You won't be the first or last to do that wreck. It is embarrassing though, people forget though.

They're all too busy thinking about themselves to think about you.

Ememem84 · 14/06/2016 21:46

wreck ive face planted the handlebars before in spinning. My legs just gave way but kept spinning. Ouch. I hope you're ok!

need can you do both? Or just keep one painting and get the isa? The sensible part of me says isa. But the other side says if you love the paintings truely love them and you will love walking past them, looking at them, taking compliments hopefully from others about them then it's worth it. Who is the artist?

I bought some stuff recently for my client (for his new gazillionaire house here). He wanted local artists. But didn't care what the paintings were. I bought this.

www.nicholasromeril.com/work/divine-bovine-9--curiously-

I met the artist and he also sold me a smaller pencil sketch of the same for my house. It's in my kitchen. When j get my gazillionaire house I'm investing in the huge painting. For my hallway. it'll never happen, must be more frugal

needastrongone · 14/06/2016 21:49

Same thoughts babs, ISA rates are negligible. I have sat and just looked at them all night. I wish I knew the slightest thing about art, I don't. They give me joy for sure though. I don't think I would lose much on resale, although accept its riskier.

Keep on trundling on babs, life is a grind sometimes. We are here for a chat, that costs nowt'Smile

Ememem84 · 14/06/2016 21:52

Agree babs keep talking. Things go rubbish sometimes. But it'll all be alright in the end. And if it's not, it's not the end. A very wise woman (my grandma) told me that.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 14/06/2016 21:54

Oh Wreck you poor thing I absolutely promise I did not laugh not even a tiny bit Wink

Em that picture is gorgeous.

Need could you just get one of the pictures, sort of a compromise? I saw Billy Elliot when I was pregnant with dd Grin we were up in the Gods though, would love to see it again. Dd will do well this year as she is also going to see Cats in August!!

Anyone else getting into the football? I don't normally get into it much for quite like Euro and the World Cup.

Thanks Babsman, I will look up hotels. I will be on the train with her. Very disappointed that Jorvik is closed. Don't know whether to wait until next year when it opens again . Will ask my DD what she thinks.

Ememem84 · 14/06/2016 22:20

girlie oh cats!!! That's my fave!! I always wanted to be in it. My faves are mr mystopheles And mungo Jerry and rumple teaser.

Tryingtosaveup · 14/06/2016 22:27

Thanks Need and Girlie. I didn't even know York had an ordinary museum( if you know what I mean). Right, that's DGD's summer trips sorted....the Space Centre in Leicester and a few days in York. Will, sort dates out with DD. Will def take you up on that cuppa Need.
Cag, the others are right...you sound so much happier. Probably the best thing you did leaving work even though it didn't feel like it at the time.
Lilac, glad you had a good holiday, pity about the van. Hope DH is not to upset. My DP thinks the world of his bloody car. He'd be really upset.
Result with that candle EM. I am just cleaning all my beeswax and am going to make some candles to sell. Beeswax candles smell gorgeous.

Tryingtosaveup · 14/06/2016 22:39

well done to you and your DS today Isos.
Need, I'd buy at least one painting....you can't admire an ISA and life is short. Enjoy it.

Cagliostro · 14/06/2016 23:18

Aww well done MiniIpso! :)

Need glad to read about the painting. I have some prints of some of my favourite paintings, so obviously not investment level stuff :o but looking at them makes me SO happy. :)

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 15/06/2016 05:46

Happy birthday wreck! Hope you have got over the embarrassment from yesterday and you have a lovely day.
It's pouring with rain here again. My mum's garden is flooded. We are going to do some crafty things and perhaps go to soft play later if I can face it!

The Fantastic Frugalleers Meander into May.....
Whataboutwhathuh · 15/06/2016 16:16

That's very nice!

So Aircon leaked so didn't spend £50 there. Spent £55 on a tank of petrol instead and next week have a fix and re gas booked for £83.99. I'm hoping it's just the valve. It was my mil's before and I have no idea if she kept it looked after. Doubt it so it could be the compressor or something else expensive. Bah.

Cagliostro · 15/06/2016 17:25

Hope you're ok Ap

Happy birthday Wreck!

Thank you Trying I think you're right. I enjoyed my job but what I'm doing now is a whole new world of awesome.

Was going to be NSD but the Brownies schedule has changed so I'll be picking DD up on the bus later. Possibly via the shop, I'm in dire need of junk food frankly. Had 2 pupils earlier though so I'm still in profit. :) And their mum suggested a different lesson time whereby she will take DD to an activity for me (as her eldest is doing the same) while I teach her younger DC. So that will save me/DS bus fare and time as well, which is brilliant. :) :)
