Gah Snuggly right really am going to get up now......

AGenie · 14/09/2016 09:53

Collie how do you build up the muscle in your hips? All the women in my family end up needing their left hip replaced and I'm wondering if those sorts of exercises would help me too. My recent car buying attempts were so I could switch to an automatic that would be easier on my left hip as it would have no clutch pedal.

I do see what you mean about the long walk. Sounds as if the feasibility or otherwise is very much dependent on what you yourself can manage. Best to be realistic about it I would think.

WreckTangled · 14/09/2016 10:30

Side planks for hips among other things

Collieballs · 14/09/2016 11:35

AGenie a 5000 step workout and pilates is quite useful too :)

SnugglySnerd · 14/09/2016 11:50

Don't worry, I dozed off in my chair half an hour ago! Still have lots to do on my list.

Tryingtosaveup · 14/09/2016 11:56

Just done 2 hrs ironing for DS and DSiL 's two little ones. Can't believe small DCs have so many clothes. I wouldn't bother ironing them- but they have 'standards' NSD I hope

AGenie · 14/09/2016 11:59

Collie and Wreck What are side planks and a 5000 step workout? They sound hard.

ItalianWiking84 · 14/09/2016 13:02

We have 30 degrees so dh and me are going for ice creams

SnugglySnerd · 14/09/2016 13:04

Hot here too, washing on line. Need to take stuff to charity shop but I might treat DD to an ice cream while we're out.

WreckTangled · 14/09/2016 13:07

Lovely day here too, I really need to hoover upstairs and tidy but Ds won't let me go indoors.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 14/09/2016 13:21

Wreck looks beautiful, it is gorgeous here as well today so have two lots of washing out on the line Smile

Can tick a few things off the list, have cleaned the kitchen, washed up, done 2 lots of washing, tidied living room, hoovered downstairs, sorted paperwork and am having a quick lunch break before hanging some pictures.

Cag keep meaning to ask, am thinking about getting dd a keyboard for Christmas, have you got any recommendations?

WreckTangled · 14/09/2016 13:46

I've listed some bits on eBay today hope they sell. Got a lovely all in one waterproof and some converse plus a fat face children's dress. Somethings got to sell right?!

Collieballs · 14/09/2016 13:57

AGenie have a look at YouTube :)

The house we really wanted is out of the question :( viewing another tomorrow though! There's a park across the road and amenities are within half a mile. The thought of being so near everything is a dream! Someone's viewing it today. I hope they don't fall in love with it!

Cagliostro · 14/09/2016 14:04

Wreck please don't feel bad, £10 for 20 mins recorder is overpriced imo x

Cagliostro · 14/09/2016 14:09

Not sure about keyboards as it is a long time since I've had one! I believe weighted keys are something good to look for though (as it is closer to the feel of a piano). Yamaha generally springs to mind but there may be other good brands around. I'm sure I've seen keyboards on Amazon Lightning Deals a lot, so may be good to get a few in mind to look out for. And yay! A worthwhile investment :)

Had my first pupil of the term today who did maths and then piano. Her mum gave me my fee in a labelled envelope. Somehow it made me feel more official and like a proper tutor than just having the cash. :o

Mummyshortlegz · 14/09/2016 14:42

Collie I have a knackered hip and back and I have HMS. my physio insists i need to more exercise and to push through the pain. I have good days and bad days but I'm managing. I've just joined the gym to build more muscles and I'm planning a strength class, Pilates and Aqua fit and two gym sessions a week.

SnugglySnerd · 14/09/2016 16:09

Spent £3 on ice creams but that's it for today! Dread to think how much we've actually spent on ice creams this summer. They are my number 1 weakness!
Tasks for this evening are to do Petplan claim, renew library books online, work out how to return the "skinny" maternity jeans I bought at the weekend as they are really wide in the leg and look ridiculous and watch the GBBO.

Collieballs · 14/09/2016 16:18

Mummy that's pretty much what I have to do too! I have a jawbone fitness tracker and can see that I walk roughly walk 3.78 miles a day. So I'm not sure why I was worried about the nursery / school commute. I'm more fit than I thought Blush

NSD but DS just spent some pocket money from his Granny. Bless him! Just 50p.

Slow cooked chilli con carne for tea. I love comfort food.

ScarletPower · 14/09/2016 17:30

Hello all - it's been a while since I posted but I've dutifully updated my spreadsheet most days

Good grief this has been a mega long, expensive month, which unsurprisingly I have ended £65.34 over-spent.

This was mostly the groceries budget (£49.67) of which £30 was Slimming World ready meals so not too bad really.

The everything else budget was over-spent by £15.67 which is really good considering how many birthdays I've had to shell out for, a trip to the dentist for a filling and some new trainers for DS1.

DH also got a £30 bus lane fine which was really annoying and I could have done without it this month.

Petrol budget was underspent by £17.98 or I would have been more overdrawn. A tank of petrol has lasted me over a month now that DS1 has his own car.

I'm not even going to attempt to try and adjust my budget this month to pay back my over-spend so I've just gritted my teeth and transferred some of my emergency savings to cover it, so have a zero balance right now.

Hopefully next month should be far less spendy. I don't have as many birthdays for a start and I'm also not at home through the day like I was through the summer holidays. Need to start saving up for Christmas now!

ItalianWiking84 · 14/09/2016 17:33

Snugly: if you have zealando you should check out their outlet store, they have loAds of maternity for good money. I've bought loads there. Would love to send it over to you, if we're same size?

m.zalando.co.uk

Went trough loads of baby clothes today and have washed loads. Glad it's really sunny weather here

There you go, Collie. Just take it slow and steady and you'll be fine. I hope the next house lives up to your hopes.☺

Very productive days on the home front from everyone! I haven't done much, as I've been at work all day, but all I need to do is heat up dinner (I made a veggie shepherd's pie yesterday and there are 4 portions left , so 2 today and 2 for the freezer) and wash up. I have a day a week booked up to half term initially, so pleased with that. I aim to make enough on Tuesdays for two days, which is working well so far.

Happy 17th birthday to Need's DS Cake.

Spends: £9.70 travel, £4.30 latte and brownie and £24 on credit card, on tickets to see/hear Owen Jones as part of DS's birthday present.

Ememem84 · 14/09/2016 18:55

Nsd. Yay!

Ememem84 · 14/09/2016 18:58

We are not friends with Millie. She pooped on the couch.

We've made a mistake letting her in the living room before she really knows where her litter box is. Now just have to get her out...probably better to keep her on wooden floors for a while.

On the plus side our couch cushions have been cleaned twice. never been so clean

Fluffycloudland77 · 14/09/2016 19:38

In a lot of ways cats and dogs prepare you for kids. The only bits they lack are 3000 plastic toys that must be out at all times & they can't tell you to go fuck yourself.

46p on soft drinks in lidl.

Need I hope your ds is enjoying his birthday. 🎂🚗

I've been accepted on a free training course for nails in Manchester which I can drive to and from in a couple of hours saving me £50 premier inn fees and I can get 20% off the materials I'll need from the uk supplier. So all in all quite happy 💅🏻
