I've done an epic, 5 supermarket, 2 week shop. I actually checked all the branded stuff I wanted (the cat food, alpro coconut milk, stork etc) on mysupermarket and got them where they were cheapest!

I'll number crunch in a bit, but have 3300 nectar points! Got an app store card for ds (swapping with his amazon one from christmas) and twice the catfood. Pic of my trolly split into £10 bundles! The checkout lady said she hardly ever gets a splitter, and the lady behind was Confused at me using all the dividing thingys.

And our big sainsburys is not in the good end of town. Huge, and empty. Only ever seen 1/3 of the checkouts open, and about 20 customers. Its like the Marie Celeste in there. I avoid as it's so easy to spend so much, but today I had a list. Carparks always full though...

Cagliostro · 02/02/2018 18:04

Sure you didn't mean pot office laska... you didn't pick up any 'special' brownies did you...

Spends £18 lunch, bumped into family members, bit of a crazy day all told. £4 Iceland

QuiteCleanBandit · 02/02/2018 18:34

Did Sainsburys
£12.50 catfud ( 40 pouches Sheba -share a pouch as a treat ,they have crunchy super healthy bladder stuff mainly) £10 points Grin
Split shop and got 2 Method Laundry £12 ( on offer at £6 usually £9) and got £2.50 points .

They said put them on next time you are inHmm
I know their game-got DH a bar of chocolate at the kiosk and straight on my Nectar card .
Popped into Lidl
Mmm warm crusty rolls, donuts and those blueberry muffins with the blueberry that oozes out .
They had big bags of clipits £1.49 so got 2
DH is "cooking" homemade shepherds pie from the freezer.
He is exhausted and grousingHmm -I have cooked every night for 2 weeksAngry

LonelyOversharer · 02/02/2018 18:35

So, £173.14 in total spent, plus I used £10 coupons in morrisons. £118.59 food, £17.70 non essential food (crisps, sweets, dp's lunch) £24.45 pet food (3 weeks cat food though), £15.22 non food and £8.50 clothes (new pants for dd2).

This little lot had better last! I'm meal planned until the 18th feb, all easy stuff. Tuna mayo baked spuds tonight. Will make some biscuits later on.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 02/02/2018 18:40

Yeah your secrets out now laska nudge nudge wink wink 😂

We had salmon, rice and veg for dinner which was lovely, spaghetti bol tomos and roast dinner Sunday is as far as I've got meal planning.

Had a lovely afternoon out in the garden, have put some summer bulbs in and had a general tidy up. I've got a ton of seeds to start growing in doors which in theory should save me having to buy any plants for the pots this summer.... I really need to not buy any more plants and let what's in the ground grow 😐 will have to try really hard!!!

Fluffycloudland77 · 02/02/2018 18:45

Quite One of my elderly patients used to go out to her wi meeting telling her Dh lunch was in the oven and "be careful not to break your hand on the cooker" Grin

Customer services will add coupons for you if you've just shopped there.

WreckTangled · 02/02/2018 18:48

Quite, they're the best muffins in the world!

Laska Grin

Girlie it was quite nice today at times wasn't it? I'm starting to sense spring, daffs are out in places and I could hear the birds before I opened the curtains this morning. Shame it's going to be really cold next week

QuiteCleanBandit · 02/02/2018 18:49

Thats what I meant by Kiosk =customer services but DH fancied choc so I got him some Grin

QuiteCleanBandit · 02/02/2018 18:51

Leftover chicken risotto here, made from my mn magic roast chicken and hm stock, so really flavourful. Dd enjoyed it earlier too.

Off to the pub in a mo. Am contemplating taking my knitting but not sure the new School Mum friends wouldn’t be a bit Hmm

I didn’t know about this Sainsbury’s thing, I don’t seem to be getting their mailings. Maybe I didn’t update my address when we moved 9 years ago

Fluffycloudland77 · 02/02/2018 20:15

It was on money saving experts newsletter. You can order key fob ones too.

There's an app as well.

Lonely Will you need any top ups or is that it now?.

lifelongfrugaleer · 02/02/2018 20:29

I'm going to swap to the nectar credit card, Tesco is no good for us especially as I know the details by heart.
£9 Iceland, £20 Aldi. I was that person in sainsbury. The lovely checkout lady just stopped at every £10 and I paid. Proper cats bun face on the woman behind me. 4.30 on a Friday too. I got: 600 boost in the post then ; 500 x2, 1000, 200x5 will put them on next time I'm in. Customer services sometimes refuse, depends who is on

Fluffycloudland77 · 02/02/2018 20:32

Stuff her. She could have gone to a different till. You had just as much right to be there as her.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 02/02/2018 20:41

That's what we had laska 😊 I put a splodge of pesto on top of the salmon fillet and grate cheese on for good measure, sometimes add bread crumbs as well. Yes hope em is okay, she is probably just knackered from all the house stuff

Just had a lovely bath, not frugal but sooooooo good! !!

LonelyOversharer · 02/02/2018 20:57

fluffy hoping it will just be milk (about 5 pints a day used here) and some bread. Planned for 17 meals for 6 of us, and bought bread flour to make rolls with at half term for lunches. Got 12 days of wet dog food (they won't eat the dry stuff without something tasty on it). So if I can go 12 days without a supermarket visit I will be very pleased.

I don't really want to leave my house again! After being out 8-4pm for flipping years (for no wages, it would have been different if I had been working for someone, and you know, been paid), it's lovely not to have to go out.

I work in the evenings at home, hoping to get this done during the day now, so I could maybe sleep a bit more. I will be looking for work soon, proper paid work.

Wolfcub · 02/02/2018 20:58

Mmmm a bath. That sounds nice girlfriend. We don’t have a bath anymore, very occasionally I miss it. Unfrugal takeaway for me and dh after he got back from London, he’s off again Sunday for a week so I will be able to eat frugally and make up for it.

mammymammyIRL · 02/02/2018 21:03

We had toad in the hole, well i had, dh still not home, dc had pancakes & ds had a boiled potato as well Hmm

Got two new tyres & tracking done on au pairs car, €100 for tyres tracking free in return for a favour Grin

Dc wanted to wash clothes just to use spin dryer Grin wash basket was empty Grin

Ds has a birthday party on Sunday, will need to buy a present tomorrow

SuperValu with €17.50 off & free delivery €138.19 delivery tomorrow morning

€1.24 on rolls at local centra shop, we filled them at home.

QuiteCleanBandit · 02/02/2018 21:11

I have a bath every night as does DS still at home.
He is a right old man about it Grin
I shower at the gym every morning so hopefully not too unfrugal.
I have it piping hot and there is nothing worse than a warm bath -it has to be scalding.
I did try turning the thermostat downFluffy but it wasnt hot enough to kill my pain.
Surprisingly I have very good skin!

lifelongfrugaleer · 02/02/2018 21:26

Ah I don't care fluffy. I gave her a cheery smile when I left and complimented my checkout lady.

ememem84 · 02/02/2018 22:08

Hello.

We looked at the house. Dh liked it initially. And offered on it. Blah blah blah in a few years extension blah blah new kitchen etc.

Then we realised no central heating. No heating at all. So we’d have to sort this first off.

We are not going for the house. phew

I’ve had an cry at Dm about how stressed I’m feeling. And had a cry at dh (over the phone). We’ve been out for gin. And dinner. Dm and df babysat ds and catface. Catface has had 2 dinners. Ds laughs unprompted now too. He is still up (sigh) but because Dm and df were playing with him not because he’s upset or anything. He’s just kicked my dad and chuckled.

WreckTangled · 02/02/2018 22:16

Ah em it must be so stressful! No heating would be a nightmare.

Fluffy the nowtv thing worked with the entertainment package for me too but didn't work for my sister.

Dh and I have been watching 13 reasons why on Netflix. I'm quite into it.

Moanranger · 02/02/2018 22:24

Egads, how does a house, from all appearances not that old, NOT have heating!
Good luck with your search - realistically, you will have to rent for awhile til the right place comes up - but it will.
A spending day £36 at Trading Post, where they had 8 different variants of dishwasher tabs, ( 30 for £2.99, 68 for 5.99, 56 for 5.49) Higher maths to work out the best deal, so I went for 68, which is 8p each. I met with a personal trainer to set up a fitness programme , programme ok, he not very good. This was supposed to cost £18, but he didn’t press for the money, and I didn’t offer. He was a gym employee, so it made no difference to him, I guess.
Tomorrow I cannot avoid Sainsbury’s due to needing tortillas & some other somewhat specialised stuff. Must go on MSE and find the deals, if they still exist.
