Hi everyone,
I've been on and off of these threads before, I work term time so I seem to do most of my contributions during the holidays, time just isn't on my side during the school days!
Anyway, I'm fed up of being skint, on paper we have enough coming in but the reality is somewhat different, I've written a budget and shown dh, who isn't a spender at all, I was hoping he'd be enthusiastic but all I got from him was "you do this all the time and never stick to it" which annoyed me no end. I explained to him that in order to make it work he needs to be supportive, but because he doesn't spend money he sees it as my problem, I just wish he'd get on board and agree that we (I) can do it. It is possible!
My plan is to shop in Aldi/Lidl, meal plan and batch cook, I've been considering a bulk order from Muscle Food, but I'm unsure if it's any good, has anyone got any advice? Some of the bundles look good but there are things that we just wouldn't eat - like chicken sausages etc. No more clothing needs to be purchased for any of us, I mean dd1 may need new underwear but that's about it, we all have far too many clothes as it is, I sorted out 3 bags for the recycling and put 22 items on eBay at the weekend.
I've got a great household organiser from paperchase, it has various sections including a meal planner, budget planner, shopping list, diary and notes. I've written everything down in the diary, when money needs to be moved and cheques that need to be written etc. I've also started noting down when I spend any money, which I hope will help me keep track on just where that money goes.
Have a great day
