Nsd. Have done 30 day shred and I'm spinning later.

babsmam · 14/06/2016 16:33

Purple could you look on eBay or Facebook seeking for a fridge for now

PurpleRibbons · 14/06/2016 16:49

I might do babs although I'd quite like the old one taken away and disposed of so I might try Currys or similar! Will look on Quidco for offers.

Fluffycloudland77 · 14/06/2016 16:53

You've got the exercise bug wreck. I used to do 6-7 classes a week. I miss it sometimes.

£3 Tesco skin, hair and nail vitamins.
£1 cat food.

CremeEggThief · 14/06/2016 17:07

£25 weekly travel ticket, as it looks like I have work all week. Shattered, but it'll be worth it if we can have a holiday this summer. And £2.10 on a cappuccino, while waiting for my 2nd bus.

lilacclery · 14/06/2016 17:13

warning EPIC POST
I'm a week behind on the thread so just going to catch up with you all now.

wreck your cheesecake on your night out looked fab, a colleague just had a mini cheesecake from aldi as his dessert at lunch so I've cheesecake on the brain plus plan on making it for my classes this week into cheesecake bars so I guess I'm just cheesecake obsessed at the momentSmile

east I hope your ds got better quickly that sounds like an awful night you put down with him

We had a great holiday - bank holiday weekend at a music festival with my parents and 4 nights in Scotland at Craig Tara Haven campsite then just ourselves. One spend on credit card (€58.50 in Penneys before we left on essentials underwear, drinks bottles etc ) , no overdraft & spending money for complete holiday was €656.45 for 8 full days for us and 3 nights with my parents I'm quite happy with that.

Due £10 back from deposit on bedguard for ds too so that'll reduce the net spends too.

I've been pricing going away next year again alreadySmile
Came back on Friday and Sat morn, I had an accident with dh's van - the passenger door didn't close properly and swung out and hit a bollard and dented the door and the impact caused the window to shatter but no one was hurt and he has use of au pairs car while she's away so gives us time to get it fixed SadAngryBlush

creme that documentary sounds good on BBC4 must see if I can access iplayer from ROI
purple and creme check out Amber if you can find it online was a 4 part series on rte a couple of years ago about a missing teen also, ending was poor but series was good.

purple I gave up on compost bin when it was housing a family of rats and the cats couldn't get at them. Now food waste goes in the brown bin as we don't have hens to eat it either at the moment.

ipsos your ds has brilliant confidence to give a talk in front of a group situation, well done to him
I made home made goujons yesterday and they were amazing - will post pic soon along with pic of kittens as promised girlie
Seeded bread made into crumbs, mixed with garlic powder, paprika and chopped parsley - beat an egg and dip chicken pieces into egg and then crumb mix, I left overnight in fridge and then heated a tbsp of oil on a tray in oven put in goujons and sprayed top of them with oil.

cag your trainers sound great, and great to get good service like that too. I felt the pain of poor footwear while I was away and ended up wearing a pair of filthy canvas shoes from Penneys that I wear cutting the lawn some days for comfort Blush but I finally bought my sketchers last night and will collect them instore on Sat. €40.50 on the cc but will pay it back at €10 a week for next month.

eve interested to hear how the system of going to cheap followed by more expensive supermarket alternatively works out
creme that's awful about your work, at least you know you've work next week Smile
what you're definitely right to look for the delivery fee as compensation for the delay & cag you too with the trains

Dh loves his new job still and is recovering well from the snip too.
Got his p60 for last year finally from his last employer so I will be able to do up a rough version of my tax return and see what faces me in October Shock

wreck I told dh's dil she had lost loads of weight last time I saw her and she said she hadn't but she does shred 5 weekday mornings, well done you your hard work is paying off.

I've signed up for a 10k with my sis in aug and an obstacle race with 11 family & their partners in Sept, so I started back on couch 2 10k on sunday and went at 5.30am this morning. Will go again fri morn hopefully as dh is on nights this week so in house in the mornings albeit asleep. Saw an advert for a fitness centre €5.99 per week, going into find out about it but it means driving for an hour to attend classes so I've already decided I probably won't sign up - a one off class there is €8 so it's a super saving but sure running is free Grin

Ok caught up as far as halfway on page 18!

WreckTangled · 14/06/2016 17:51

Aww lila glad you had a good holiday. That sucks about the van but at least it was only a bollard it hit.

Fluffy if you lived closer we could do it together Grin

After the salad debacle the other night Dh has just moaned that I used up all the grated carrot in my wrap Hmm

Ememem84 · 14/06/2016 17:52

Woah likac epic post!

Result today - refund from easyjet. I emailed the ceo (thanks fluffy I think who suggested it). Not a total refund. But £50. So a token gesture. Can't complain at that because they didn't have to. I suggested they look at their policy. And train their staff better.

In other news - bought a new foundation today. A clarins one. It's one I had when we got married. Best one for my face I've ever tried. Went wondering into boots at lunchtime for a plastic zipper bag for travelling as mine has broken. And got sucked in by the clarins lady. They had a special offer. I had double points coupons and other coupons. So although I spent £27 on foundation Magic foundation which will make me look at least 10 years younger! I have essentially made about £10 in points back for spends on more lovely things. Smile

And took a bunch of stuff to the charity shop where I found an almost brand new huge Yankee lavender candle. (The one in the nice big jars. With the suction lids. Perfect for bathroom storage when it's been used and washed). Result!!!!

Cagliostro · 14/06/2016 18:15

Ah, nice one Em! :) I must sort out the train thing. Full fare was only £12.90 but still it all helps.

Trains are still mega fucked up here apparently. Some scandal with the local company, I dunno. Annoyingly we have a few trips coming up, but in the afternoons thankfully so we can just leave mid morning and not stress about it.

Hey Lilac that is serious dedication to catching up with the thread! Star Glad you had a nice time.

NSD as instead of going to a friend's, she dropped her DS here as she wasn't feeling great (and I while fine to watch the DCs play would've struggled with the journey there). My bits and pieces that I bought with my work leaving voucher arrived.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 14/06/2016 18:22

Trying I did a weekend in York a couple of years ago with dd who was then about 8yo I think, we had a brilliant time! We really liked the main York museum, it has a replica Victorian street that you can walk down and look around. Its brilliantly interactive, there is a dungeons bit as well where they use holograms inside cells talking as if they are prisoners. Very effective if not a little unsettling Grin They do a very good and cheap park and ride system as well. We did the Jorvik centre as well and tbh I think its a bit over hyped, once you have done the little ride around bit there really isn't much more to it.

Cag am so pleased things are starting to come together for you Smile

Em I had acupuncture once and also felt pretty spun out afterwards! Thats a good find on the candle front!

Wreck I would ring re TC tbh, I am psyching myself up to do the same soon.

I had my first day back at work today after 2 weeks off, was busy but o.kay.

Spends;
Yesterday £6 on a gift for a friend who has just moved house.
Today £45 on petrol, noticed the price of that has crept up again.

OP posts:
babsmam · 14/06/2016 18:27

Result em on the candle. I love it when karma happens like that.
Fab dedication lilac. Pleased you had a good holiday.
Dh went to tesco today for a few bits as he was collecting a new phone. He commented on how expensive it was. £20 and £150 for the phone as a birthday present.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 14/06/2016 18:27

Tayto forgot to say that dd is going Mon - Wed to London next week, just 2 nights but will still be the longest and furthest she has been away from me other than trips to see her Grandparents. The itinerary looks brilliant though so she will have a fantastic time, very lucky to be seeing matilda Envy

babsmam · 14/06/2016 18:29

Does the shed have many jacks, squats and such like in. I can't do high impact things but have a copy gathering dust. I used to do seven classes a week now cba to do one. It's the vicious cycle of feeling shit, doing nothing, feeling more shit

Ememem84 · 14/06/2016 18:30

I'm cooking dinner. Something I haven't done for a long time. Tonight's dinner is chicken when garlic (lots of) and pasta in a cream cheese wine and spinach sauce. Yum.

Since I've been home I've done a load of washing. Smile

Also walked home so have got my exercise for the day.

Accupuncture was great. I felt spacey and floaty but it helped focus my mind. She recommended a load of stuff re meditation and stuff to help my poor tummy (apparently it's stressed too). Smile

WreckTangled · 14/06/2016 18:44

Babs I can't do j jacks so I replace them with running on the spot or punches. Also don't go deep with lunges. Honestly I have a genetic disease which will likely see me in a wheelchair one day so if I can do it anyone can Smile

Ok girlie I'll phone them....hopefully wot be waiting forever and hopefully they won't stop the money but I think they will!

The amount I'm spending on classes it would be cheaper to join Hmm

babsmam · 14/06/2016 19:01

Ok wreck I will try and summon the motivation. I am wary of the world falling out of my pelvic floor at the moment. Grin

PurpleRibbons · 14/06/2016 19:14

Wow lilac that really was a long post!
Good result on the refund Em. Clarins foundation is the only sort I will use. It's £££ but I've never found one as good.
Loads of flooding in central Birmingham today, trains cancelled, shopping centres flooded, one of the hospitals had to close its a&e because it was flooded. Good thing you didn't come this week cag!

WreckTangled · 14/06/2016 20:41

Argh my legs went and I fell down but with my feet still clipped into the pedals. Sooooo embarrassing BlushBlushBlush I couldn't get up the instructor had to unclip me

Whataboutwhathuh · 14/06/2016 20:48

Oh no! Hope you are ok wreck!

WreckTangled · 14/06/2016 20:49

I'm fine and got straight back into it it was just so embarrassing! Everyone else there was hardcore Blush

needastrongone · 14/06/2016 20:50

Oh dear Wrecked, poor you. I am sure it's happened before though, loads of times.

Nice to have you back Lilac

Cag Grin at the video. I am so glad your class went well. I think having another adult stay is an excellent idea, it's back up and reassurance for you. You do seem so much happier, I am so pleased for you. x

I am very close to York, so can help with any info you need. Might provide a cuppa if you called in Smile

Creme Think you can manage the week with the long term goal in mind? How you feeling?

Tayto That's bloody annoying about the money.

How you feeling babs?

Spends - £60 on hair cut and colour, plus bought shampoo and conditioner. Rural prices!

I also have 2 wonderful paintings in my living room, and need to decide whether to invest in these, or buy an ISA. The lady who owns a local gallery lives in the village and dropped them off earlier. They are really wonderful, and I have looked at them endlessly.

needastrongone · 14/06/2016 20:57

Girlie I know DD is older than yours, but she saw Billy Elliot earlier in the year. She absolutely loved it. Was a school trip to London. Said it was her highlight.

babsmam · 14/06/2016 21:30

Up and down need tbh. At the risk of sounding like a kondo nut do the paintings give you joy?
Also the frugaleer in me asks which will give the best return? I know art is never a sure bet but it's a thought.

ipsogenix · 14/06/2016 21:32

Well done Em. It sounds as thought you're sorting things out right and left there.

Ds and I had a bit of a milestone today with successfully going on his first school day trip. We both had a good time and came home happy, with tired feet from a long day at a national trust place. Chuffed.

Frugal fail in buying emergency waterproof coat yesterday from Tesco, which I had to take in from size 22 to size 12; looked lovely but turned out to be about as waterproof as a teabag. "Shower resistant" may be a euphemism.

Cagliostro · 14/06/2016 21:34

Yikes Purple! Shock :(

It's been a really nice day, other than burning myself while cooking dinner! Oops!
