sleeves are done.
Its lovely Eden Cottage Yarn BFL and will look lovely with denim skirt and boots .
Off out for a long autumnal walk and lunch
out as DD is leaving today .
Have a nice Sunday Frugaleers .

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 21/10/2018 11:22

Morning all!
Have had a productive morning so far, 2 loads of washing done and last one on now.
Admin been sorted and will move our bedroom round in a bit.
Have a good Sunday everyone

WreckTangled · 21/10/2018 11:42

Broccoli soup for lunch. Never made it before so hopefully it's a success...!

mammynowanauntyIRL · 21/10/2018 11:49

Em our washing machine has all those functions but spin dryer still a massive improvement, currently spinning clothes that got wet overnight on washing line in machine but will put in spin dryer afterwards

Wreck have you honey or any sugar substitute?

Autumn my spin dryer is up on a ledge to avoid that bending over

My dishwasher is on a hot empty wash after washing all its accoutrements
Think I may also do the same with washing machine

Was thinking of making soup too wreck not sure what variety though

Mirrors are polished here, about to change window catch, then sort out wood pellet silo & spin washes & then soup making & relax for a little while. Have open fire on as dd is sneezy & they're decorating for Halloween.

AutumnLeaves12 · 21/10/2018 12:04

mammy do you need to two loads in the spin dryer for one in the washing machine? I see the spin dryers take 4kg, and my washing machine takes 7kg.

WreckTangled · 21/10/2018 12:12

Yes mammy I have honey and various sugars

ChristmasSeacow · 21/10/2018 12:31

Hold your horses Quite, I was waiting for morning for natural light! Grin This is what I bought, I’m not sure I’ve captured the green quite right on my phone but it’s a lovely warm but not yellowy green (I can’t wear yellow). I’m knitting a scarf thing with it. This pattern. So the main body will be the green with the lighter /coloured bits in the short row sections

www.loveknitting.com/ysabel-knitting-pattern-by-brandy-velten

I hope the variegated yarn shows up okay against the solid green. I might finish it by spring, when I will then be in the mood to wear it!

I am still knitting my cotton jumper with the drops yarn but fear that by the time I finish it it will be too big for me! This is more a reflection on the speed of my knitting than the speed of my weight loss Grin

Warm I think if you can do without yoga classes and can still get the benefit from doing it at home you’ll make a great saving. I went from having a Cleaner to not for a year or so while on mat leave and it was fine. I didn’t have the whole house clean at the same time but I did just about manage to keep on top of it. I missed the ‘everything clean at once’ but did not miss the weekly ‘panic tidy for the cleaner’. So there was an upside!

Taking DH out for a brownie this afternoon as we’re meeting a friend and her ASD boy - both boys love a cafe and cake! I’m back on the diet plan after yesterday’s massive blow out (was the Landmark Hotel in Marylebone, for whoever was asking. Fantastic atrium setting as well as lush food!). So Just tea for me then Grin. Other than that, cooking roast chicken and roast root veggies for dinner (chicken risotto leftovers later this week), making soup for lunches and doing laundry. Not sure when I’ll get work done as DH wants to go twitching today - some rare bird has been spotted locally - and it seems only fair after my fun yesterday.

It’s sunny and gorgeous here again!

ememem84 · 21/10/2018 12:33

THings I should have done today.

I should have bought the priced bananas in a bag at the shop which would have saved ds crying hysterically when I took them from him to give to the lady at the till.

Mopped the kitchen floor after giving him tuna mayo sandwiches.

Cagliostro · 21/10/2018 12:44

Ooo what bird seacow 😍

I think I might go to town with DS actually rather than just Asda - I found the receipt for my charging cable, which was from the istore but a third party so it says 30 days for refund. I bought it October 3rd and look at it! 😡 At least the previous one it was my fault it broke (I stepped on the USB end 😳) but I’ve been careful and this is ridiculous. I also might see if there’s a cheap DVD that DS and I can snuggle up to later while DD is out. Mum was supposed to stay over today but is a bit nervous about catching the bug.

Danny is a favourite anyway. We started showing the kids some of the tamer Red Dwarf episodes and they love it. DD just did Rimmer’s salute :o

I’m winning some more dungarees on eBay. I got lucky the other day and got a Boden bundle, dungarees and two pairs of corduroy trousers for less than £8 delivered 😱

Cagliostro · 21/10/2018 13:18

Balls just realised I still need the packaging for refund even though it’s faulty. Bugger. Will keep it next time 🙄
