Hi all, finally completed the food shop, £164 but that's on the back of only £60 last week.

Had to buy a couple of presents £15 on a gorgeous t-shirt for DD1's friend (was aiming for £10-£12 but this was perfect) and £6 on a t-shirt for DD2's friend, will put £5 in the card as well.

£1.05 on paracetamol and Ibruprofen, )3 on a card for DD1's birthday, which isn't until March but it's the perfect card.

No parking to pay as with mum so used her blue badge.

Busy today, just caught up!

Quick answers to direct questions:

Catface I don’t know about naps yet, sorry. Apparently daytime sleep is quite different so I think we are tackling it after the nights. Dd can be a right pain to get to sleep during the day too, although if she does go down there’s generally less messing around wanting to be picked up again, unlike nights... she was even better at bedtime tonight, two squawks and asleep in 5 mins, no crying and no being held!

As you say Need, the idea is she learns to fall asleep on her own at bedtime and she will then be able to get herself back to sleep as she surfaces from each sleep cycle (c every 90 mins - currently she wakes and wants feeding and holding again so we get woken at least every 2 sleep cycles, sometimes every one!) I think once she gets better at sleeping she will sleep through and drop some night feeds. Eventually all. It will probably take a bit more work from us and a few weeks but totally possible. That’s the promised land! Then naps... 😬

Need I’ve seen that bedding, very nice. Our existing ones are very similar (though M&S) and have worn brilliantly. I highly recommend seersucker for being lovely cotton but not needing ironing. The JL one I fancy this time is the origami - kind of pleated. Again I think it would be okay without ironing and I fancy a change to mix in between the seersucker sets we have. I need to see what we’ve got left in vouchers after buying the printer.

Knackered tonight - took dd into Waterloo to meet a friend today. Town with kids always exhausts me. Then cooking for most of the evening (different dinners, cake for friend’s party tomorrow).

Apologies that I can’t remember what I’ve read but soooo tired, will flick back tomorrow. Night night!

ChristmasSeacow · 28/01/2018 00:56

Bollocks. She’s awake and it’s my turn Sad

SunnyLikeThursday · 28/01/2018 06:56

Snuggly I'm glad it's not just me that sees it with the dryer. My clothes get lots of holes too.

Sorry about the rat. I had totally forgotten I'm afraid, or I wouldn't bang on about it. For some reason we get one rat in the garden every January. It's odd but we never get more than one. Our council rat man is brilliant and always comes and sorts it out. He's very nice and we always have a nice natter in the garden, and about gardening and nature and things like that. I think that may be why I enjoy my rat so much.

Christmas You're doing such a brilliant job there. I'm sorry she woke up again after your big post. I remember that feeling x a million from our baby years. I hope you got some sleep.

SunnyLikeThursday · 28/01/2018 06:58

I've ordered a subscription to Moneywise magazine using my tesco clubcard vouchers. I'll report back if it's any good.

lifelongfrugaleer · 28/01/2018 07:34

Morning.
Hope she went back to sleep sea. ..

Nsd today. Gym today for spinning. Footy side line for a couple of hours with a pic nic

Dd wants to go swimming so I might have to do that too as dh is on call. FFS

SnugglySnerd · 28/01/2018 07:36

Don't worry Sunny they are interesting. Just vicious little buggers with gross tails Grin

WreckTangled · 28/01/2018 07:46

Morning. Dh was up early with ds so he wants to go back to bed in a minute Hmm mil is coming round later. Should be a nsd.

Fluffycloudland77 · 28/01/2018 08:04

I get the little holes, usually in supermarket/cheaper stuff. I've never got round to buying a dryer.

I like rats, nearly adopted one but then asbo cat started bringing them in dead so I didn't. You can litter tray train a pet rat.

Our new chair has been claimed by WreckCat

First Frugalling month of 2018 almost done , so Forging forward into Feb we go
ShoopShoop · 28/01/2018 08:48

Ahhh love your cat and your chair Wreck!

I'm the only one awake yet which is a bit weird - DD was knackered yesterday so I'm glad she's sleeping in.

NSD (apart from Ocado) yesterday and around £20 expected today. Entrance fees for an afternoon out with DD and then forgot toothpaste from the shopping order so need that too.

Wolfcub · 28/01/2018 09:00

Morning all. It's touchlines for me today too, I was lying in bed hoping for a cancellation but I seem to be unlucky so I've got up and am layering up ready. Will take the contigo so I don't feel tempted by coffee whilst freezing my arse off!

Wolfcub · 28/01/2018 09:01

Buy even

ChristmasSeacow · 28/01/2018 09:12

Grr, DD was up every hour and a half. Finally went to sleep at 5am and then DS took over with a good bout of screeching. I am not on good form today. Tonight we start pushing back the night feeds....

Off to a family birthday party for a little girl. Should be NSD. I have told DH we’re only going if he drives as I don’t feel safe to drive. Will hopefully sleep a bit in the car

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 28/01/2018 09:18

Oh god christmas that sounds like hell!! You poor thing.

I'm slowly waking up, not much planned today but want to get some baking done....

WreckTangled · 28/01/2018 09:24

Oh no seacow sorry you had a bad night.

Thanks shoop Smile

Why are raspberries so expensive. I love them

SunnyLikeThursday · 28/01/2018 10:09

I'm sorry to hear that Christmas. I was right where you are at the same stage and it wasn't fun.

ChristmasSeacow · 28/01/2018 10:09

All berries Wreck And DS loves them. And mango. And nectarines. Thank god for apples Grin

On our way. I’ve cheered up a bit. I’d like to sleep but I have a cake balanced on my lap and need to keep hold of it!

Ocado £85 yesterday, forgot to say. That’s more than a week of meat etc though I will need more fruit and a bit of veg. And probably a lot more chocolate.

I love that chair Wreck

SunnyLikeThursday · 28/01/2018 10:10

Minor frugal victory here. I bought 5 tops in the sales and just took them in to fit with my overlocker. It worked fine and they are now ready to go into circulation. Yay!

Unescorted · 28/01/2018 10:11

Morning. I have finally caught up after being away last weekend in Scotland for DS's bike race. He did really well 40th out of 103 with snow and temperatures down to -12. We got back to find that DD had invited friends around. She had tidied up so well that it was like walking into a new house.

Fluffy home made naan and all other flat bread are really satisfying to make. Our recipe is a bit of this a bit of that recipe type but let me know if you want it.

Catface great news on the house offer. Get on the case of your solicitor to get the draft contract out pronto and get an agreed completion date so both sets of solicitors know what date they are working to (4-6'weeks is not unreasonable). That way you should avoid conveyance drift. This is the part where the EA should earn their fee - it is there job to chase the buyer on your behalf. Give them a call once a week to remind them to chivvy the buyer's solicitor.

Laska you and I are twins seperated at birth. 😁 Public sector, brother at parents, no makeup....

Hope you are all sleeping better, less cold / flu ridden and enjoying your knitting and crocheting projects.

I am going to work out a way to avoid parking fees at the hospital. Between my checks and My dad tripping over and puncturing his lung it is costing a fortune. His X-rays and scans taken to see how many ribs he had broken have shown that his cancer has spread to his spine. It was a matter of time so not the shock it could have been.

ChristmasSeacow · 28/01/2018 10:12

Too tired to write last night but Laska if you are looking for a good yellow to go with grey in your blanket it’s worth looking at a colour called Barley by Cygnet yarns. It’s a particularly nice mustardy yellow. Lots of brands don’t get that colour quite right, imo.

Unescorted · 28/01/2018 10:13

sea sleep training sucks. Hopefully it will soon be a thing of the past.
