Fridge it's very rare for there to be an offer on Lego Sad

mammymammyIRL · 25/01/2018 11:25

Sunny rest hot water bottle paracetamol & lots of water, I've also thrown in some chocolate for medicinal purposes & am dreaming about an Easter egg BlushShock

Wolfcub · 25/01/2018 11:42

Switched gas and electric to a cheaper annual deal with the same provider. I would switch provider but we don’t have the spare cash at the moment to pay off the extra winter usage first. Will look again in the summer. Monthly payments have gone up but that’s to cover the winter deficit and in switching they’ve only gone up £8 a month. Would have been more without a switch

SunnyLikeThursday · 25/01/2018 12:09

Mammy I like your style. :-) Currently working for me is duvet, hot water bottle, open french windows for a draft to control temperature and a bit of bright sunshine, also computer to keep me busy while my immune system does the rest. Hope you feel better soon. Smile

btw what happened to CremeEggThief? I haven't seen her for a while.

SnugglySnerd · 25/01/2018 12:15

Ours is still more than that a month fluffy. Our next house will not have a meter! To be fair I loved it until the dcs were born but now we're worse off with it.

SunnyLikeThursday · 25/01/2018 12:25

Does it make a bit difference having a meter? My folks new house has one. I worry a bit that it might lead to bath rationing.

mammymammyIRL · 25/01/2018 12:35

Sunny cremeeggthief has a lot going at atm so has taken herself away from thread for a while, think need pm'd her a while back

SunnyLikeThursday · 25/01/2018 12:42

Oh righty. That's good to know that she's out there still and that I haven't missed a name change and been talking to her all along without knowing it

Laska5772 · 25/01/2018 12:47

New lounge curtains I love them.. Smile

It's funny because I am loads better off on a water meter, at my old flat water was something ridiculous like £54 a month 😣 now I'm on a meter it's down to £33 a month. We are careful with water but still have baths occasionally and the washing machine is on every day.

I'm on my break at work, about to break my spate of Nsd and buy a subway!!!

Wolfcub · 25/01/2018 13:02

It feels like a long way until pay day (next weds) ds and I are having mousakka from the freezer for tea. Dh is away with work. I e just had the leftover odds and sods from ds’s pack lunch making for my lunch. The fridge is bare!
Need to meal plan and book a shopping delivery for pay day.

SnugglySnerd · 25/01/2018 13:20

Sunny when we were just 2 adults in the house the water meter was well worth it. Just normal usage we never rationed baths etc although we did get a water butt for the garden. Bills were cheaper than without a meter.
Now there are 5 of us with all the baths, laundry and washing up the bill has gone up and up. Until now!

SunnyLikeThursday · 25/01/2018 13:26

Yes I see what you mean Snuggly. Useful to know, thanks.

It's kind of a worry for large families that. I mean, it's not helping anyone if people with lost of small children can't afford to wash them and their nappies is it? Hum.

Fluffycloudland77 · 25/01/2018 13:29

BT are charging me £55 equipment hire for cancelling after saying I could cancel penalty free after the 23rd 😡. Lovely Vodafone are crediting my account with £50 so my first two bills will be "free" but I'll have to pay BT a big leaving bill. CEO's have been emailed. Screenshots of live chat have been attached.

I knew I was making a mistake going back to them. They've offered me unlimited infinity for £27 with free connection Hmm Dh still wants to leave so we will.

NSD.

I've given up following name changes.

Wolfcub · 25/01/2018 13:34

Fluffy they did the same to my dad last week. He rang and asked what date they were now suggesting was few free change day (i imagine he was a bit difficult) and they gave a new date, refunded the charge and the new company were perfectly ok moving the changeover on a few days

SnugglySnerd · 25/01/2018 13:55

I know Sunny it's grated on me this year that we've spent a fortune on the water bill because we've had some much laundry. It has meant we've had less left over at the end of the month but for some families it could mean rationing baths etc.
I'm careful to only put the dishwasher/washing machine on with full loads and dh and I have very quick showers.

SunnyLikeThursday · 25/01/2018 14:36

I'm sorry to hear that you're having to manage water use on top of everything else Snuggly. What a faff. Hopefully it will ease up a bit as your children get older. My ds is nearly 8 now and things are getting easier. It does take a long time though. Zzzzzz

Fluffy I try not to memorise name changes too much either. I figure the whole point is to maintain anonymity, so unless the person goes out of their way to make the transition clear, I figure it's a kindness to let them become a new person. also I can't remember half the time

I just spent money on clothes again. Darn it. Long t-shirts that will mean I don't have a gap between trousers and t-shirt, and consequent wintery draft. Not spending money is very tricky, if you want to not also be cold and/or hungry.

ShoopShoop · 25/01/2018 15:57

Just checking in quickly to say:

Yesterday - NSD
Today - £16 hobby stuff

Hoping for NSD tomorrow too but may cave a get a can of G&T for the train on the way home....we'll see how bad tomorrow's day at work is!

Early night tonight planned and perhaps a bath if I can wrangle DD into bed early enough

SunnyLikeThursday · 25/01/2018 16:02

"hobby stuff" is totally where my money goes. I've been really lucky to get some voluntary work that comes with a bit of equipment money. Phew!

Cagliostro · 25/01/2018 16:12

Just popping on quickly to announce that I just christened my bus pass! Woohoo!

Lasts until just after my PIP runs out in 2021.

Fluffycloudland77 · 25/01/2018 16:20

I did wonder what you were about to say then Cag 😳. How much has it just saved you?

£5 in nectar points paid out from e-rewards.

ShoopShoop · 25/01/2018 16:26

I know Sunny - I'm currently totally obsessed with needle felting.

I do a really geeky accounting type job during the day but am a frustrated creative type really! So need an outlet in the evening to stop myself going totally bonkers

I should stop trying to justify the spending now really shouldn't I?!

ShoopShoop · 25/01/2018 16:27

Sunny - that's great that your voluntary post allows you some equipment money though! I'm nowhere near good enough for anyone to want my creations or for me to pass on my tiny bit of knowledge Wink

SunnyLikeThursday · 25/01/2018 16:29

That makes perfect sense tbh Shoop. You need a creative outlet too.

Mine is photography, but I managed to get a science grant to pay for some of the equipment. They gave me a list of things to do, which keeps me nicely busy and makes me a few friends when I'm not on Mum duty.

SunnyLikeThursday · 25/01/2018 16:30

I just got my trial Riverford box, frustratingly, just as the flu kicks in and I can't eat. Ratso.
