£7 in home bargains on some cleaning bits and a weekly planner

Fluffycloudland77 · 16/06/2016 15:28

Need You poor girl, nerve pain is the worst. I suppose you've seen a private consultant.

Wreck That looks so sore. I bet that's the bit the kids manage to find when they want your attention too.

£1.58 cc.

75p ham
£15 blow dry for evening reception tonight. It's not brilliant but it's better than I could manage. I tipped because she was a sweet girl.

needastrongone · 16/06/2016 15:49

Thank you Ipsos and Fluffy. I was coming on to apologise for a self pitying post to be honest. I'm over myself now, just pissed off. Yes, been down the private route, a long way down. Thankfully, the private route diagnosed the disc leaks, rather than bulges, as the NHS wouldn't have funded that level of diagnosis. I know the treatment is right, I'm just upset as the drugs make you feel rotten until you get used to them Smile

£45 Boots, but specifically went to spend there for our holiday, as I had a double points vouchers and one that gives £6 worth of points for a £45 spends. So got sun screen, medical stuff etc.
£50 Aldi.
£8 prescription.

Ipsos Great that the HT is being so understanding. They are pretty wearing school trips aren't they?

babsmam · 16/06/2016 16:00

Need be as self pitying as you like. We all need too at times.

WreckTangled · 16/06/2016 16:01

Ah need that's rubbish. I take gabapentin for nerve pain sometimes hadn't needed it for years though luckily.

Fluffy it looks worse this morning but doesn't hurt unless really pushed.

Spent £8 in tesco earlier it's my garandads birthday tomorrow so got a couple of cards and some eggs as dd wants pancakes for breakfast (it's her birthday too!).

Girlie I'm so excited for you about tomorrow!

lilacclery · 16/06/2016 17:06

north interested in hearing about how your time with personal trainer goes. My sister has started a blog on her fitness journey, she has about 8 stone to lose Helens Fitness Journey

Not sure if I posted this here yesterday or not but living social have a deal in ireland with snapfish currently 100 prints for €1.99 might be same in uk
I bought 200, I haven't printed my wedding album yet so going to do it as a surprise for dh for our 6th anniversary, planned the same last year with another company but my voucher expired before I could use it Blush
I will print other photos too not just 200 of our weddingSmile

fluffy love lilac & grey, our whole house nearly needs repainting this year. Well sick of my blue sitting room and orange dining room now after about 8 yearsGrin buy the chair, you can always get it recovered if you change your mind about the colour

em that creperie lunch sounds fabulous and gave me an idea too, booked a day off for 4th july as dd participating in a parade in a nearby town and I'm taking her friend and my ds and making a day out of it, there's a creperie there [mmm]

unescorted I found my running mojo as well, I'm actually setting the alarm early tomorrow morning to go before work Smile run 3 days rest 1, is that your own idea or a particular plan? I don't want my weight loss to stall as it has previously times I've been running

fluffy major bargain on the kitchen tiles - you are the alpha & the omega of this thread officially!

My friend got €76 worth of m&s school stuff for €32 through me influencing her, I'm very proud of her, might get some uniforms for dd now too while the sale is on

rafa I've seen those outdoor gyms in other towns and on holidays beside children's playgrounds, think they look great as kids can run off steam and be supervised while parent exercises, win win. None here though. I know I should probably spearhead a campaign to fundraise for one but I don't have the energy at the moment or time for something like that

babs your poor ds, glad he is ok

girlie summer holidays for our children in roi is 8 weeks I know yer holidays are shorter though.

caught up now up to p26

babsmam · 16/06/2016 17:11

Lilac good luck to your sister and hats off to you for your dedication to catching up.
About to go and spend a phenomenal amount in lidl , Iceland and sainsburys and the local butcher

lilacclery · 16/06/2016 17:12

cag that subscription sounds like a very good thing to do, if it means you are getting educational books and it's also something to look forward to, a surprise every month

em alcohol can have a significant effect on our system and on our appetite for the wrong types of food also. Last week on hols I had wine every single day, and no flaxseeds which is a must for my digestive system and when I came home there was no alcohol and chia seeds(must buy flaxseeds) & plenty water once more and by tues my body was like 'thank you lilac' this is so much better Grin

lilacclery · 16/06/2016 17:14

em folic acid very important for ttc following on from girlie's advice
It's important for baby's brain development

Ememem84 · 16/06/2016 17:46

Thanks lilac

I'm feeling loads better actually it's amazing what no booze, no bread and minimal dairy will do. Also I've been trying to meditate. So am really focussing on chilling out.

£9.50 on eyebrow wax today - at a different place to my usual may make it my usual because it's cheaper!! . I did a 4km walk at lunchtime too. Yippee.

8FencingWire · 16/06/2016 19:17

Wreck, Happy Birthday for yesterday! I like that watch, the bruise not so much!
need, can you do physio? Sorry to hear about your back :(
lilac, well done for the running!
girlie, good luck tomorrow and enjoy! I'll be thinking of you!
em, I missed that, are you tcc? :)
bab, enjoy the shopping:)
fluffy, what reception are you attending? And how was it?
what, which planner did you get?

8FencingWire · 16/06/2016 19:22

Sorry if I missed anybody, on the phone:)

Had an abysmal night last night, proper insomnia and I'm shattered today, but I was off.

Ursulatodd · 16/06/2016 19:31

NSD for me but DH had to go out and buy some dinner as he's just been put on low fodmap diet by gp - anyone else have experience of this?

Big frugal decision - have given our cleaner notice for the end of the month. We're haven't been 100% happy for a while and it will save us £22pw.

Cagliostro · 16/06/2016 19:41

Ooh thanks Lilac I've been sitting here incredibly uninspired/tired re: dinner and was THIS >< close to ordering pizza. But instead, hoops on toast it is. Yum.

WreckTangled · 16/06/2016 19:53

I love hoops on toast! With cheese on top. And brown sauce mmmm

Whataboutwhathuh · 16/06/2016 20:21

This one just simple. I'm going to start a bullet journal though j think. But the notebooks are so expensive!

The Fantastic Frugalleers Meander into May.....
Cagliostro · 16/06/2016 20:40

Brown sauce with hoops? Just when I thought we could be friends. Hmm

:o

It was yum anyway. Ate it while the DCs were in the bath (they had sandwiches as they had a hot lunch... and they made them themselves, WIN!).

Ordered a Christmas present for each DC on sale (model kits for a Viking settlement and a Greek temple! How cool :o), was very disorganised with food today so spent on that. Although still feel slightly happy since I resisted the takeaway. Got DH's Father's Day present as well, a Sherlock Holmes card game as they know he looooves SH, and it was only £13.

Haven't done any of the other stuff I was supposed to do today though. [cries]

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 16/06/2016 20:41

Hi all Smile

Need sorry to hear you are feeling rubbish, I would be feeling majorly fed up as well. There is nothing worse than being in pain Sad really hope you start to feel better soon.

Thanks for all the luck for tomorrow - can'r believe it is finally going to happen how are you getting on with your house 8 ?

I have had another very busy day at work, am pretty knackered and counting down to the weekend!

My lovely mum gave me £40 as she knows things are tight this month, stopped at Lidl and spent £25 on food as fridge was pretty empty. Will keep the rest for general spends over the weekend.

OP posts:
PurpleRibbons · 16/06/2016 20:42

I am having a bloody awful, stressful time at work at the moment. I'm not sleeping and I'm exhausted and feel constantly nauseous. I can't see how it will get any better this term, it's manic until we break up.
Sorry I just need to grumble and I know you will all understand! Had a cheap couple of days anyway. £4 at soft play yesterday and £2 on a drink today.
Will catch up on the thread now.

WreckTangled · 16/06/2016 20:45

Oh no purple Sad I have a friend who's an amazing teacher but she's just quit to do supply.

Oh Cag brown sauce is the best.

PurpleRibbons · 16/06/2016 20:48

I don't think I could do supply, the kids are horrible to supply teachers but the thought of no marking, reports, parents eve etc appeals. I am once again wondering what else I could do instead. Can't afford to reduce my income any more, I took a huge pay cut when I went part time.

WreckTangled · 16/06/2016 20:51

She was acting deputy until Easter. I think her class were horrible and she never saw her kids she had a bit of a panic attack one day and decided she had to change something. She said she'll go back when her dc are older. She's primary school though so a bit different?

needastrongone · 16/06/2016 21:22

I'm sorry you are having a tough time at work Purple, you guys have a bloody tough job. I've no solutions I am afraid, perhaps a glass of wine?!

Thanks Girlie, your mum sounds lovely, you sound very close to her. That's lovely, I am not at all close to mine, but hope myself and DD are/will be.

DH always has brown sauce on Shepherds Pie Smile

Cagliostro · 16/06/2016 21:55

Sorry you're feeling so sore Need DH was on tramadol and gabapentin for nerve pain, strong stuff though. But it did help. Thanks

Purple that sounds really mega stressful. Even the most enthusiastic teachers are just getting really disillusioned with it all. What else do you see yourself doing? Do you need to work FT or would something like a bit of supply plus tutoring etc on the side be any good? Less work but less childcare if that's relevant?

I've been sent another manuscript to edit, should've done it yesterday but going to get on with it now. Mood feels a bit wobbly, just the last few days catching up with me (all the new people etc) so nowt to worry about but need to make sure I keep myself in check.

Cagliostro · 16/06/2016 21:56

Oh duuhh sorry ignore my bit about FT I totally missed that in your post. Sorry Purple
