Inspired by the thread, my kitchen has had a declutter & a good clean & reorganise today so no spends and a happy me! Pics to follow...

northender · 14/01/2018 17:27

I'd love the kitchen to be a metre wider but we decided against extending out to the side. It looks a similar size to yours laska though at the other end of the kitchen is a big dining table & there is more worktop space too.

lifelongfrugaleer · 14/01/2018 17:33

Who knew veg suet had so many calories. FFS should have read the box. Totally blew today's figures.

Laska5772 · 14/01/2018 17:46

North ours needs redoing really it was like that when we moved in 12 years ago and although the units and worktops look fresh, in reality they are blown in a couple of places .

I like the way yours has curved worktop where our sink is. Though we couldn't do that really .. just past the cooker in ours is a window which is now actually internal as there is a utility room extension, but we cant knock through without a large expense as its the old external wall. The kitchen and utility room really form a U shape.

I'd like a bigger kitchen also especially for more worktop space but it would mean extending and I dont know if we could do that, but we are lucky enough to have a separate dining room which I love..

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 14/01/2018 17:46

Another work day, Nsd at least and actually pretty quiet for a change!!

My mum has offered to buy dd a zoo experience day for her birthday, its costs £££ so very generous, dd will love it though. I need to buy her a few more bits and to book the theatre tickets actually so maybe won't be a nsd after all!

Laska5772 · 14/01/2018 17:50

Yup life its just fat!

I've just had a frugal plate of veg and the remains of last nights fish .. rather than cook a salmon steak also .. Much more veg than fish so pretty low cal Halo must keep off the chocolate this evening now

Chicken poaching in the oven.. that will be for the rest of the week as its just me here ..

needastrongone · 14/01/2018 18:06

Thank you for the congratulations re the half. I am really chuffed with the time. Left it all out on the course so know I couldn't have done more and I'm knackered now, really knackered. Running is something I'm pretty decent at, and you are right fluffy, I'm close to pre injury times, better than I could have hoped.

Love the kitchen pictures, your curved units are fab north, really like those!

The Aldi ground coffee is excellent for the price. One of the Aldi 'bargains' to go for, their cleaning items I find great value too, nuts, fake shampoos etc. If you like cruelty free, they are usually clearly marked. Wine good value too.

Love the woodland pictures wrecked.

needastrongone · 14/01/2018 18:10

Hello faded lovely to have your company. Usual advice applies to check every single direct debit for good value and necessity. See you meal plan, which is massively useful. Cut the coffees or quick amazon clicks etc, if you even do such things, pennies add up to pounds. You could save pound coins or 50p's etc. Shop via cash back sites, etc etc.

needastrongone · 14/01/2018 18:14

And moving to an expensive area is no mean feat at all!

Laska5772 · 14/01/2018 18:29

Hum-de-hum . just ordered something in the Hush sale that came back in my size Blush

Fluffycloudland77 · 14/01/2018 18:41

All Aldi cleaning stuff is now buav approved, toiletries they reckon will happen later this year.

Once you have decent home coffee from Aldi shop coffee is redundant. Costa uses 1/7th robusta, Starbucks over-roasts to make it stronger & do NOT get me started on sainsburys taste the difference beans.

You can make black coffee in advance & chill it for a week. It decreases the time between waking & caffination of the bloodstream. And it's practically a health food now.

Life It's Palm oil too Shock. I use beef suet. The cows dead anyway we might as well use it up.

Today's dinner - taco mince in stand n stuff shells with oven chips

Well done snuggly and wolf I've done laundry instead, will park my dm in kitchen tomo so she can talk & I can declutter. She volunteers in a charity shop so she can take away the 6 glass jars taking up space on my countertop. I do have 4 mini kilners that I found in a box which I plan to use.

Peonies what else would you put away? I dream of putting toaster away Smile will start with spices though Grin I like your kitchen

Quite my dm thinks I should be grateful that it does laundry, she doesn't realise he just washes puts in dryer & dumps on dining room floor Angry

North your kitchen looks fabulous m, absolutely love the curved units

laska my desk in office looks like that too, we don't even use office anymore but I know dd will be using it for homework when she reaches secondary school.

Tomorrow's lunch is two taco shells that dc didn't eat, yummy & frugal too Grin

Laska had you money in your fun money/clothing category ? Hmm enjoy Grin

Interesting about coffee fluffy

Had meal plan attached but I've uploaded too many images today

Something egg based - omelette probably with chips for dh/salad for me and possibly fish fingers for dc
Mince ???
Bacon/cabbage/potatoes
Slow cooker Beef curry & rice
Prawn stir fry with ready to wok noodles
Roast chicken, stuffing, gravy & veg
Toad in the Hole

After a spendy few months - we got married last saturday! We need to cut back on expenses and be more frugal! So hope its ok to join.

Did a proper food shop for first time since xmas £73 in lidl. £6 for taxi home. Written a meal plan for the week including breakfasts and lunch. Im on slimming world and been a bit off plan last couple of weeks so need to stick to it to lose the last 5.5lbs to target.

AuditAngel · 14/01/2018 19:22

Karate £20 (squad training)

Food shopping £154, but hadn't shopped since before Christmas, other than some top up bits.

May have to buy dog food as the one I ordered hasn't yet given a delivery date and we are out. (My fault as I should have ordered but forgot)

Cagliostro · 14/01/2018 19:25

Aww congratulations😍 welcome nocuts and faded

Spends today just £7.47 in coop and some was DS pocket money. Took a walk down there for milk and got cheese crackers ice cream (as I'd promised dessert the other day and forgot my card)

Currently uploading everything on my old laptop to Google photos before it dies altogether! This is going to take HOURS but better than risking losing them. Of course lots are on FB but not everything. Anyway I first managed to get the one bit of info I needed for tax return so that's the main thing done.

Coconuts Congratulations. Was it a good day?.

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 14/01/2018 19:38

Thank you! Yes fluffy was a brilliant day and perfect for us. Only took us 7 years of engagement 🤣 Did it all on a budget except for the rings which were custom made, based on ones from our favourite anime and a photo booth in the evening 😂

AuditAngel · 14/01/2018 19:42

I'm happy if DH's washing is in/on/near the basket on the landing, but I flat refuse to pick his clothes up from the bedroom floor.

Sometimes he misses putting it out, then he will put a load in, but usually only his own. He is perfectly capable of doing it, but bone idle! He washed socks and underwear, but leaves it for me to pair the socks

WreckTangled · 14/01/2018 19:44

Re washing. What really, really pisses me off is dh's socks. He wears two pairs for work (builder) and then doesn't separate them when he takes them off AngryAngry I refuse to do it now and just leave them in the wash basket until he notices

Congratulations nocuts

QuiteCleanBandit · 14/01/2018 19:48
