Hope everyone is having a lovely Easter. Hope the weather cheers up for all of you who have gone away.

Welcome back to our recent returners.

Quiet day yesterday, but with a bit of frantic cleaning in the afternoon. PIL are popping round this morning, which means I like to pretend we are actually good at housework Easter Grin

LSD yesterday. Just some coffee for PIL today, I must’ve chucked the out of date coffee after they last visited as neither of us drink coffee.

Hopefully visiting BIL and family and 1.5 week old baby niece later too.

I need to get a grip on what went on our credit card in March. It was meant to be less money on it due to no longer paying train fare but it is higher than ever. We will pay it off in full though.

mammymammyIRL · 02/04/2018 08:18

My friend suggested meeting up today, maybe for lunch, I've got a voucher which I received as a work gift, had planned to use it for family, will use it for me & dc and her I think.

lifelongfrugaleer · 02/04/2018 08:19

Morning. No snow here which is vexing as that's the reason we came home. Any up your way lonely?

Sainsbury today which will be expensive as need a root through the clothes uniform x2 and work trousers for me. Oh and food
I got a loan of ,JO 5 things food book so going to try a few of those

lifelongfrugaleer · 02/04/2018 08:19

Pressed send too soon.
Dh will take DC swimming which is free as we have a voucher from last time when someone was ill in the pool

mammymammyIRL · 02/04/2018 08:27

Ds just broke kindle fire charger, waiting to see if android charging lead will work.

My dc want to go swimming while I'm off, I may have to bite the bullet tomo, enjoy the peace while they're gone lifelong

WreckTangled · 02/04/2018 08:34

Mammy we always use different chargers for different things. DV's Samsung phone, the DC's kindles and my blood glucose monitor all have the same USB port so I just use whichever is already plugged in.

Meant to rain all day here today. Need to go to town to collect my new toaster but I could save the fuel and wait until Wednesday when I'm going to that town anyway. Hmm decisions decisions.

mammymammyIRL · 02/04/2018 08:49

The first android cable didn't work but second one did, & it's got a metre long lead so should work out better.

I'd wait just to avoid going out in the rain ☔️

Yesterday was a NSD

MrsOH2004 · 02/04/2018 09:36

Happy easter everyone, yesterday I spent £20 in Co op, as I stupidly forgot everywhere was closed Grin

Today I'm going Asda but I have a list and I will be sticking to it Hmm

Cagliostro · 02/04/2018 09:39

No bad weather here either, but quietly glad we came home yesterday anyway so we can get on with stuff. Friend coming over this afternoon for board games.

Going to try and get on with stuff this morning before DH goes to work. My plan for the easter holidays is to really attack the house, the Caglets are having an easter holidays of some description (for any newbies, they are home educated) so no paper/book based work, but we are going to start using more of the computer/app based learning stuff as they find that fun, I had a lot of bargain subs but we haven’t really used them much. They also have to help lots with sorting all their stuff and helping to pack and tidy, if they get it all done then we are buying minecraft on the laptop for them. :o

LonelyOversharer · 02/04/2018 09:48

Our Easter was a bit naff! After getting back from dparents, dd2 and 3 had a huge fight, dd1 had some sort of teenage meltdown and ds has a sore throat. Was quite glad to go to bed!

Yes life snowing hard here. Ffs.

Not even out of bed yet, but coffee is calling.

QuiteCleanBandit · 02/04/2018 10:10

lifelongfrugaleer · 02/04/2018 10:22

Sorry to hear that lonely and about the snow. Pleased we came home from keilder early now.

SnugglySnerd · 02/04/2018 10:44

Morning all! Pissing down with rain here. DH is making French toast for brunch then we are going to Sainsbury's to look at 25% clothes. DD needs a lightweight coat for when spring arrives and I want to see if they still have the work skirt I was looking at a couple of weeks ago. The dts just like riding in the trolley!

mammymammyIRL · 02/04/2018 11:06

Lonely I hope today is a better day Smile

ememem84 · 02/04/2018 11:20

DH has been to coop £45 on stuff to make about 4 weeks worth of meals (or so he says). And £12 dunelm on lightbulbs. They’re in same building as coop.

CremeEggThief · 02/04/2018 11:27

Lonely, any chance of staying in bed and leaving them all to it?Brew I've been up since 10.55, which is the earliest since I was ill last week!

No snow here yet, but it is lashing rain and looks like it will be all day. Still, if it means no snow, I'll take that.

Hope you feel better soon, North.Brew

MrsOH2004 · 02/04/2018 11:29

£46 in Asda no more spends today.
Have sorted some things to go in the skip at Dh's Mum's house as it's going tomorrow, Dh says he's ready to go back work tomorrow for a rest Grin

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 02/04/2018 12:09

em that's v cheap for 4 weeks worth of meals! Is that just dinners or all meals?

It's chucking it down here, going to mil later... she's making a roast 😋 however always buys a pudding then asks why I can't eat it pestering me to just have a little bit... dairy intolerance and cream filled chocolate thing probably not a great idea. I've been dairy free the whole 11 years me and dp have been together 😣

Reduced all my stuff on schpock yesterday and sold 6 toys and 14 items of clothes! Going to post office tomorrow and the rest being collected this week 😁

Laska5772 · 02/04/2018 12:09

Bandit is that Below the Surface?.. its getting exciting!! Shock

Not planning any spends today .. we have lots in still..

QuiteCleanBandit · 02/04/2018 12:15

It is LaskaGrin
Also just finished Modus and watching Spiral right from the start on Prime .
DH is cross I started watching without him Grin
Quick question about Nectar points-have done a survey and shopped at Boden via the Nectar app.
Still waiting for points...

SunnyLikeThursday · 02/04/2018 12:21

It's very wet there and there are big puddles round dparents' house. Hoping that doesn't turn into flood trouble if there is more rain. I've just been polyfilla-ing holes in a wall.

Fluffycloudland77 · 02/04/2018 12:27

They can take 28 days Bandit.

£24 two outside up/down lights. £2.71 cashback. Bloody instagram. I’m meant to be saving to laminate the stairs and landing.

Hoping the poundshop do led GU10 bulbs 🙏

ememem84 · 02/04/2018 12:58

nobuts from the looks of it it’s just main meals.

He bought loads. Mostly reduced stuff.

So far we have:
Cottage pie (reduced steak chunks £1.03 per pack, bulked out with lentils and chunky veg and will be topped with swede and potato mash)
Veggie chilli (tinned beans, lentils etc)
Chicken curry (masaman I think - reduced chicken thighs,)
He also bought a ton of reduced veg which has been washed and chopped and frozen, and reduced bananas (which have been smushed and frozen into ice cube trays for ds, reduced cheese has been grated and frozen and he’s made sandwiches for the week (reduced ham bread and cheese) and frozen in clingfilm.

Sometimes he’s organised...

This is also why I try and avoid the food shop. He enjoys it, and is also very good at meal planning and food shopping. And cooking. He can magic food out of nothing.

April is the month of getting the budgeting back on track.

I need to set up another regular saver account with my bank but annoyingly I can only do this in branch now. Bloody Hsbc. Last year I could do it online. It’s absolutely worth it though £250 pcm paid in each month for 12 months at 5% interest. This forms part of my pension payment.

ememem84 · 02/04/2018 12:58

Kitchen is a mess now though. Dh has used wok frying pan slow cooker instant pot and every saucepan. And dish. Ffs.

mammymammyIRL · 02/04/2018 13:13

Good work emdh a turnaround from when he wouldn't buy any groceries not so long ago.

At Christmas I got regifted a smoked salmon at work, I portioned it out into freezer bags then I was unwell and it's not something I can face on a tender stomach. It's been featuring in a few of my meals. Today a little bit of it with a little bit of ham last of feta and some relish made up my toastie for lunch Grin and here was brekkie the other day. I'll also pop a pic of my healthy plate eating out on sat. I now need a tried & tested Dahl recipe please, it was yummy Grin

Frugal fail full pack of ham going out to dogs today, out of date since yesterday and smells off
Need a new seal for fridge door too
