Found this thread em!
Mmm bacon! I ate one pitta with butter yesterday & a pack of crisps last night, think I could manage real food today if my throat wasn't almost sealed shut Sad
I've been awake since ds got sick at 2am & have been waiting for you guys to get up!
I've also read my first book of 2017! And downloaded 52 changes book too Smile

We need groceries, I'm not fit for shopping so hoping dh will realise this by himself Hmm he was great with dc yesterday when I was in bed all day hoping for the same today Confused

Your cousin sounds like hard work em her dd may not want to be vegan as she gets older could make for interesting times ahead Hmm

northender · 02/01/2017 11:24

Love the Budda, North. DD has lots of 'big fat Budda's' (the name is a hangover from what she called them when she was tiny), they are meant to be lucky! Sounds like you need a few days off. Have fun in Devon.

Hope you feel better soon Mammy.

Guys, I've done the freezer in the garage and completed sorted it out, loads of space now, as it will very messy to be honest. I've so much stock!

Now I'm onto the linen box. Randomly, I have found a Famous Five jigsaw and a pile of Playmobil figures in there. I'll post pictures in a minute from the phone. I'm very happy to post (no cost, I'll post from work) to any takers if you message your address (all confidential obv).

Cath, I saw your post about your DS and jigsaws so you have first dibs on that. Smile

CremeEggThief · 02/01/2017 12:06

Stunning, North.

It sounds like you're on the mend, Mammy. Rest up today.

I need to do a small top-up shop today or tomorrow. I had a Sainsburys order booked for tomorrow, but I realised I have just enough in, so I re-booked it for Saturday night.

So, meal plan is:
Today: veggie burgers, chips and salad (funnily enough, they're Quorn vegan ones. They were sent as a substitute and are actually very tasty!)
Tuesday: macaroni cheese with spinach.
Wednesday: same.
Thursday: Quorn and veg stirfry with noodles.
Friday: if there's any stirfry left, that, or frozen pasta bake. Just for me, as DS is with his dad this weekend.

Lunches: kale and potato soup, which I need to make today, jacket potato tomorrow with cheese and beans, beans on toast.

another NSD today. Have just enough tea to last til tomorrow.
Just deChristmased. Tree outside. Will eventually cut it up for the fire.
Get well soon Mammy.
Em, I love your rant. I'd post back saying " that would be much tastier with bacon/ steak/ lamb chops etc"
I don't eat meat but DP is a butcher and it's fine. We accept each other. ( although he secretly thinks he will convert me...he hasn't given up after 16 years)

ChristmasSeacow · 02/01/2017 12:49

Hello, I'd be interested in the playmobil Need. DS doesn't really do imagination but he does like to reenact scenes from life, books etc. So far we only have playmobil penguins... he doesn't have much RL experience of those!

Back from tea with friends (and standing in park with DS) and I can't get warm. I am completely frozen to the core!

Taytocrisps · 02/01/2017 12:53

€58.90 + €5 delivery charge on a Tesco delivery to arrive tomorrow. I didn't need a full weekly shop but I had to stock up on things like dishwasher tablets and loo rolls and fabric conditioner etc.

Dad is staying for a few days and brought me a bottle of wine and a large jar of coffee. I already had a large jar of coffee so I won't need coffee for a while. A small saving Smile.

Taytocrisps · 02/01/2017 12:55

Forgot to say that I have some Clubcard vouchers but I've resolved to save them up and use them on the big Christmas shop in December.

Needastrongone · 02/01/2017 12:59

I'm so sorry Scarecrow, it's already gone I am afraid. xx

ChristmasSeacow · 02/01/2017 13:03

Fair enough, not to worry!

SnugglySnerd · 02/01/2017 13:35

Just had leftover takeaway curry and naan for lunch followed by cheese, crackers and apple. I'm absolutely stuffed and might have just dozed off for a few minutes.
Have done one bit of productive frugalling. Paid a bill online, while I was at it I paid off the Christmas cc bill, it was only £240 I was quite pleased with that! Then I transferred some odd bits from different accounts into the ISA, about £250 in total but £200 of that was given to us by generous MIL to put towards baby stuff.
Tonight we are going to make a list of what we need to buy and do before the babies arrive.
I'm just psyching myself up to start clearing out the kitchen cupboards so we have some space for bottles etc. DD's craft stuff and play dough has taken over a bit!

SnugglySnerd · 02/01/2017 13:37

Oh yes and I paid an extra £45 off the mortgage. It was a refund for something I complained about and we have agreed that any extra, unexpected money is going on the mortgage this year!
I wondered about coin-sweeping into the mortgage instead of savings account but not sure it would make enough of a difference!

WreckTangled · 02/01/2017 13:39

I'm trying to fill in my job application form but I'm on here instead. I hate doing this sort of thing!

PeoniesforMissAnnersley · 02/01/2017 13:47

Big cook-off today to use up veggies - making home made "ready meals" for week ahead. Have made the apple and cabbage thing already and it's delicious.
Have also cooked mushrooms with herbs etc for mushrooms on toast and am making leek & chestnut risotto.

Anything we can help you with wreck? Ds has a temp of 39.76 Sad

WreckTangled · 02/01/2017 14:22

Sounds good MissA!

Oh no mammy he must feel rotten. I don't think so, I need to do the 'supporting information' which is basically why you're suitable for the job and why. So basically I need to read the person specification etc and tie that in. Wondered why I was struggling though my sugar level is 2.3!

Mummyreindeerlegz · 02/01/2017 14:24

Second NSD in a row, 2017 is going well so far! Ds1 wanted a hot chocolate at the national trust place we went to for a walk but I said no. Fairly easy as he is dairy free so unlikely to be able to have one anyway. We walked four miles and then came home for sausage sandwiches and hot chocolate.

Dh goes back to work tomorrow, all his travel is already paid for for the year. It'll be odd being home alone all day with the children.

mammymammyIRL · 02/01/2017 14:34

He's watching YouTube videos of country music videos & milking it e.g. My nose is dirty clean it for me! Hopefully dh will be home soon and will take care of us bothSmile

I take it that's very low, tell them the frugaleers think you're awesome that's why

Needastrongone · 02/01/2017 14:44

Looks lovely MissA. I can't remember if you are veggie or not but I think yes?

Frugal Christmas then Snuggly, and generous of your MIL too. Good idea about the mortgage, every bit helps I reckon.

I've done the dogs, freezer, the linen cupboard and had a 6 mile run, plus general washing and tidying. Shower, stretch and read for an hour, which is a resolution for NY.

NSD again. Did order 3 books from Amazon last night, but I had a voucher for these.

ememem84 · 02/01/2017 15:56

Dh spent £17 at the shop on oven cleaner washing up liquid olive oil milk and something else.

Oven has been cleaned (oven pride stuff thrown in at least) and I've dechristmassed and tidied up. Bedding changed washing on.

Now chilling waiting for a candle to be used up so I can have the jar for my nail files etc.....

Dh is coming to use up the stuff we have Smile I have a bit of a sore throats which is perfect for going back to work tomorrow....Hmm

Have also put some daffodils in a vase and posted them on Instagram #vegan haha!

ememem84 · 02/01/2017 15:58

Have also checked my purse and have £229 in there. £200 was a gift from parents for Christmas. Haven't yet taken it to the bank - tomorrow's job. I also have a bunch of gift cards £160 left on my m&s one, about £15 left on the one dh got me for underwear for our local dept store and £20 for local cafe. So I should be ok spends wise for a while.

WreckTangled · 02/01/2017 16:01

Ooo em I'm going to stalk you on Instagram

PeoniesforMissAnnersley · 02/01/2017 16:17

need I eat meat at work where I get free lunch during term but DH is completely veggie so we are veggie at home. We also go to a lot
Of vegan/veggie restaurants as there's more choice for him and I enjoy it too.
