Baby blankets wash in Woolite. If they are acrylic it will do them no harm. Usually if someone has knitted in pure wool that needs careful washing they let the giftee know! But 90% of knitters use acrylic yarns.

Fluffycloudland77 · 29/05/2018 12:37

I use Tesco basics shampoo for delicates. Fairy faded all my old bed sheets really badly. I didn’t have a line back then so I think it must have some sort of bleach in it.

I’m still using laundry gloop for all other washes, bars of hand soap for grimy collars & a mix of washing up liquid and water for general food stains on dhs stuff. I spray it on cos it’s faster.

£1.70 on dressings.

ememem84 · 29/05/2018 12:57

£3 sandwich.

Paid in ds’ money. That kid has more than me now.

ChristmasSeacow · 29/05/2018 13:01

Ah, love that you’re nesting Meadow. It’s so lovely getting ready for a baby! As the others have said, any non-bio liquid will be fine for all the baby stuff, unless it’s 100% wool. And only mad people or DH’s posh boss give 100% wool things to a baby Hmm.

Cleaner is here. I feel very extravagant but it’s such a relief not to worry about it! Especially with PILs coming at the weekend Wink

Taytocrisps · 29/05/2018 13:53

Another fab day today. I have visitors coming this weekend (it's the June Bank Holiday weekend here) so I've been cleaning and making up beds. I spent €9.39 on a top up shop - mostly cleaning things. After the Tesco man came yesterday I realized I needed some cleaning stuff e.g. Cif for cleaning the bathroom and ironing water for the iron.

It's too hot for cleaning really but it has to be done. It's lovely hanging clothes out on the clothes line and everything is drying super fast the things that escaped the bird poo. Having a quick cuppa now and a 10 minute rest.

Wrongwayup · 29/05/2018 15:01

Frugal since last post - was away for weekend but Partner paid for it. Did buy dog food yesterday and pay farrier bill. only other spends are petrol, but for work milage so can reclaim. will also be away this weekend - accommodation already paid for - will be my turn to buy dinner. Em you are playing a blinder.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 29/05/2018 16:44

We're still having a lovely time in Dorset, spending money left, right and centre but am trying not to worry too much about it! !

We took alpacas for a walk today 😂 I got the nervy one who kept trying to do a runner 😯🐫😄

One more night and then home tomos.

Wolfcub · 29/05/2018 16:48

£5.80 for breakfast/lunch/dinner in pret. I thought I had snacks in my bag but I only had an apple so I’ve gone a bit too long without substantial food and boy can I feel it.
Meadow I have eczema and use biological liquid. Have done for donkeys. I use woollite for pure wool/cashmere. Everything else gets washed in Ariel
Usually if I make something for someone I include the washing label from the wool or write out the washing instructions on a nice label and include it with tha gift

wolfcub you wash your donkeys in biological liquid? Isnt that a bit cruel? Grin

lifelongfrugaleer · 29/05/2018 17:35

How do you get a donkey in the machine >>>>eyes washer≤

lifelongfrugaleer · 29/05/2018 17:35

Or are they ✋ hand wash only

Laska5772 · 29/05/2018 17:37

It would be an 'Eee-Aw' -full struggle dont you think life? . (hee hee)

Wolfcub · 29/05/2018 17:52

[Grin. I see I forgot the apostrophe. 🐴

Been on hold with payroll for the best part of an hour. They have screwed up my pay which is very frustrating and puts lots of things at risk when I’m already £2k down a month on household income.

Ok, so I have been on full panic mode...went to my handbag and my purse was not there. Searched high and low (it lives in my handbag, or under the car key hooks, I do not deviate), everywhere, checked the car, panicked again, and had to go out without it.

So spends limited to the cash I had, £12 postage, £13 asda and £2 in the co-op. As that was the last place I definatley used it, they even checked the safe for me in case it had been handed in.

Found in the car under the side of the passenger seat. Guess it had slid off. I was in a tremendous huff on Sunday, so might have been driving badly when I went out for milk Blush. The thought of cancelling my cards, getting a new driving license etc, makes me want to puke.

Sausages with veg and yorkies for tea. Showing dd3 how it's done, she needed to get away from dd2, and it's only tuesday...

Wolfcub · 29/05/2018 18:06

Oh lord Lonely that’s my nightmare. Glad you found it. I once got into a panic because I couldn’t find my car keys in my bag or pockets. Took me a good ten minutes to realise they were in the ignition because I was driving the sodding car at the time

I dug my dm's clarinet out of the cupboard and managed to play a scale. Yay! This musical fun is excellent for frugal entertainment. It seems to have a very large number of tiny levers on it.

Laska5772 · 29/05/2018 18:16

Poor Lonely that's a horrible feeling... so glad you found it .

SunnyLikeThursday · 29/05/2018 18:23

Yeah that's not fun. Last time I lost my bag I had this awful realisation that it contained all my house keys, my car keys, and my driving licence with my house address on it. That's just not a good combination at all. Glad you found it lonely.

littleHen84 · 29/05/2018 18:56

Lonely your knitted Mermaids and Octopus are great! My little boy would love an Octopus,do you sell on Etsy?

QuiteCleanBandit · 29/05/2018 19:01

Wolf your donkeys would be just as clean with baby shampooGrin -all the knitters I know use it in preference to Woolite .
Frugal saving as well as its about half the price and you only need a drop not a capful.
I use alpaca, cashmere, yak and it comes out beautifully .
Gosh Lonely thats stressful ,glad you found it.

lifelongfrugaleer · 29/05/2018 19:14

mammynowanauntyIRL · 29/05/2018 19:57

Hi everyone I've been a lurker, will catch up with spends tomorrow, they're reasonable.
Just got stuff going on, our separation news is filtering out gradually and I'm getting lots of support Grin how did so many people know there was problems and not ask me how I was all this time back?

lifelongfrugaleer · 29/05/2018 20:31

Probably embarrassed mammy, or worried they read it wrong.

Wolfcub · 29/05/2018 20:48

Mammy I think Life is right and I think you see it all the time on MN where people are given advice not to interfere or let a spouse known their partner is behaving badly.
I hope you are ok, I’m glad you are getting some real life support and we are all here for you
