I have a voucher for £5 of Nectar points if I spend £50. Need a couple if things e.g. meat for DH's Sunday roast so thought I'd go along tomorrow and also get DD some warmer autumn/winter clothes with the 25% off. Then I can get the free Nectar points too.

Overtime tomorrow morning for me (and Sunday morning actually ) and then out for a slightly boozy lunch with my friend, budgeted £40. I don't know how far that will get me though.

Good news, DP has an interview for a job in the next grade on Thursday. It seems like a big pay increase but it will take him over the next tax bracket so it's not as much as it first seems and he'll have a commute he doesn't currently have to fund. But it's the only way he's going to progress in his career and he's ready for a change.

Thanks agenie for the new thread. £15 on dinner and a glass of wine with friend this evening. Dh dropped me off and picked me up so no money for taxis!

Have just done or tried to do an online shop at boots. I had a list. And spent £43. Or was prepared to. I can't select my store even though they show up on the list. Have emailed customer services and have tweeted them. So annoying as I really want to avoid going into the big store in town near work (I'm like a bloody magpie and will buy everything). £43 was fairly reasonable for shampoo toothpaste multivitamins cotton wool pads and make up (all 3 for 2). I would have got cashback too! 😭
Will have to stop by the store near the stables tomorrow with my list.

I seem to have missed tons on ONE day of posting since last night

Today.
£22 M&S, stocking back up a freezer (did I mention the DC were a bit liberal with the switches they turned off when we went on holiday?).
£73 Sainsburys, 3 very specific items for B'days or celebrations, budgeted.
£6 DD training.
£200 cash withdrawal, Stupid, I wanted £100. But will pay cash for debit items to compensate.
£80 diesel for horse box.

Spends today 32 on fuel taking me over my planned amount by 32. Will be claiming it back in expenses but must budget more next month so it doesn't take me over.
Going away next week (uk) so the money has had to come out of that amount. Spends for that week now are very low

Lovely bat Cag. I would like to meet a bat. That must have been great.

My dh and ds would like to go camping and I'm fretting a bit about what I need to buy and how on earth to cook when I'm there, given our odd diets. Do any of you go camping? My main worry is about how to keep frozen food frozen while we're there. There is an electric hook up that comes with the tent pitch. I thought maybe the thing would be to buy a gas stove to cook on and use the electric hook up to plug in some kind of fridgy or freezery thing.

We looked at maybe going to a self-catering caravan or something, but for the price of one week in a caravan, we can buy one heck of a tent. Also in a tent we'd be more likely to meet people to talk to, which might be nice.

Thanks for all the wishes, nice sleeping in our own bed this night. Dd seem a lot better, so counting on having a relaxing weekend with her and hope she's soon all back my mom been around with food so should be fine for the next couple of days

Frugal or mental? I have an old friend coming round for morning cofee. I though about cycling to Lidl to get some fresh pastry. I also need to go to the post office and library, but it's on the opposite side of town.
So at 6 am I decided to make cinnamon rolls, while the dough is on I can cycle into the town centre and do my errands.
But I would have spent more had I gone to Lidl. As it is, I'm 'only' going to spend £70 or so on renewing my passport!

I need to get a bit of cash out too.

Friends coming for dinner tonight, I'm making pizza, a salad and there's tonnes of icecream in the freezer.

God, aren't flies annoying? In the country we never had them, there's plenty of them in town!!!
What do I buy to kil them? Before DD decides they're her pets??!!!

Ah, this is so civilised! Clean house, big black coffee in bed listening to the radio. And that bloody fly buzzing round. It's rather windy out there, isn't it?

You can't really keep things frozen easily, you could take frozen stuff for the first night and then buy something each day. You can get very snazzy electric cool boxes that will take care of your fresh stuff well. Good sleeping arrangements are important. A decent depth self inflating mat is a must. Go outdoors is very good for looking at this stuff.

Yesterday was £50 food. Got loads though & our sainsburys has started selling ethnic food so the creamed coconut block was 80p not £2.50. It's the least ethnic place ever so I don't know long that will last but it sure is cheap.

I'm still buying the Iceland extra mature cheddar, it's lush and 2 450g blocks cost £3.

£10 on electrical supplies because I broke my autoclave do Dh had to fix it. It took all day & was very stressful.

Actually, I just thought about what it would be like to try to do cooking and family stuff in a tent, and got really stressed, so maybe we'll not do that. If we're having a holiday, it should probably be a holiday for me too.
