Hi everyone,

I totally understand about the magnolia, we put a lot of time and effort (not to mention money) into our gardens, I always feel personally insulted when something doesn't grow very well. Hope the tree surgeons can work their magic. We have a rather large tree shaped issues too but not sure it can be fixed. £34 yesterday for petrol and £7 in Aldi (but used saved up change) - fuel is so expensive at the moment!

NSD today, we haven't got much to have with dinner though. Usually a salad - it's a chicken thigh dish - does anyone have any recommendations? I was thinking about bunging on some rice for ease.

On the the plus side I have sold a couple of bits so decluttered and made back about £23 this week.

Wolfcub · 18/05/2018 13:59

Sea, it’s my dining table (also where I work so it’s dryness was annoying me). No prep needed. It’s drying now will pop a pic on when it’s a bit less sticky!

Chicken and rice always goes well together.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 18/05/2018 14:38

Love the names! My daughter has a popular and traditional flower name, I love it and it's perfect for her.

em have you got a link for the reusable sanitary pads? I'm going to give them a go!!

Dd got back about 10.30pm in the end last night, she had had a great time and was completely exhausted! They saw School of Rock Ystd which she said was amazing.

Spends today £30 petrol, £17 school jumper for dd and £61 in aldi.

The aldi shop should do two weeks and I got a few extra bits as have friends over tomos to watch the royal wedding!!

Bornlazy · 18/05/2018 14:47

Love I have a 20% off for M&S if you still need it give me a shout.

ChristmasSeacow · 18/05/2018 15:13

Yes, rice. Nice.

Bandit that list is making me want veggies! I’ve just had a lovely Greek salad for lunch though as I’d overbought cucumbers last week (DS eats a lot of them usually).

I really need to make some more varied food for dd next week, this week has been a poor effort. Also need very easy meals for us as I can’t stand up for too long. I’m doing the Ocado shop now if anyone has ideas!

2018 we spent a lot of money on having our garden hard landscaped around the lovely big magnolia so am keeping everything crossed it can be saved! It’s so beautiful too...

Fluffycloudland77 · 18/05/2018 15:25

NSD & I got another Jl voucher off valued opinions.

I could not be more excited about the royal wedding. I hate weddings usually. Dh knows I will be glued to the tv tomorrow.

girlie these.

Working on working out how to sell a yacht today. Just a cool £7million....to be paid over to my client. Woop.

I was half joking with the captain earlier today that he’ll have to bring the boat here to complete the sale. But it’s guernsey registered. So he may actually have to get it up to Guernsey. So I might pop over and collect the paperwork myself! And see the boat. Three years I’ve worked with this and never seen it. It’s a beaut.

Yes please bornlazy

I may have had a massive unreasonable grump at DP. Rubbish day at work, apparently boss wants to make a point at other colleague by finding shed loads of stuff for me to do on Fridays. DD2 refused to get in her car seat when picking her up. Which made us very tight on time to be home for Ocado and then getting DD1 ready for rainbows. Package then got delivered to neighbours. I knew it wasn’t for me but ebay tat for DP so was a bit shitty with him once I went round to collect it. I need to try and by nice when he gets back from dropping off DD1 Blush

Will catch up when I am in a better mood Blush

SnugglySnerd · 18/05/2018 16:51

I have a lot to catch up on! It's been a very busy week and I am wiped out. Early night tonight I think. Will catch up later.

LonelyOversharer · 18/05/2018 16:58

love they just sense when you are in a hurry and throw a seat related wobbly. Dd1 was a rigid plank, she was impossible to bend into the seat. Ds goes all limp so he slithers to the floor (he still does this).

So, £78 in mountain warehouse, 2x polo shirts, 2x shorts for dp (birthday pressie) and 2 new t shirts for me. Then £6 in costa on big coffees. £38 in asda, ingredients for birthday tea and a few other bits.

Dd3 was brought out of school in a lot of pain, took her to see the gp, duty doctor, just a 20 min wait, which is brilliant. She has a "loaded colon" !!! Full of you know what. We have lactolose. We are expecting a lot of product, very soon!

Bornlazy · 18/05/2018 16:58

Love I have PM'd you.

QuiteCleanBandit · 18/05/2018 17:00

TheHodge
I love it because it has nobbly and mishapencheap stuff thats always fine .
Probably stuff supermarkets wouldnt touch, hence it being cheaper.
We have a market nearby twice a week but it can be a bit hit/miss.
Went out to knit and had a nap 😶
2 types of veggie burger made and in the freezer.
The Jack Monroe ones are ok bland
The sweet potato and black bean gorgeous.
I will use up but probably wont make the JM again.
Just caught the tail end of a madefortvmovie starring ...Meghan Markle 😂😂😂

Wolfcub · 18/05/2018 17:15

Free rhubarb. Frugal win. Stewing now with some old eating apples will make a crumble either tomorrow or Sunday

ememem84 · 18/05/2018 18:17

Frugal win. Dh is out tonight. So I’m having dinner with dparents. Steak chips salad. Mmm

MeadowHay · 18/05/2018 18:24

The greengrocer by my mam's is lovely but generally a lot more expensive than the local supermarkets. It's an elderly fella's family business and none of his kids will take it on so when he gets too frail/sick/whatever to run it I imagine it will close which is a shame Sad. I live city centre area so there isn't one anywhere near me unfortunately. I'd love to start getting a veg box when we move house to an actual house and I'll be on mat leave so can be in to recieve it etc, but not sure if we will be able to afford it as I imagine it works out more expensive than just buying stuff at supermarket? And we will be on a very tight budget as I'm only getting SMP and DH doesn't have a proper income, he only gets like a £5k bursary each academic year. Eek.

So glad it is the weekend now...

I hope your tree is ok Sea. And echoing others about don't worry about meals at the moment!

WreckTangled · 18/05/2018 18:50

Lonely it was the most bizarre thing. I needed to park in the shade as I had food in my boot and the space was tight as she'd parked so badly. I asked so nicely and she just went mad. I told her I felt sorry for her as it must be horrible living her life being so angry all the time. Then I told her she was actually crazy Grin she really was. I think she knew she was in the wrong and struggled to park her giant Land Rover

TheHodgeoftheHedge · 18/05/2018 19:31

That's even nicer Bandit

I've had a complete NSD fail after 2 good days - takeaway curry for us tonight and a bottle of wine to share. I think we've earnt it this week though.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 18/05/2018 22:23

seacow I completely understand why you're upset about the tree, I get upset when one of my small plants die! Hope it's fixable.

Spent another £54 tonight on adding another night to our Dorset holiday, we will go next sunday and come back late on the Wed, really looking forward to it.

How did your ds get on sunny? Having the whole school day free will be liberating for you!!
