£2.22 in Morrison's.
That's rubbish re dh and work. Had he planned another day off to compensate?

LonelyOversharer · 15/02/2018 18:32

I've kept all the reciepts and will crunch the numbers for feb, but it's going to be hundreds fluffy Blush

Wolfcub · 15/02/2018 19:18

Clearly not my day. The bastard slow cooker must be broken. The lovely beef stew I put on on high at lunch has just been put on the table, sauce all over the baked pots. When we cut into the pieces of beef it was raw inside. I am highly narked, dinner is now in the bin. Smelled lovely too.

Wolfcub · 15/02/2018 19:18

Has anyone got any slow cooker recommendations

WreckTangled · 15/02/2018 19:25

Oh no wolf poor you. We've just got a Tesco one which is great for us.

SnugglySnerd · 15/02/2018 19:29

Oh no Wolf! How disappointing. We have an Asda one. It's fine but basic.

NSD. I have a lot to catch up on by the look of things.

QuiteCleanBandit · 15/02/2018 19:34

I usually cook meat very slow wolf 10 hrs
Was it hot?
Fluffy have had 2 days out so havent looked at the meters Blush
Think the culprit might be DS computer -he got a "gaming" one after Christmas and Ive only just seen the size/lightsHmm
He is going to contribute to bills.
Heating is on .
Went to Aldi and forgot dishwasher tablets Angry
Hope you have rebooked your massage em
I think that what would upset me- relying on DH to "allow"me child free time and then not getting it .
It would be easier if he was upfront about intending/needing to work .
Very scared about a medical appt Ive got coming up
Anxiety looming

Wolfcub · 15/02/2018 19:40

If did feel hot at the sides Quite and it cooked three lovely meals on the same high setting and same timing last week. So annoyed at the food waste. Ds are a bit of beef and carrot before I caught him and binned his dinner but I don’t think it will harm him

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 15/02/2018 19:45

Hi all, am so tired!! Have been painting all day, the room looks great though lovely colour. Have also made a start on painting the furniture, going to paint the wardrobe, chest of drawers and bookcase so they all match.

Spent £30 in wilkos on furniture paint, bird food and a few other bits.

Think the room will look brilliant once it's all done.

ememem84 · 15/02/2018 19:51

quite yes. Rebooked for Sunday morning. 8am (!). But rebooked.

I’ve found the not having “freedom” or the ability to go out by myself without organising someone to look after ds one of the most difficult things to get my head around. Don’t get me wrong I love the little screecher but sometimes I miss just being able to go out on a whim. I used to be able to go from bed to out the door in 15 minutes if I had to - including a shower. No chance of that now!

If dh has told me on say Monday he might have to work we’d have sorted it. Or I would have been prepared for him going in iyswim.

We need to be more organised really.

WreckTangled · 15/02/2018 19:57

Em that's something that's always annoyed me too. It's much easier now the dc are older, but when they were younger it used to take me all morning to pop to Tesco whereas dh could still just get up and go without having to consider everyone else because he knew I was here looking after them.

ememem84 · 15/02/2018 20:19

“Default parent” wreck

QuiteCleanBandit · 15/02/2018 21:08

Oh yes "default parent" seemed to be quite a thing that my friends complained about -their DH had more of an office working set up rather than DH who at times WAH .
Great idea to go at 8am and be up and out early have a nice quiet coffee as well
I did supermarket shopping on my own in the evening.
Bliss to wander slowly and read a magazine in the car.
"It was heaving"Wink

ememem84 · 15/02/2018 21:20

I’m Shock at 8am on Sunday. But they’re also providing healthy breakfast - green smoothie and tropical fruit plate would rather have a bacon roll

In all honesty, the lack of free time is only temporary. In 3 weeks we’ll be at my parents and I know Dm won’t mind watching ds if I want to pop to the gym of a morning. Or of an evening to do a class before dh gets home. Not every day. Don’t want to take the proverbial.

Fluffycloudland77 · 15/02/2018 21:52

I've got a basic asda one Wolf.

Cagliostro · 15/02/2018 22:56

Spends £8 2 bottles of corsodyl (a must for gargling when a tickly throat starts) as we had run out. Living the high life!

Picked up the mothercare order and mum had Debenhams vouchers from her credit card so insisted I chose something for the baby. I obliged cos I’m nice like that. Yay!

Really need to see that card meadow :o

We are getting very close to the top of the list of houses BTW. Scary. Big decisions coming up.

Cagliostro · 15/02/2018 22:57

Oh also I have started recouping the money I have spent on the World Book Day party (hall hire and a few bits for activities) by selling tickets. So excited and will be very proud to organise it all if it goes well.

northender · 16/02/2018 00:04

Another quick drop in to keep up.
Back to work today Sad, good day though.
Only spends today were circuits for dd (£3), veg for with tea £2.50 so pretty good
Delicious HM soup for lunch, dd made us all chicken kievs for tea (from scratch) it was lovely.

Fluffycloudland77 · 16/02/2018 06:45

Cag Homebargains do a generic version of that. £2 a bottle. It's the same one as the NHS prescribed for Dh when he had his wisdom tooth out.

Well I'm off to sainsbos, cats used his tray & kicked litter everywhere. Poor little sods had to sleep in a pooh scented room all night.

ememem84 · 16/02/2018 07:33

Morning all.

I’ve been awake since 5. No reason other than not sleeping. I contemplated going to the gym at 6. Only contemplated it. Stayed in bed and thought about treadmills and weights and cross trainers.

Catface tried to encourage me to get up by stepping on my face. Lovely.

Am currently watching ds in the monitor. He loves his sleeping bags. He’s currently in his cot lifting His legs up and quietly screeching and then thumping them down. Rather like a whale does with its tale.

We are not enjoying the new screeching noise.

Laska5772 · 16/02/2018 08:22

Gah lost a post !

Ended up with a migraine yesterday .. First one for a couple of years .. I used to get these most months.. another great thing about being post menopausal! Grin..but its put me behind with a work deadline and we have DGS coming this afternoon for the weekend.. Ah well, i can catch up..

Am still feeling a tad 'weird' (post migraine weirdness) this morning.. so strong coffee is required

BTW id also rather have a bacon roll than 'green smoothie and tropical fruit plate' .. ( I mean , what madness is that?) ..

WreckTangled · 16/02/2018 08:27

Mil is coming round this morning and dd has physio this afternoon. Will go into Aldi with my last £10 to top up enough to last until Wednesday. Need some kind of fruit, milk, humous and cheese.

Laska I used to get migraines I always think it takes a day to recover.

Em I often consider going to the gym Grin

ememem84 · 16/02/2018 08:30

laksa it’ll look lovely. Last time I had fruit plate it was all pineapple mango kiwi dragon fruit. It was delish. As was the green smoothie. Which I think was celery apple spinach and pear. Fresh.

But please. Thick plastic white bread, salty butter, crispy smoked bacon, ketchup (on the side for dipping) and hot strong black coffee are what Sundays are all about surely?!

Cagliostro · 16/02/2018 08:35

Oh that’s good fluffy we have a b&m store fairly near is that the same as home bargains? I’ve only been there once.

I would welcome a tropical fruit plate but no green smoothie, I’m happy to eat vegetables but I have no desire to drink them :o

DD ended up in with me at 4am as she couldn’t sleep for coughing

SunnyLikeThursday · 16/02/2018 08:36

I'm in sunny Colchester, and I have been to see the eye specialist dude who is trying to help me find a way to be able to live with LED lights without them nuking my brain.

He's going to make me a pair of Financial Times-coloured sunglasses. :-) I thought that might raise a quiet chuckle from those who remember my early posts. It gave me a laugh.

I hope you are all getting on there. I'm again totally behind from being dashing from pillar to post. The house is nice though, and it's lovely to live in a house where I don't have to be responsible for the gutters and the drains and the interior decor and all that. Nice to have a holiday.
